Off topic for stock market discussion. But, since I’ve happened to find an area where at least two posters with diametrically opposed views agree, I’ll go ahead & drop this right here. Can we agree this may be a good area for the technical wizards with DOGE to investigate and advise? It doesn’t mean cutting benefits—as some are claiming. [Hidden Content] @UT alum @LumRaiderFan

Cards take game 1 with a final of 8-2 over Northwestern State. Now 13-6 in conference and 32-8 overall. Still 2 games in back of SELA and McNeese but gain a game on HCU and UTRGV. SELA and UTRGV are matched up this weekend. -

Westwood's Bryant will be interviewing next week. According to my sources he is the frontrunner and has the endorsement of Coach Sigler. -

Coach Travis never Scheduled or really challenged the tigers like Coach sigler did no disrespect to any of the teams in our area or to Coach Williams but scheduling a lot of our local teams like he did back then will not help playing 5a and 6a competition will help keep our young Tigers at the top of 4a unless Mr Williams coaching style has changed I don’t want to see Silsbee in the Evadale tournament again no disrespect to any team keep the run and gun style offense and intense defense that is Silsbee we need a coach that will keep that no fear of anyone 4a 5a or 6a competition Silsbee has never backed down from. -

This goes along with Reagan’s “art of the deal”. If you really want to know about someone, talk to someone who has worked side-by-side with them.

You are 100% correct. All you really have to do is consider this: When open enrollment comes around, Advantage plans are advertised at least 10 times as much as Supplement plans. Why you think that is? Companies advertise the most for the plans that make THEM the most money. With advantage plans, you sign your Medicare rights over to the insurance company, your premium withheld from Social Security goes to them, and they get to direct your care.

My guess is that Bryant wouldn't be long term. As soon as his last son graduates, he would be gone. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if he and his younger son left before he graduated. Both Travis and Tremaine would be here for a while. Travis would likely retire here. Jacob would definitely be here for many many years. He is a Silsbee Tiger through and through. -

The TX House and Senate have to reconcile their separate versions before sending a combined Bill to Gov. Abbot to sign but that’s easy compared to the House vote this morning. The vote this morning was the last point at which it could have been stopped and it wasn’t. For better or worse, it’s happening.

The thing about the Westwood coach is would this be a long term hire? Yeah, it'd be great for Tiger basketball for the next few years. If Silsbee keeps going D2, who's beating them? I think Jacob would be long term if he's ready. Him or Hancock. Either way, Tiger basketball will be in good hands. -

Agree, the country said, with certainty, last election that they wanted no more democrat lunacy. -
No problem. I should clarify I wouldn’t attack a CEO either. That’s not allowable to me at all. But, if DOGE wants to do a deep dive into Medicare spending, this (Medicare Advantage) is an area that could expose a LOT of fraud.

When I posted earlier today, that was what was on the stock page. It doesn’t even concern me anymore but I hope Trump turns it around for everyone else.

What? Easy to beat? How soon we forget the killing you guys got 5 months ago. It all depends on how these tariffs come out. With most nations making deals, I think we he will be fine. -
Actually, it was United Health Care. Heavily weighted on the Dow & posted lower earnings & bad forecast for remainder of the year. I actually don’t mind them losing money a bit. They are one of the major players in the rip-off of Medicare. All the Medicare Advantage sellers up charge the government (our tax $$$) for their policies, deny a lot of coverage, cover it up with health club membership bullcrap & such, then drop folks when they actually get really sick or elderly & dump them back on Medicare. Then, it’s almost impossible for people to get supplemental coverage & they’re left with OOP costs many can’t afford, and Medicare winds up paying for the really expensive medical treatment that might have been prevented if the Advantage plan had allowed treatment earlier. (Always makes me furious just thinking about it.) Beware Medicare Advantage plans. They ARE too good to be true.
