Those were good teams, playing with them even to half means district play will be good though

  3. Mainly because AD's and Supt. don't want it. But another reason is that a lot of the divisional districts require more travel and because basketball and baseball play games during the week (Tuesday), no one wants to be traveling any extra on school nights. Also, UIL wants regional and state tournaments at same venue and you cannot have two divisions in each classification playing at same venue. You would have to start on a Monday which no one wants.

  5. I know I explained this earlier and will again. Shortly after stepping down, Coach Hodges reached out to me to explain the steps that lead to his stepping down and turning overt the reigns to Coach Wallace. Again, it was a divorced father who had wanted to see his only son play his final year of football. He had hoped that final year would be at H-D, which is why he waited until it was settled that his son would play his senior year elsewhere. He was still around the team during the week, but the position allowed him to get away on Friday and see his son play. Was it foolish of Coach Hodges to hold out hope until so late in the game? Maybe. But then I could never understand the circumstances. I have no children of my own and I grew up is a household with parents who have now been married for over 50 years. As to Coach Wallace, I think you are underestimating his skills, he had been Coach Hodges' right hand man since he got there and possesses plenty of football knowledge. Simply because the Bobcats had a less then successful year doesn't mean that Coach Wallace was not qualified for the job. You are entitled to your opinion but I would point out that over the last several years, Hull-Daisetta has run off a number of decent coaches. You don't want to gain a reputation like the one you are earning by starting a topic like this.

  6. Absolutely right. Never mind the fact that HD graduated what little talent they had over the last couple seasons, had their best returner transfer, and played with a bunch of freshmen, oh..and played some of those ^ games with injuries... None of that matters. They should've won district and made a deep run. Excuse me while I roll my eyes. LOL

Our stats are accurate. Gathered while doing our broadcast and then double checked watching game film. And you are a Giddings person.

  9. I’m not even from giddings. I follow central Texas teams. But hey I have my state state championship ring and my degree from a division 1 University which I attended on a athletic scholarship. Later troll lol.

  11. Totally agree with that. I did see a lot of improvement as each game was played, just wish we could get Farr healthy to help underneath. We jus have to have a lot more shooting from several people if not they will just continue to play box 1 against us like HF did. The coach even told us at the end of the game that was his only objective was to have a couple of fresh legs rotate every 2 minutes and take #2 out of the game. He told us at the end of the game he was coming into it with the mind set of playing a 4 on 4 game. #10 had a heck of a shooting game against EC and so did #15, which helped us tremendously. If we don't have several scoring then they will just un a box 1 and it will be a 4 on 4 game. Of course the talent we met up against in the tournament was exceptionally good and we held our own in several different areas. Just got to get away from so many fouls and play solid defense.

  19. There are some other changes statewide but the most significant one I see is Lancaster. They will drop to 4A DI. They are currently in the 5A DII state semifinals and their basketball team is ranked at the top in 5A right now.

  20. Only thing I see right now is the revision put Lumberton back in 4A. I don't see these revisions effecting any of our other schools.

  22. Jasper is def deserving of being on this list as well as United. It really surprises that neither is here YET. I think once Jasper plays HJ that they will get a little bit more notice.

  23. Best of luck to Silsbee. I've been out of the loop but looks like Smith's been doing a great job with those guys. WO-S lit up Wimberley a couple years ago in the same round. Could tell experience was a factor. Silsbee by 10.

  31. This whole topic on conversation is stupid. I’m going to come to yalls places of work and start a thread about how bad at your job you are on an Internet forum. These dudes have kids and families and lives to live. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say nothing at all. HD coaches love their students and love their jobs. I know must of them personally. Hodges is a great guy and so is Wallace. Get off their case.

    Schultz fired...

Well, I will say it like this. As a Lamar University alum, I am PERFECTLY ok with going with Jeff Traylor. For if Lamar does hire Art Briles, then LU might as well do away with the football program, or for that matter the athletic program as a whole as far as I am concerned as my little butt will never be in the stands of Provost-Umphrey or Vincent-Beck and will never be in the seats at the Montagne Center for ANY event. And I bet I am not the only one.

  35. In all honesty, y'all were just young in a tough district. And Hodges stepping down hurt because of timing too. But y'all will be better talent wise the next 2-3 years, and you'll be down in a better district.
    1 point
  36. You’re right, my apologies to the almighty. I should have made myself more clear. I don’t put Mecca in with the district since that would be too low for them, what I meant to say is BH will be on top of the district while Mecca sits on top of the region 😂😉

    Big Time Offense

Over the weekend Aledo and Northshore accounted for over 1800 yards of total offense between the two of them. Aledo- 934 NS - 878 In the regional finals no less. Unbelievable.
