There are going to be a good number of 4th place teams going home in round 1. The solution is to get better and not finish 4th. Then you won’t hafta face teams such as Mart in bidistrict. Either that, or borrow the 4 Horseman next go round.

^^^This. This mentality is why we are raising a bunch of puddins. Let them catch a butt whippin and learn from it. High School sports is ultimately about becoming a man. And sometimes in life the issues your facing don't just kneel and let the clock run out.

So just for a re-cap: Manvel goes TO Hall Stadium and beats FB Marshall who was ranked #2 at the time giving them the best win in the state. They beat 12-5A’s 4th place team by 35, they were only up 3 points entering the 4th quarter on the own district’s 4th place team. Yet, you somehow agree that Nederland looked good and Manvel looks vulnerable? Got it.

Here are some stats for those who don't like the coaching staff: Lidney Thompson's 1st year: 6-4 (didn't make the playoffs) Curtis Barbary's 1st year: 5-4-1 (didn't make the playoffs) WT Johnston's 1st year: 9-3 (Out in 2nd round) Probably should have gotten rid of all of those coaches after the first season. Who knows what kind of program Newton could have..... Maybe you supposedly "Newton fans" "Born and raised" should study the word support. You don't support until things aren't perfect then want their head. Pump your brakes, we're still playing.

You sure do talk a lot of crap. You should go to the fieldhouse and voice your concerns to the coaches and see how that conversation turns out. Those guys are working their tails off 7 days a week trying to get these kids prepared to play and instead of commending them for what they are doing you continue to bash them. Sometimes you have to blame the players too. Coaches aren’t out there making them throw 3 picks or fumbling the ball. Kids are playing hard trying to make plays and they get a penalty it happens. Get over it move on and get ready for the next one.

I was able to watch on Texan live and honestly, Nederland looked good. Really impressed with the run game. Manvel Just had too many weapons. Some of the play calling was suspect, especially in the long Nederland drive in the third quarter. Overall, my takeaway is Manvel looked vulnerable. I don’t think they will win the region.

This was the most frustrating Nederland team that I can remember.

If Newton makes these kinds of mistakes against Dangerfield or Paul Pewitt, they will not win.

In Ames 2:30 on FS1 After the loss to tcu, I was given 3 choices until the next Texas win. 1) Can't change clothes 2) Can't take a shower. 3) Can't post on boards. Thank God for Dicker the kicker!

Who cares just play the damn game.

To run the Slot-T good, the kids have to 100% buy into it. It is a mentality. But when kids watch college or professional football they don't see any teams running it so it is hard to get kids bought into it. The problem with HJ was that their defense couldn't stop people from scoring and the Slot-T is not the offense you run if you need to come from behind or get into a score every possession battle. They scored quite a bit this year though. Most Slot-T teams don't score more than 30 points a game. You have to have a strong defense and run that clock when you do have the ball in order to be successful. At the end of the day, I don't like the Slot-T but that is my 2 cents on it.

True, but we can easily see their actions. You are truly splitting hairs to sell your point...not buying. I can judge someone's actions without judging what is in their heart, people do it all the time, and there is nothing wrong with it. It's called discernment.

It was 48-14 with 8 minutes left. I wouldn't read too much into the scoring in garbage time against backups. We're not where we need to be yet, though. Still too sloppy....

BH will get there (where is there...IDK), but Coach Westerburg has proven that he can take a growing community and make it great. Let's be honest if you're a family living on the East side of Houston, why would you not want to send your kids to Barber's Hill schools. Coach Westerburg will make that place as attractive as it can be from an athletic standpoint, and the snowball will roll!
