  2. There’s a difference. I pay in many many many thousands each year, because I’m willing to work for it, and not accept the fact that I can choose to do nothing and let the left wing-nuts keep me down by buying my vote with just enough to survive. I will give mine to my newly pregnant daughter and her husband to help with the birth cost. But those truck tires sound pretty good too... 🤭

  3. I have a solution. Accept it and buy gift certificates to local restaurants, and then do with them what you like (you could even donate to local “feed the hungry” type charities). Win-win. Besides, while declining may be noble (well, IS noble) in principle, I know good and well you’ve paid more than your fair share in taxes.

  4. Also heard someone suggest that in order to keep locally owned restaurants afloat, buy gift certificates from them. Helps them with cash flow and gives you or someone you give the certificate to to have a good meal somewhere in the future

  5. Everyone should consider shopping at small local businesses. Major corporations will survive long term, but your favorite mom and pop stops may not.

  7. You need tires? Shouldn't the government provide tires for you? Isn't cradle to grave govt care the best way to go?

  8. I owed on my income tax this year. Just about to get it back. That’s why I said it’s “MY MONEY” to Big Girl......and I need tires. She doesn't know the difference between assistance and living off the mammary gland of the working class.

    Trump days it's bad

It’s not a hoax. It’s a gross overreaction. And for that reason, Trump, being the businessman he is, is going to figure out how to keep us all afloat, so your kind can figure out how to forgive the student loan debt, Give free healthcare, cell phones, internet, housing, etc. to able-bodied people who refuse to work. You should thank him.

Suspends his presidential campaign> his campaign folks say it is untrue

  11. That is something we should always strive to do. If we don't we get accustomed to being taken care of feeling that we are owed something and feeling we are, somehow, victims.

  12. I am not accepting but glad it is available in extraordinary times . something that can and should be done in national emergencies but not on an every day basis. If you do it all the time, it makes it nearly impossible to do it when it is most needed

  13. Good point, Coldspring didn’t finish their journey but they got to complete.

  15. Rather be Coldspring. At least they got to compete. They can sleep good at night knowing what their outcome was.

  16. So serious question - would you rather be like Coldspring and have gotten to finish your season, albeit a loss? Or would you rather have been in the 4A and other classifications shoes where you never got to play a game at state? Personally, I’d rather be in Coldspring and the other teams that lost on Thursday. It’s the unknown, what ifs that drive me crazy. At least the teams that lost finished tremendous seasons and got closure. But I realize that may be a minority opinion. Is it something I was pondering in my social distancing today.

  17. This is the point. We can’t even come close to valid numbers at this stage due to the minimal testing which has been done. There have likely been way more people who have had it than we even know. This is beyond the great hoax the amateur infectious disease “experts” were spouting even a few days ago. It’s also likely way less than the gloom and doomers were preaching. Like most things, the truth will likely be in the middle. As I was told last week by a couple of different friends who are in the field, some of us will get it, and almost everyone will know several people who contract it. And most will even know someone who didn’t survive it. But we will get past it. It just likely won’t be as soon as most hope.

  21. But it will help keep the tire company open, help the guy who mounts them keep his job, and help that same guy buy groceries for his family thus keeping the grocery store open and not laying off people in such an extraordinary time.

  22. She looks good enough to be on Fox. People don’t want to admit it, but Trump is a leader. In times of crisis, we all look to our leaders to do just that......lead. I think I will use my $1000 to put down on a set of tires for my truck. Isn’t that terrible? That won’t cover a set of truck tires.

  24. No they don't...the Republicans never came out in mass and blamed the severity of swine flu on Obama. Just look at the Mueller, Kavanaugh and impeachment garbage...your party owns the Washington childish behavior...it's not even close.

  25. I have always thought the 95 Silsbee team was the best of the past 30 years. Allen and Jones were not only bulky but Allen high jumped 6'8". They were good and pretty good students. I went to the state girls tournament the day they lost. I wonder if that was the last time the Montayne was full.

  26. 2013-14. That team was beyond loaded and i’d agree best team sends then. Crazier thought is the Ozen team from the same year wouldn’t be too far behind. Imagine United then.

  27. We are here from Needville watching. Jasper puts on a really good tournament.

  28. The best team I’ve seen here since the undefeated Perkins-led Ozen team was the state semi finalist Central team (2012?). Never convince me that if Toe doesn’t go down in the first quarter against Kimball, that team doesn’t win state.

  29. Still holding out hope that The UIL allows the tournament to proceed. If they decide to resume the tournament, Yates will be ready to press for 32 minutes. Its the only style of basketball Yates Plays.
