Congrats to the US women. Payback from 2011 and once again we on back on top where we should be. Carli Lloyd is incredible and crazy all at the same time. Wambach and Rampone deserve to go out on top.

 

Now its time for the US men to win the Gold Cup and end the greatest summer in American soccer.

I'm not a soccer fan but I actually watched this. I thoroughly enjoyed the goal from midfield. Taught that goalie to stay back.

No way I could have played soccer even in my younger days. I never had great wind. Hats off to anyone who can run for 90 minutes with only a break at half.

Newcomer team -- Thailand (first appearance)
Best Sportsmanship -- Germany (always dignified, plays clean)
Worst Team Sportsmanship -- Columbia (trash talk)
Worst player Sportsmanship -- Lady Andrade, (called out USA)
Overachiever team -- England (Won 3rd after nearly missing finals)
Underachiever team -- Sweden (Unimpressive, coach likely gone)
Worst team -- Ivory Coast (allowed 16, scored only 3)
Grand Dame -- Sawa from Japan (6 World Cups total)
2nd best player -- Sasic (Germany, 6 goals, but against inferior opponents)
Best player -- Carli Lloyd (6 goals, 3 in Finals!)
Best team -- by far -- USA!
