As I examined this game.and I truly understand why most ppl are taking Nederland.for one ppl looks at last yr and the struggle w.o had out the gate.and bcz of w.o offense isn't where ppl would want them to be.but if they examined this year w.o team.the strength are there offensive/defensive line.and there LB.and I thought Nederland backs done a great job last year.but the difference is this year w.o kids are better equipped for there assignments on defense.and I really don't see Nederland having an offense line that could dominate w.o. sure Nederland will compete a few passes.but at the end of the day 24-10.gales will have a big game.2 points

Congratulations to Coach Carter on his 1st win as a head coach and as a Patriot. I guess GCM should have won 14-7 since 72-7 is not impressive enough. Beat a bad team the way they should have. I guess New Caney says the same thing. I bet Humble ISD does not apologize for beating up on those teams to make the playoffs. Put GCCISD in the Pasadena district and let us print up some t-shirts. Ok. Time to move forward.2 points -

Going off what I saw during the spring game, maybe not. Am excited to see what RJ can do. Think this chance at RB would help him gain some valuable experience. Don’t know why everyone thinks this is the end of his QB career at Texas though. It’s not like the QB never carriers the ball in their offense.2 points -

All the talent that was "lost last year" was usually cheering from the sidelines by the end of the 1st Qtr in 2018 t(well into the playoffs.) The freshmen and sophomores played more in 2018 than the "stars" until deep in the run. This is one of the reasons why they are ALWAYS a great Texas football team. These kids will be the next group of talent.....and so on and so forth.2 points -
Agreed. Take Duncanville last year, the 6A champ. Not only did they get (legally) Micah Peavy when they hired his dad as coach (which has long been a potential benefit when hiring a coach whose kid is a stud) but they pick up Jahmius Ramsey (now at Texas Tech) after the school year started. In fact, if I’m not mistaken, Duncanville was the third school Ramsey was enrolled in last year, and the one at which he settled. You aren’t off calling them super teams. And despite having similar enrollments, you can’t compete when teams are forming with the talent base of a Houston or DFW.2 points

Hagar and one other reacted to Boneyard Boys for a topic
Vidor took the lead with 2 min left 32-27 but lost on the last play of the game, short touchdown pass 33-32 final. Tough way to lose but we made way too many mistakes to deserve the win. Lots of big plays from Montgomery, mainly WR85. First downs were probably 25-10 in Vidors favor but we didn’t finish a couple of drives. Also missed an extra point and a couple of 2 point conversions. But we got out of there without any major injuries so it’s on to the bye week and then two games we should have a good chance to win before district play begins.2 points -

Seems to me that this many players moving simultaneously ought to be looked at for something more than academic opportunity. Is it my imagination or are these types of situations becoming too frequent? Doing nothing about it would seemingly encourage more of it to take place throughout the system.1 point

Well as of 7 am today, 45 people had participated in the Pick'ems on this website. Out of that, 35 picked St. Pius to win tonight over the Timberwolves. So you all, including Buddy McGarrity, are giving us a 22% of winning. Well at least our chances doubled from earlier in the week, I'll take those odds.1 point -

RedJollyRoger reacted to Fast Turtle for a topic
Canadian did a great job against that play. Though, a great team like Canadian knew that Newton had a horrible passing game if #8 was not on the field. Therefore, they were able to focus on the run. It's hard to win championships without having a solid passing game to mix in with the run. That is what I think Newton may have difficult with this year. Excited to see what is to come.1 point -
Gilder is playing at receiver. His dad was one of the best receivers for Silsbee back in 87-88. This kid is really a QB but since he hasn’t played football in high school at all he knew the spot would be taken up. But he’s good at receiver too. This could be their break out player.1 point

Lol. I see after a bad year in which everyone has to admit. In which they still went 4 rounds deep. The haters are there. So there will be so many eating crow this year. Every team treats scrimmages the same way.only running a few select plays.but I'll be the first to say.wrs and QB has to get better.in which they will.but u don't see that the defense and special teams are better.so u heard it hear first.w.o and newton will be the last 2 teams playing in December.1 point
