  1. It's easy to throw opinions out there about how certain ISDs spend their money and how well they manage it. This is straight from TEA 2022-23 school year. "The state's school financial accountability rating system, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), ensures that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and that they improve these practices. The system is designed to encourage Texas public schools to better manage their financial resources to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes."
  2. Todd Dodge, Don Clayton and Kevin Barbay
  3. I remember playing in a flag football game in the early 2000s at WOS stadium. Great times. That was from the Pigskin Prep days!!
  4. I remember watching him throw pre-game, when he was a coach at West Brook, in the mid 80s. He had a cannon!!
  5. I believe William Delege was the QB in 2001. The year Ned lost to Smithson Valley in the Semi Final.
  6. The idea of creating one HS for the sake of a winning football team is ludicrous!!
  7. Nope. On the botched kickoff, the ball was never recovered and rolled out of the endzone. Ask anyone who was watching on Texan Live.
  8. Cool....was just wondering, not judging. I know rankings are very subjective.
  9. I’m not curious enough to die...lol. But, Nederland has 3 total losses with 2 of them being to #2 state ranked United!! I get that Nederland lost to BH at home...but Crosby and Lumberton (both ranked higher) lost to Nederland at home. And Silsbee, they’re 10-10 😲
  10. I’m curious what criteria you use for your rankings. I see Nederland at 14 but they have beat 4 teams raked ahead of them. (HJ, Lumberton, Crosby and West Brook)
  11. I agree if they’re quitting for health or safety reasons, but for anything else...quitting is quitting. College players are opting out once their team’s chance of playing for a championship is over. That’s quitting.
  12. Maybe the “opt out” culture, that’s been prevalent in college and pro sports this year, has now spread to HS sports. Many college football players have quit on their teams this year. The transfer portal plays a big part in it too.
