Huh?

what kills me about people like you who just talk about what you dont know. Why hasnt there been not one mention of HJ and its "recruits" over the years including this year? The best player on the team "#5" went to a charter school in beaumont last year and all of a sudden hes starting at HJ and will be first team all district. But no one talks about this?? i wonder why? could it be race? Also Hf's "transfer's' actually live in their school district. some of you people are just sad.

Simple, I don’t expect Crosby to be as good as the ‘13, ‘14, ‘15, ‘17 or ‘18(pre-Howard injury) teams they fielded that went 48-5 over four and a half seasons. I do expect the team to be good enough/strong enough to compete for the region as it’s currently structured with the division splits. Splitting divisions so we don’t get teams like Shadow Creek, George Ranch, Manvel, Foster and Ridge Point in the bi-district and area rounds has been/will be a God-send for this region.

I think winning games would be the culture change though. Right now I would imagine kids are playing because of the love of the game and potential scholarship offers. If you can put some pelts on the wall I think you would have kids that come out/become more dedicated just because they want to be part of a winning program. That “filler” is what I think helps to separate our teams from some of the more elite teams in the DFW and Central Texas. Considering the situation he was in I always thought Nelson did a good job at Ozen and to me Ozen was just as tough as some of those HISD jobs. I think it’s a little easier to sell the kids what Nelson would bring versus trying to sell them 0-30. I hope it works out though, we need more powerhouses in this region.

We played sloppy and Nederland played well. They worked the ball around nicely and gained momentum late in 1st and rode it a while. We open up with Texas City which we beat early in the season. If we come back together as a team and hit the 3s, we have a chance. Nederland has improved over the later half of the season and may get some playoff wins this year.

And the Winner is - Trump! Hands down. Even Bloomberg alluded to it.

Kids who never played varsity and would’ve been on jv at whatever school they attended this year . Cry me a river and get over it . UIL and DC found them to be in compliance so what’s the excuse now. Technically ppl move for all kinds of reasons so don’t assume these kids moved for basketball to a school with a losing history . Again Get over it and move on . Like what was said earlier HJ,Silsbee,EC, Nederland all get kids who have moved into the district regardless of family ties or whatever and y’all keep quiet about that. Yes race is involved Davis is white Rideaux is black Yet no one speaks on how kids come to HJ and play. U do know it’s a parents decision to bring a kid over. But y’all will praise Davis for winning and say Rideaux wins because of recruits it’s sad

Not sure what this rant is about? What in the world could anything said about a transfer have to with race? I don’t know right off hand who #5 is but I do know an all district team hasn’t been chosen. What would you think would happen to a transfer if a coach they wanted to play for left? If the DC doesn’t have a problem with the transfers I certainly don’t have one, I also wouldn’t expect them to stay if the coach left. That’s just my opinion, that and 50 cents will get me a cup of coffee.

I think those transfers had half of HF points , those 2 guys have helped a ton!!!

They may have won one of the two flips. Woodville may have been the team that wanted to flip for home and home and won. Then lost the flip on venue.

Lol, if you do the math you’ll see their neighbor Desoto has signed more kids and has even more transfers in recent history. I would pretty much say the same for their other neighbor, Cedar Hill. Lancaster is also right there with those three 6A powerhouses and robs kids from Oak Cliff who should normally go to Carter and SOC. Those kids in south Dallas move around just like our kids do on the SW side of Houston. The difference is the coaching and level of dedication in the DFW.

I watched a lil bit on LHN. Saw JD3 out the bullpen in a jam in the 2nd. 1st and 2nd no outs. BB, K, K, 3R 2B, K. Had some good pitches get away from him in the rain. I look forward to some home games when it warms up.

Smh, I don't understand why BISD didn't hire Jeff Nelson? I know he has some warts and would probably be hard to get by some in the administration but to me you need a guy that fits the culture . . . who also happens to be able to be a solid coach. Not someone who looks at the job and says, "Dang, with this talent all I really have to do is be a competent coach and I can use it as a stepping stone to get me somewhere else." Again, I know he probably wasn't even seriously considered but there aren't any coaches on that list with noticeably better resumes. I will say I may have reached for Tyrone Carter at Huntsville before giving Nelson another shot though.

Let this sink in BISD allowed two of its brightest young coaches Tigee Rideaux(HF) & Micheal Thomas (Temple HS) to leave the district & rebuild struggling programs . Both have made the playoffs after droughts. They were told they were too young in so many words because they would’ve able t handle kids discipline wise . Guess the jokes on them !!!! I think one of the schools to be helped the most by realignment will be Vidor. I mean honestly have you seen what the 5A district will look like that we are leaving. They added BMT United and Crosby to a district with PAM and Ned. We can’t compete there but in this new Orange County +2 district we could surprise some people.
