  3. Well, to be fair the databases I researched only go back to '88. There may be more titles. But according to what I saw the Lady Lions' 1989 title is the most recent and the only one I saw out of of SETX from 1988-2019.

  4. Picking the best player in the area is hard lol Everyone has a different definition of being the best player. Potential? Scoring? Overall? Athletic ability? Who is getting a scholarship to the better program? Most important to their team? So many factors to break down. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just because someone has the potential to go further in their career does not mean they are a better HS basketball player. We see it time and time again! Colleges go for potential, size, academics, athleticism, etc. If you were picking against someone else to create the best 5 man lineup of setx HS basketball, not everyone would pick the same person first. It really is a never ending discussion!

  5. Thanks for welcoming me to the group. Nederland has a young team, a new varsity coach, and can only improve from previous years. So I’m excited to watch the growth over the next 4 years my daughter is there.

  6. Because if Jasper actually beat WOS, Officer Barbrady wanted to go put his life savings on the line at The Nugget.... because it would be the luckiest day of his life.

  12. 6A- Longview, undefeated so far, blown everyone out 5A- Lufkin, only loss to Longview and by ONLY 3 4A- Carthage, dominant on all cylinders 4A- Henderson, I think Henderson could possibly do something, have to have that rematch with Carthage and get some lucky breaks 4A- Jasper, I think Jasper could make a run, and do something great 4A- Gilmer- Could definitely shake things up, strong team 3A- Diboll, could do something special 3A- Crockett, might could win a couple rounds in playoffs 3A-Newton, no words needed 3A- Hemphill , way better than people give them credit 2A- San Augustine, I personally think they will win state 2A- Alto, doing something over there, really hot right now

  18. Yea but I want a game that is worth freezing over and staying until the end. Lol! I’m afraid Diboll won’t have that type of game for a couple of weeks at least. 😀😀

  20. I know for sure colleges recruit based on potential. When I say potential, I mean body frame, size, etc. Some HS kids are done growing and have filled out. Some have a lot of room to develop. This is coming from college coaches that I have talked to about recruiting.

    Right Call?

I do not know the rule, but in my opinion they would count the 3, reset the clock and make the other team take the ball out. Their bucket should not count.

    Right Call?

That's my point. They should count SFA basket but not Niagra. Still allow Niagra to inbound. Will have to reset game clock.

  29. Montana could have took a D1 offer but he chose another path and that’s fine but I think he tore an ACL during his mission time away from the game. I could be wrong but I heard it was a sandy beach type of backyard football game and that was the end of that.

  34. I can’t wait to check this game out Friday. I think BH wins this game fairly easily unless they just turn the ball over a lot or kill drives with penalties. I think BH will do nothing but continue to get better in the years to come under Westerburg.

  44. Ok back to business! Friday is taking it’s sweet arse time getting here. I’m hoping for BH to come out and take care of business! Thanks to the UIL they put that # 10 bullseye on our back, teams will be playing just that much harder to kick our butts. Region 3 is a beast with a bunch of talent play every game like its your last!

  45. Uh, you don't make the rules who can and cannot respond to your post. THE ADMINISTATOR And by the way, stop bugging me with your frivolous reports of posts of anybody on this thread who says something. It is getting irritating.

  46. I gotcha, but you do the same thing😃 you don’t want me to compare a game from 3 months ago then in the same breath bring up a 2011 BH team as it is relevant to Friday’s contest. The beauty of all of this is Saturday one of us will be close in our assessment while the other isn’t. People have different ways to evaluate what they think is going to happen in a game. Both of our assessments are clouded because you underestimate BH and I overestimate them😃 seeya Saturday oh and I think the Coogs will win by 14 IMO.

  47. They played a good game last year, but Im afraid Diboll could beat them by 70 if they wanted to, but Coach Morrison is a good coach and never likes to beat teams eyes shut, heck we were leaving our 3rd string in after the first quarter against almost every team in district
    1 point
  48. My post was just to show you how much it doesn't make sense to try to use the transitive property to predict games, especially ones from 3 months ago. You have no idea of game conditions, injury situations, position changes, etc., that led to the outcome. Since I'm sure you don't know this I'll give yo you some BH history. Last time BH won the district was 2011 when they also finished 9-1 and played the 4th seed in bi-district just like they get now. They averaged about 40ppg that year in district play and had three 600+ yard rushers I believe. They also had the best statistical defense in the district. Ozen put 40 on them and sent BH home in the first round because BH didn't matchup well with them even though they had already beaten Nederland, who finished 7-0 in district play, earlier that year. I didn't think we had a chance to win hardly any games this year so saying we don't have a chance against Willowridge is far from a slight in my view. I'm sure Willowridge has looked at Crosby's district and our schedule scores and thinks the exact same thing.

Being a devoted fan for your team is the key. All teams need fans in the stands whether the team is a playoff team, or if they only get 1 win on the season. Also, band parents, I am glad that you support your kids playing at halftime, however, these are football games, not band concerts. The football players need all of the fans support, stay to the end every game. PNG faithful get your tickets this week, be there early for the game & show that Indian pride. Totally commit your support to the team, or stay home, we need fans who are there to root on the boys doing their best. Period!!!
