I just knew it was going to be kind of be difficult the first year for the kids from different parts of town coming together to gel... and the crazy part is some of the best athletes at United aren’t even playing but I’m pretty sure they’re noticing and may be more willing to join the team now that it’s becoming appealing. Livingston had a TD called back against Shepherd, two TDs called back against Orangefield, and another against Liberty that would have made it a game. They are explosive, just gotta clean up a few things. The field will be fine, there has not been much rain here. So no benefit of a sloppy field. Jasper will do what they want. But it wouldn't surprise me if Lions got 3 TDs.

As much as some appear to really not want it to be the case, it is Hefner by a decent margin. He was a high D1 recruit for a reason and It says a lot that when Buzz got the A&M job, he amped up his recruitment even more. And Buzz is one of the most respected guys at the collegiate level. Hayden’s ability to shoot ball, combined with his size and athleticism, and his ability to make his teammates better is going to make him a problem at the next level as well.

The truth of the matter is WOS defensive speed can keep up with any team in this area. It’s no coincidence that the only team to beat them is equally as fast and athletically talented. Besides the atmosphere that WOS brings to the table along with their physical speed is a awesome combination for winning. WOS didn’t become the team with the greatest winning % in Texas High School Football History by accident.

So let me get this straight, in comparing two teams the head to head record really doesn't matter, correct? I would have to say that if one team beats the other 9 out of 12 times they are the better program.

...and as long as long as both teams are healthy....

Based on what they lost (players and coaches) Newton has been the most impressive team I have seen this year. United would be my 2nd choice.

But I've said it weeks back. Newton,west orange,west brook will be playing in December. And now even more I'll be pulling for united. Sure w.o has things to work on.especially offense.but that will come with game experience.and bcz of the jasper/silsbee losses last year they way they loss.really made me look at defensive side of the ball.our kids had to grow up and in a hurry.everyone best football is ahead of them.as the year goes on we will see some gud football.

3 days of rain expected to saturate most fields. Bosto said last night everything should clear out by game time Friday. But only a weather man can be wrong half the time and keep a job.

People saying this district is weak this year. Let's be honest, it's been under whelming for a while. When it was two districts, we beat up on each other first round and most pumped their chest until the second round exit. There have been a few exceptions of 3rd and 4th round teams, but for the most part for 5a, we're pretty weak in this area. Roschon sparked PNG to have a couple of deeper runs, but other then that take last year for example. PAT, KWP, and Porter lost 1st round, New Caney lost second round. Our district went like this, Ned lost second round giving up 63 points, Barbers Hill lost 1st round giving up 62 points, PNG lost 3rd round giving up 53 points, and Santa Fe lost 1st round giving 53 points. Let's just say we've all been down for a while consistently. We can stop saying the district is weak THIS year. My .02

BH , Ned, PNG & Crosby should be playoff teams. Lee is going to surprise and kick someone out of the top 4 hope it ain’t BH . PNG still seems to be the top team to beat. I can’t put BH ahead of them until they can beat PNG which hasn’t been done to my memory.
