Ridge Point vs A&M Consolidated

So true. What I and most people did was look to much into what Angleton did against a very over rated Crosby team very early in the year. Also didn't realize Angleton was playing without a ton of starters and had a very young qb early on. One thing is for sure your record doesn't mean squat when your playing in a really strong district. I remember in 2010 LM squeaked into the playoffs a 4th place team but their district was just that good. LM ended up playing Aledo for a title that year. What's really scarey is how good Angle ton could be next year.

If Crosby and Angleton played again it would probably look pretty similar. I went to their game with PNG, PNG just didn't have any size or speed on defense. Angleton runs an offense that easy for Crosby to defend which is why Crosby beat Angleton badly last year too when they came 6 points away from a rematch in the regional final. Angleton runs the ball straight ahead and is cool getting three or fours yards per play, they won't change that no matter who lines up across from them. That's the type of offense that will give RP trouble if Angleton doesn't turn the ball over because it limits the opportunities of RP's playmakers in the secondary as well as their offensive opportunities.

When Crosby had 1st and goal from 9, down 13-7, and a chance to tie it up going into halftime we ended up throwing a pick in the endzone and coming away with 0 points. Angleton is going to run the ball 4 times in that spot and probably get in to tie or take the lead. When it was 28-14 and Crosby had the ball at the RP 30, we threw another pick in the endzone. Again, Angleton runs the ball from there in what is probably 4 down territory. Those interceptions would never come into play against.

When Crosby did try to run it we gave it to Williams up the middle instead of Trey Edwards who's our best inside runner with Grace hurt. We had little to no success there so we tried to do exactly what RP wanted us to and run outside right into all their speed. The difference is that Angleton will continuously run the ball like PLC did, like TC did and like Elkins did with the Skinner twins. It's going to be interesting to see how much Angleton really improved with RP's defense on the field.

Lol.  I guess crosby is the only team allowed to improve from week 1 to week 14.

Not really a comment on improvement, just stylistic matchups. Angleton lost in the third round last year too, Crosby beat them 38-15 in their own stadium before they were 6 points from a rematch in the regional final where we would have done them the same way.

The teams that Angleton has lost to or barely beaten lately the teams with defensive fronts similar to Crosby's. You can improve a lot during the season, sometimes you matchup with a team that plays exactly to your strengths offensively of defensively though.

Angleton ran 72 plays to College Stations 35. Ridge Point D seems to not able to stop the run. If that's the case, they will have a long game ahead of them. Angleton will eat the clock and limit their chances offensively.
