fwoodfan
My daughters AAU team played in the small (4 teams) Baytown 200 tournament this weekend. We played the SETX Elite team (which appeared to be mostly girls from Barber's Hill) twice and they beat us both games. Based on what I saw I'd say the near future for the BH girls basketball program looks bright. They executed their offense incredibly well, rebounded well despite not being particularly tall, and man can they shoot. As importantly, the coach and the girls handled themselves with class and dignity through four physical games. Congrats!
panther76
Yes they should be good again. Heard about the Crosby transfer. My question to you Barbers Hill fans is do any of you know when the billboard is going up in Baytown asking for transfers and offering to pay for transportation? Did not see it driving through last week. Have heard your coach has a history of bringing in recruits because he cannot get the job done with what he has. And before any of you get mad and start making comments, just ask him if it is true about the use of billboards

As far as the team, we only lost 2 seniors but will return the starting 5 from last year. The transfer is a very good player and good kid and should be a nice addition. panther76
Just stating what I have heard from multiple sources close to where he used to coach out in West Texas. Like I said just ask him. Seems though from his past that he has to bring in players because he cannot get the job done. Im out of the country so I cant get a schedule, did he ever decide to man up and play any Beaumont schools this year?

RaiderRed30
From what I have heard, Lumberton does not play any transfers. Everyone lives in the district. I think there is a difference between transfers and, if what panther is saying is true, having a billboard placed in another school district asking for transfers and then to go even further and offer to provide transportation. I for one though would like to see actual proof panther. As for another issue, I too have heard about the transfer and I could be wrong on what I heard, but to find a way to bring in basically a ringer to try to go further, makes me think that the coach doesn't believe in his posts. I for one as a player would have trouble trusting him if he is just going to out and try to find better to win immediately and not try to coach them up. And I mean any player not just posts. If it was done the way I heard, I think that it is an issue that should be looked at. I understand transfers at sixman school that are needed to survive, but at the 5A level any transfer, no matter the case should be forced to play JV for a year. I think most people would have an issue with someone putting up a billboard, which is just a rumor from panther76. So if you think all transfers should have to sit out of Varsity for a year, are you saying the Jack sisters should of sat out last year when they transferred to Lumberton? No because they lived in the district. There's a difference between move in and transfer

I assure you it's not just a rumor. Like I said am out of the country on business but will try to get a picture of said billboard from somebody when I get back. I have been told it is still up. oldschool2
I can assure you, BH doesn't need to put up a billboard. People are going there because they have great facilities, high paid teachers, and jobs. A lot of people are seeking just that type of environment for their kids and family. Bald Eagle
She's a move in. Transfers can't play right away anyway. BH is the place to be no matter how you slice it.
Bronco/Cat Fan
I watched the BH Girls beat a very good Lumberton team in the Gulf Coast Classic last year and went on to to win the tournament with good play from both of their post players, especially the reserve post player. They do not need transfers to move up to the next level. In my humble opinion, they play on a high level already.
