LCM travels to HF on Tuesday and the winner of that game is in the playoffs, I believe. And let me say for the record that as good of a coach as Rideaux is, he may be a better teacher in my book. He's old school and has kids put phones away and actually use the physical copy of their book. No Google or social media. Just in your face, challenging, confrontational discussions about real world, controversial topics. And he's not afraid to hurt a student's feelings if it will help prepare them better. I hope HF knows how good of a teacher they gained in addition to a good basketball coach. Not many of those kids will earn a living in basketball. He prepares kids for life. In a world where we need good liberals for good honest debate with us conservatives, Rideaux is a breath of fresh air.

🙄 were you there? I won’t get too disrespectful but I honestly doubt there’s a 4A district in the state with better coaches from top to bottom than this one. There’s more than one that, IMO, would have more hardware if they coached 100 miles or so away than the current coach there because they are capable of making in-game adjustments and altering game plans based on the opponent. HJ’s coach is one of them.

Super proud of my kid and her teammates, with the win over Dayton, they now have the best record in school history with 24 wins and 11 losses on the year. They have had their ups and downs this year, but have remained hungry. The second place district finish is the best district finish for them in school history as well. Now let’s go and get the first playoff win in school history. My kid has started on varsity all four years and was a part of a 4 or 5 win team her Freshman year, they then improved to 8 or 9 wins her Sophomore season, then last year they finished with 23 wins and the first playoff appearance with a third place district finish and now they have followed that up with a second place finish in district earning their second ever playoff appearance in school history! Congrats ladies on another great year!

I think one of the schools to be helped the most by realignment will be Vidor. I mean honestly have you seen what the 5A district will look like that we are leaving. They added BMT United and Crosby to a district with PAM and Ned. We can’t compete there but in this new Orange County +2 district we could surprise some people.

I said from the beginning that Bush is the best player in SETX... And I believed we would see HJ and Silsbee play 3 times this year. But I never thought about HF being the one to make that possible. HF made it a fun ride this year.

Isn’t it amazing when a player gets the ball in the backcourt and dribbles it hard up the sideline with a defender on his hip but all the while he’s flailing his head violently in the opposite direction as if the defender were punching him with steady right hooks it’s almost as if there were a second shooter firing at him from the grassy knoll when you see the head snap back and to the left then on about the fourth or fifth imaginary slap from the heavens he gets a foul call and gets to shoot free throws because the guy on defense was obviously using the force to cause his head to jerk back and give him whiplash I’m so glad these boys have the referees out there to protect them from these thugs and bullies who actually move their feet to stay in front of their man in a blatant attempt the deter the offensive threat when it’s 40 ft from the basket. I think it’s amazing, the best play in basketball.

I wouldn't say debacle, this isn't a monumental upset. Now if Cleveland, Dayton or someone like that did then yeah definitely a debacle.

That's exactly what happened and they left 21 wide open and he made us pay for it. As for Nate, he got 3 fouls early and a 4th early in the 3rd qtr. Not to take from Nederland big win, but those three refs were complete GARBAGE. They missed TONS of calls on both sides. Saw a Nederland player literally hugging a PAM player with no call. On the other end saw PAM players get away with some things as well.

Everyone is good now and if you want to keep advancing then you have to face and beat great teams!

I'll take the wait and see approach. All is speculation right now as to who the finalist are, but as far a Graham goes, I know he's better than the current DC from West Brook and I'm hearing it won't be him. I also know that El Paso area in general is not really good at football and really don't produce the athletes you see in abundance here in SETX and Houston area. He had a string of 3 pretty good season in El Paso, then I believe he switched to another EP school and sucked. I also know that same school, after Graham left, they put up another 0-10 season. Hopefully, If Graham is the guy, maybe he learned a great deal from Coach Samples (darn good coach) as an assistant there. I'm also sure that Graham is a better coach than A.L.

Add United to this conversation. We return probably the beat returning player in the area, 6'5" Arceneaux as a Junior and the two freshmen in our team that year gets lot of playing time. Ome has been starting. They'll be sophomores next year (6'5" Porchia and 6'4" Yates).
