I have always been in favor of a rotation amongst the 3. I really doubt that those who have not played a state championship game in Jerry World have their memories sullied by the fact that it wasn't played there. But realism sets in and it is really a fait accompli that the championships will stay at AT&T. Factors include that Fox Sports Southwest is a Metroplex based broadcaster and DCTF who is heavily involved in the broadcast, is a Metroplex based publisher. I am sure that these have played factors in the UIL keeping the games in Arlington. But perhaps the biggest of the factors is that the Cowboys and Jerry Jones have been receptive to high school football, making both AT&T and the Star in Frisco readily available for both regular season and playoff high school games, while Houston has not. I recall a time not so very long ago that the Texans refused to host high school playoff games at NRG for.........SIGH...... the fear that these immature high schoolers would tear up their beloved brown patch field and effect that oh so quality football (yes, that is sarcasm) that they play. Just like all of us, the UIL will go where it is perceived that they are wanted and like it or not, the perception is AT&T.2 points -
Why aren't football and basketball districts the same
BADSANTA and one other reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
Wait. What about all the special teams? Kickoff team, kickoff receive team, punt team, punt receive team, field goal team, extra point team? That should be 66 which makes 88 players for football.2 points -

The loss to West Brook was a heart breaker. Missing those three shots under the basket in last few seconds of regulation was tough.2 points -
Just some facts to chew on.... Here is an interesting fact for my American friends: During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, "The People of the U.S.A." produced the following:22 aircraft carriers,8 battleships,48 cruisers,349 destroyers,420 destroyer escorts,203 submarines,34 million tons of merchant ships,100,000 fighter aircraft,98,000 bombers,24,000 transport aircraft,58,000 training aircraft,93,000 tanks,257,000 artillery pieces,105,000 mortars,3,000,000 machine guns, and2,500,000 military trucks. We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb, and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany. It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama Administration couldn't even build a web site that worked.1 point

Agreed... kinda wish they would use NRG and Alamodome for all Semi final games. But keep AT&T the Championship Venue.1 point -
My rankings for Dec. 22
bullets13 reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
I am just going off some of the eye tests I have so far this season and the rankings are a week to week thing. Some of my reasoning is about how well a team is playing and not necessarily who would beat who. Strength of schedule is a factor. In regards to HJ and Lumberton, if I were to bet, my money would be on HJ straight up and would put them as 10 point favorites. Now betting them to cover might be a different issue.1 point -

I think I’d put my trust in the guy that actually coached the teams that have won state championships and basically go 3-4 rounds deep every season over people on a message board complaining LOL1 point

It's tough when there are only 93 teams in the division. That is 5.8125 teams per district if you divide it out. With districts like 16-4A, all those teams really need to be in the same district, so that obviously takes away. I just saw Padilla's this morning, and I will let you know he does have 1 four and 6 five team districts....and of course it's different than mine.1 point
