I seen where Yates is shooting for the the National record tonight for breaking their 2010 record of 16 straight games at a 100 are more... I would hate to be the team playing them tonight 🤷🏻♂️🤣2 points

Its all water under the bridge but stop with the he had ties narrative its tired and played out, and you know he wasnt the only one who transferred in. But I get whatever makes it sound good. These new guys yall crying about would’ve been JV players at the their schools. Guess he knows something these other coaches don't know !!!2 points
-
Sounds to me like grown men haters if it fits your narrative then its ok but when it doesn't you have a problem. If Tigee had a terrible season and their record was 8-25 none of you would have a thing to say . FYI relationships were established way before any of this So called recruitment stuff took place. Kids gravitate towards this man and if my son was still in school he would be playing for him. Wouldnt care if he had to sit out a year or whatever the case was . You really think he's the only coach in this area who has kids not from the community or recruiting as you say. Wheres the energy for the all the other schools I mentioned earlier like I said no comment on that huh . Go find a hobby or something instead of crying on a message board because you got beat2 points

People should not include Silsbee in this recruiting trend going on. Silsbee has been dominating SETX in basketball for a long time with SILSBEE kids. Bigger schools that Silsbee should NEVER be able to play with. It is what we do from Silsbee and people really really hate that. On all levels!!! Name me 3 BASKETBALL players that have moved to Silsbee in HIGH SCHOOL to help them win in the last 10 years.1 point -

My point is kids that transfer in before high school is not so much frowned upon but when they show up as soph., juniors and sometimes seniors and when it's in the same year as a new head coach, then on the surface it looks suspicious. Particularly when they have zero ties to a community. Question, would these young men had transferred to HF had the same head coach been there? If they were in such a bad situation, then why not transfer before? I am all about parents moving their children to better situations or in some cases it being a must move (jobs, family issues, etc.) It's funny that 3 of these kids were transferred in as "football" guys so not to hit the radar from the other basketball coaches in the district. Sorry, but that is suspicious. I don't recall any Silsbee kids on those state championship teams being in that same situation other than maybe Calvin Tyler and everybody knows he had major Silsbee ties and was a football player that played basketball. I think Tigee is a very good coach, but lets pump the brakes on it being all about him getting their basketball program turned around in less than a season. Those "new" guys have a lot to do with it.1 point -

You gotta play somewhere I guess. I imagine it’s pretty hard to make the team or get playing time in Bmt or PA. Those teams come at you with 10-12 good basketball players and can sub a fresh 5 without missing a beat. I’m sure a lot of talented kids don’t make the cut. I just wish they’d come play at Vidor and be a star lol, I know... not going to happen.1 point -

And let’s just be clear, Rideaux would make most teams in this area better. He can be polarizing when it comes to other team’s fans, but I can tell you he can flat out coach. (And it’s little known that’s he pretty darn good coaching on the gridiron as well). He’s a passionate guy so some will not like when his emotions get the best of him. But he’s as real as real can be. What makes him elite when it comes to coaching though is a couple of things. He is exceptionally bright and works his tail off with preparation, and he is outstanding with the Xs and Os. But when I tell you he cares for his kids, that is a drastic understatement. I mean he cares for his kids to the point he will do anything in his power to help them, while they play for him or 10 years down the road. And kids aren’t dumb. They know when someone loves them unconditionally. Those kids love him in return and will give him everything they’ve got. Those of us that have known him knew whoever eventually gave him his first head gig was going to get even more than they realized. And those who he worked for before this year will tell you how special he is. Coach Mitchell at Lumberton has done an amazing job there. And he might be the biggest Coach Rideaux fan.1 point

Please excuse me while I LOL. Apartment complexes / rental properties have completely diminished this idea. As stated above, open enrollment doesn't determine eligibility but RESIDENCE DOES. The UIL, the district, nor the coaches can do anything about where a kid moves to along with his/her legal guardian. A change of permanent residency is all it takes for a kid to be eligible to play somewhere else 15 days after the transfer date. If you don't think this is happening in mass numbers all across the state every year (especially bigger cities) then you're sadly mistaken.1 point -
Every program you mentioned has had transfers and has had transfers recently. Kids have parents who make decisions for those kids, including where they go to school. The rules are then applied as to when they can play. Some of the top coaches in this area have had a lot of these transfers, although I have no desire to point out coaches (who didn’t move those kids) or the kids who did nothing wrong in my opinion It’s a compliment to a coach when parents want their kids to learn from him or her. The kids HF has returning will most certainly be better this year. And like many other really good coaches, their school and program will continue to attract players. And lest I be misunderstood, I agree Silsbee, HJ, and Lumberton do things the right way. The implication, however, regarding HF is misguided.1 point
