Evadale Rebel Boys 2011 Evadale lost to Eula in controversial state semi final game; 2012 made playoffs; 2013 didn't make playoffs 2014 made playoffs for last year in 1A then for 2015 jumped to 2A and have made playoffs each year since. scratching for 2020 Evadale 6 year run started 2014 season.

Don’t underestimate Nederland! Nederland isn’t graduating anyone, they had a first year head coach, and started 3 freshmen this season. This year was a learning curve, expect to see them stronger next year!

stats dont always tell the story though because teams run different systems. A girl on a team with a press system should have more steals than a girl on a team who nags their hat on half court man d.... same with points... No one sends stats in anymore sadly....

One of them is back this year, after a 3 win season. Obviously there are factors that play into every kid's situation, and I will not speak about kids that are on campus, specifically. As for Bush, his mom is from Buna. I don't know his father, but I am assuming he is from Silsbee. Bush's cousin, Shannon Robinson, attended Buna until his 8th grade season. At that point, he transferred to Silsbee. Jeremy Johnson also lived in Buna, played youth sports for Buna, before making the move over to Silsbee as a 7th grader. Bray went to Silsbee, spent a little time at Legacy, before coming back to Silsbee for his freshman year.

Dayton will not be in the basement. Coach Ware will change the culture there rather quickly.

The time of former coaches making it into high positions in the school system has come to an end which is bad for athletics. Majority of the upper admin has turned into academic people, their goals are different.

Definitely not true. I believe she is a control freak and wants to be in charge of every aspect and doesn't actually know who a good fit for BU would be. She just wants someone there who says the right things to her and won't challenge her on what she wants done.

Kountze loses 3 Seniors and returns 8. 8th grade was average this year. 7th grade went undefeated and beat everyone by 40+. Very nice group coming up for the boys and girls in the 7th grade.

And with 4 teams making the playoffs and some of the 5 team districts.....some of these schools with rich histories like Silsbee or Hj etc. may take a long time to research when they missed the playoffs.

Immediately, when I read your comment, "But they play the games for a reason..." my thought went to the boy's side, not the girl's. More often than not, the dominate girls team is going to prevail. In my opinion, those underdog victories usually result from a coach knowing what he or she is doing. Also, my opinion, it's easier to coach up an underdog boys team, than it is a girls'. For example, boys' side, I'm likely to have an equally athletic player on my team that I can match-up with the opponent's best player. Girls' side, who am I going to select to keep up with Carter one-on-one? I believe someone commented earlier about slowing the game down. That will help BH because the few games I've seen, they run out of gas in the 4th quarter. If BH is going to get past game 2 in the playoffs....will require better conditioning. Yes, I agree PNG has a better shot than anyone else in the district, but the district is probably the weakest I've seen it in a long time.

Same here. I remember waking up around 6am to watch Saturday morning cartoons. They would last until 10 and were great.

1. BH 2. Crosby 3. PNG 4. KP 5. Nederland 6. Texas City 7. Santa Fe 8. Dayton BH, Crosby, and PNG will compete for the DC, while KP and Ned battle it out for the final playoff spot. Dayton and SF will be in the basement. As for TC, they're a bit of a wild card. While they have struggled the past couple of years, they were in a much tougher district with Friendswood, Shadow Creek, FB Hightower, Angleton, and Richmond Foster.

FYI. He was also a head coach at Midland Lee, Highland Park, and Georgetown. Pretty sure he didn't have cupcake schedules at those stops. Give him some credit for what he has accomplished in his career instead of minimizing what he is doing now.

I wouldn't agree that this makes you the best coach either. There is no doubt that any coach is judged on wins and/or titles but there much more to it than that. Every single year.. the coach that wins the state championship does not necessarily mean that he/she is the best coach in the state. No more than just simply beating someone else doesn't make you a better coach than them. There are a lot of variables. It could easily be argued that Kevin Foster is the best varsity head coach in the area currently. I'm pretty certain that he doesn't lead in wins and I don't think he has any state titles. But.. he is consistently successful each year with small-averaged sized kids. They don't ever have any D1 type talent.. The coaches in the area with state titles, how many titles have they won withOUT D1 talent on their teams? Not to downgrade any accomplishment.. But then you get into the "well Big Sandy gets to start practice in August".. which certainly doesn't hurt. So I don't know.. all I know is that there are coaches who get the absolute most out of what they have and then there are coaches who get really great players.

WH will run into District 22 in the 2nd rd, playing the 3rd place team which will be SA or Garrison most likely...and will likely be the last game of the season for the Oilers.

Agreed. If they can go 3-2 or better in pre-district, they'll impress me. That's the toughest schedule on paper that Jasper has put together in a LONG time.

That is a tough schedule. Could make the playoffs with 3 or 4 losses and be salty.
