  2. 2019 FOOTBALL TEAM PREVIEWS PORT ARTHUR MEMORIAL TITANS 2018 Record: 9-2 Overall, 6-1 District District 9-5A-I Runner Ups Many schools would consider a 9-1 regular season quite a success. Considering that the only 2 losses of the season were to district champ New Caney and eventual Region III Finalist Richmond Foster, the Titan faithful would be right to consider the 2018 season a successful one. However, the short stay in the Class 5A, Division I playoffs is not something that second year Head Coach Brian Morgan wants to repeat in 2019. Morgan brings back 6 starters on each side of the ball in hopes of having a longer stay in the playoffs. Head Coach: Brian Morgan Assistant Coaches: Korey Mangum (Defensive Coordinator), Rashard Colquitt (Offensive Coordinator), Robert Conley (Offensive Line), Josh Miller (Tight Ends/Strength and Conditioning), Arlington Nunn (Running Backs), Ahmad Smith (Quarterback), Van Sallier (Assistant Offensive Line), Quinton Johnson (Assistant Offensive Line), Darrell Granger (Wide Receivers), Dwight Scypion (Defensive Ends), Jarrett Thibodeaux (Defensive Tackles), Ronnie Jones (Linebackers), Kevin Henry (Cornerbacks), Clint Hoverson (Assistant Defensive Line) Offense: Six starters return to the Memorial offense in 2019. Senior Brian Milton should be the front runner for the starting quarterback in the Titan offense. Leading the rushing attack will be Brandon Chaney (1st team all-district) but expect Jatavian Neal to see some carries. Senior tight end David Moore (1st team all-district at fullback in 2018) will return to the Titan passing game along with senior wide outs Alex Ned (1st team all-district) and Tavian Gipson and junior Tyrence Augusta (who may also be counted on in the running game). Senior offensive tackle Trey Rodgers (1st team all-district), junior guard Tre'vonte Caines (2nd team all-district) and sophomore offensive tackle Kristopher Ryan-Ross will be counted on to protect things up front. Defense: Six starters return to the Memorial defense in 2019. Senior defensive tackles Keoni Evans (1st team all-district) and Donaven Jackson (2nd team all-district) and junior defensive end Jordan Thomas (2nd team all-district) will team with Moore, at defensive end, on the defensive line. Neal (1st team all-district at cornerback) will anchor the Titan secondary along with senior safety Kolton Mitchell (2nd team all-district). Special Teams: Senior Bryan Galvan will handle the place kicking for Memorial. Schedule: Aug. 30 - at Deer Park, 7:00 pm Sept. 6 - at Houston Madison (Butler), 7:00 pm Sept. 13 - Beaumont United, 7:00 pm Sept. 20 - OPEN Sept. 26 - at Galena Park, 7:00 pm* Oct. 3 - Goose Creek Memorial, 7:00 pm* Oct. 11 - New Caney, 7:00 pm* Oct. 18 - at Porter, 7:00 pm* Oct. 25 - Kingwood Park, 7:00 pm* Nov. 2 - at Houston Wisdom (Butler), 1:00 pm* Nov. 8 - Houston Austin, 7:00 pm*

  5. I agree. Even if you don't know much about the team because you are a new head coach, you can keep it simple and provide some information about the returning varsity starters.

  7. You shall see, if you come watch the Indians this year. QB will once again be our stand out position! With a big offensive line to go with it.

  8. Agreed! I am glad PNG plays Silsbee, Huntsville & Tomball in pre-season. The defensive stops against these teams will tell the tale of how district will go. It will also give our offense a great challenge to get ready for the season. I am so ready for football.!!!

  11. We'll see how good that Png D is when they face off against a difficult pre-district schedule versus teams that can put up the points.

  12. With Mueller's testimony, it has become clear that the majority of the time he was not running the show. Just hauling in the money through the rape of the taxpayer. I feel the one running the show was Andrew Weissmann. With the unfortunate early morning raids on people being his modus operandi, this, to me, proves what i have felt all along. Which is Mueller was a figure head shortly after this witch hunt began.

  13. If home field means anything, PA over NC. Everybody else is playing for 3rd and 4th. Plus, it was behoove PA to finish 1st. In Dist 10, the top 4 predicted are also in the top 15 in 5A D1

  14. The best part of that entire hearing, in my humble opinion, was Jim Jordan’s turn at questioning Mueller. The congressman from Ohio showed one of the benefits of having lawyers in politics (although arguably one of the few benefits). Jordan launched what amounted to a cross examination of Mueller that was pretty darn masterful. I was more than impressed.

    Beaumont United...

Had an interesting conversation with a AL apologist. My main point was this and it applies to Xbox as well. Great human being, great with getting the kids to the next level, poor playcaller/HC. Both can be true and being bad or poor at the latter doesn't make you a bad individual.......

  16. Good, let the kids play and learn without ejection.
