Darwin played great when his name was called this weekend. Roney Elam had the best game of his career with A&M and is finally going to be a starter for a full season. So, I see him having a big year. The Foster brothers had good games with McNeese this weekend as well. It is exciting watching and hearing about all the Newton boys doing well.

WO-S TO REPLACE SCORCHED TURF....The new turf at Dan R Hooks stadium was scorched beyond repair during last night's Mustang victory over the LC-M Bears. Artificial surface specialist Lean McTiltry said, "I've seen this before in rare instances when these mega-athletes are involved. I told the Stark people before installation that with the athletes they have this could happen". McTiltry said the replacement turf would be coated with a concentrated Scotchgard solution to prevent rescorching.

Run support would have helped Nolan Ryan increase his win record. Not sure how many he lost 1-0....2-1...etc. Also, Ryan pitched a bunch of 1 hitters that the hit happened in the 9th inning.
