  1. Darwin played great when his name was called this weekend. Roney Elam had the best game of his career with A&M and is finally going to be a starter for a full season. So, I see him having a big year. The Foster brothers had good games with McNeese this weekend as well. It is exciting watching and hearing about all the Newton boys doing well.

  7. That’s all everybody saw was the big 3. There’s plenty more that will shine now. Newton in a close one!

  8. The kid was 3rd team All State last year! We are glad to have him back.

  9. Newton's D will be rude to the Tigers backfield. The run and pass game of Newton will be hard for Silsbee to stop. I wouldn't be surprised if Newton bust this game wide open leaving no doubt. Not saying they will but just in case don't be surprised.

    LCM VS WOS

4 fumbles the 1st week. But I think there was only 2 drops out of 13 attempts. Chain gang doesn't have that problem. Defense should pitch a shutout.

  23. to be honest it has been a long time since The Tigers have stopped PNG. I know yall made it to the state finals last year but that doesn't mean a thing when you facing a school with bigger numbers on a hot humid Friday night. Silsbees guys were cramping right and left, im sure because they were going both ways. the tigers have some talent should be fine.

  26. This is the game of the week and could go either way. No matter who wins it will not be an upset. I will not predict this game because I am rarely wrong and don't want to give anyone a heads up.

  32. This will be a great game. I do not think Newton will win easily like most expect. Silsbee will have a lot more depth than Newton this year and has a great backfield that will see the endzone quite a few times. Though, I think Newton will outscore Silsbee to find the win. Win or lose, Newton will be a better team from playing a solid and fast Silsbee team.

  33. Barlow looked good as usual running the ball for TCU. Scored his 1st TD . I think we will see him in the backfield as a Freshman often .

    WOS 2019

The quality of the opponent should count for something. If all things being equal. If cuero and WOS both won 55-3 against lower quality teams, then I'd agree with you.

  43. That they should.. it will be fun to see I know the first two been scrimmages. But Newton, PA, WOS, now United, next week Silsbee. For this area that’s a stiff competition and a tough gauntlet to run through. But that will only make them better and rise up for district play.

  44. Watched this game.and boy am I impressed with the team speed of TCU. Patterson has some burners. I didn't get to see Darwins TD, the time ran out on my recording. Blasted thing. I did get to see a replay of it. I'm sure proud of this young man. He has a great future ahead of him. Also I noticed that TCU has some doggone good Freshmen. That cornerback that played for an injured guy looked stout.

Seeing this just makes me proud to be a SE Texan. So glad that our kids get to play in beautiful digs. Complete contrast of what we had to play on 15 years ago..

  49. Coaches did him no favors with the play calling. The kid will be alright once he stops staring down 1 receiver. The d played way better in the second half. 1 positive to take away is we had no unsportsmanlike penalties.
