Floyd Died From An Overdose Of Fentanyl - Not From Being Choked Out By Minneapolis Police!

Appeasement in an international context is a diplomatic policy of making political or material concessions to an aggressive power in order to avoid conflict.[1] The term is most often applied to the foreign policy of the UK Governments of Prime Ministers Ramsay MacDonald, Stanley Baldwin and most notably Neville Chamberlain towards Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy[2] between 1935–39. Source: [Hidden Content] That's what I was trying to figure out-what you meant. Are you suggesting that the victorious North had "appease" the South and to try not to upset feelings after winning the war, wrecking the great portions of the Southern states and devastating the Southern economy? Practically every city out there has a MLK Drive, Boulevard, and/or Street. It doesn't matter if we're talking about Northern or Southern cities. And it wasn't done exclusively by African Americans, either. Across the board we like to recognize people who have made great accomplishments. How would you feel (and this isn't unthinkable) if it comes to pass that MLK is somehow considered to be anti-LGBTQ because of his stances on homosexuality? If suddenly the left cries for renaming all MLK streets, dismantling the MLK Memorial in Washington, and moving all traces of him into museums because suddenly the Bible's teachings against homosexuality are now considered "hate speech?" It's not that hard to imagine. How would you feel then.... everything that MLK has done will be vilified because he, like most at the time, felt that homosexuality was sinful? That's the danger in trying to examine and rewrite our history in today's context.2 points -
Can you point me towards what you speak of? I've always understood "Appeasement" as it described the position taken by the British and others while Hitler was advancing in Europe. A quick google search didn't bring up any relationships between that word and post Civil War America. "Appeasement in an international context is a diplomatic policy of making political or material concessions to an aggressive power in order to avoid conflict." If what you're saying is that the North made concessions to the South in order to avoid conflict, I kinda disagree. The North just won... they weren't forced into doing anything.... They recognized the value of reconciliation. It's been speculated that Reconstruction might have been even less adversarial if Lincoln hadn't been assassinated.... He understood the need for Unity, and his killing made Northerners even less generous than they would have been otherwise... It's like this. My grandfather had a fight over property with an adjacent landowner in Polk County in the 1950s. They actually had a fistfight at one point (for which my grandfather was arrested), and ended up settling their differences in Civil Court. My grandfather prevailed in court on that particular dispute and they eventually ended up doing a mutually beneficial swap of 20 acre tracts (one of which was the disputed tract). At an even later date, my grandfather actually hired the guy to dig some ponds on his place. They still had skirmishes from time to time over stupid stuff, but across the board things were okay for the most part. They've both gone on to their heavenly rewards now. If I was to go to Mr. Jones' grandson and try to re-argue my grandfather's position that he held in the mid 1950s over that first disputed 20 acre tract, every reasonable person would think I've lost my mind. It's settled. It's been settled. The affected parties have all passed on. My grandfather won. What am I so upset over? That parable kinda explains the ridiculousness of trying to re-examine and re-fight the Civil War in 2020.2 points

Exactly. To rebel against the status quo is to be treasonous. The Boston Tea Party was special and not really treason due to the fact they left their country and started anew. The British said no-no, you are still under King’s rule. More to it than that, I know. The last tea party, which is the one I think you are referring, was to keep the status quo intact. Correct me if I am wrong. Of course I’m wrong to a lefty. lol1 point

I think responsible folks are taking this very seriously and taking precautions without having to look to the "experts" that seem to change policy every day. I am especially mindful of staying away from folks that are older or may have a condition that would cause the virus to be very serious if contracted. As far as the knuckeheads that want to throw a fit because they don't like the rules an establishment has...stay out.1 point -

I was glad to see the President wear a mask when he visited our soldiers at the Hospital. Showed much respect for the men and women. this is not politics it is simply Gods’ will. Only he holds the key. Too much hatred, babies being killed, prayer not allowed in schools, kids taught confusing about their identity, people are worshiping idle gods and willing to die for them. We have alienated ourselves from the rest of world. The USA is saying and doing things that are an abomination according to the word. Be ye not of the world. Be not partakers but be fishermen of men. Draw all men unto the Farther.1 point -

For those that may not know who the sweetheart Angela Davis is: [Hidden Content] From the article: Davis was a supporter of the Soledad Brothers, three inmates who were accused of killing a prison guard at Soledad Prison.[26] On August 7, 1970, heavily armed 17-year-old African-American high-school student Jonathan Jackson, whose brother was George Jackson, one of the three Soledad Brothers, gained control of a courtroom in Marin County, California. He armed the black defendants and took Judge Harold Haley, the prosecutor, and three female jurors as hostages.[27][28] As Jackson transported the hostages and two black convicts away from the courtroom, the police began shooting at the vehicle. The judge and the three black men were killed in the melee; one of the jurors and the prosecutor were injured. Although the judge was shot in the head with a blast from a shotgun, he also suffered a chest wound from a bullet that may have been fired from outside the van. Evidence during the trial showed that either could have been fatal.[29] Davis had purchased several of the firearms Jackson used in the attack,[30] including the shotgun used to shoot Haley, which she bought at a San Francisco pawn shop two days before the incident.[28][31] She was also found to have been corresponding with one of the inmates involved.[32]1 point -

In my few years at Lamar, naturally we had some Liberal Professors, but at least in those days, they were fair. From what I hear now, you take a Rolaid and write, at least, with a moderate liberal slant. And heck no, don’t argue with them. One thing I am curious about, why in a conservative State, at a State funded University, would it be okay to have ultra (liberal) biased people teaching young minds? I can’t wrap my head around that.1 point

If somebody else is having to do your job, then you aren’t on the job. I was actually dating a school teacher when all of this broke out. If she spent an hour a day “teaching,” I’d be surprised. She got ran off because she had too much time on her hands and didn’t understand that other people (like me) still had to work. I can’t imagine what she’d be like in the summers. Crisis averted.1 point -

First of all you do not know me so you can’t fairly tell me how I feel on this issue. I do not wish to change history. The colonies went to war to separate from the crown. To become its own Nation ruled by its own people. The south choose war to keep its slaves. I telling you I will disown a family member in a hurry if they chose to fight for the rights to have slaves. I can have issue with many things in this country that do not mean I do not love my country or wish for it’s downfall the USA is the only country I will ever call home. Take the statues of Robert E lee and others and put them in a civil war museum The confederate flag grant all of them. We are the United States of America. I love the idea of Obama next to Robert e lee but that do nothing for healing only cause more hate. It will be like what Cellini did to Michelangelo.1 point

What the left fears more than anything are white and black people coming together and loving their country. This why they are doing absolutely everything in their power to inspire a race war. Class and Racial warfare are essential to their party platform. I wish I could take credit for that statement but it was made by Candace Owens and agree with it 100%. I’ve said it before. The race baiters come out hot an heavy when it’s close to a Presidential Election just like clock work.1 point

How will Football Look?
BADSANTA reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
If they limit tickets, it should be a % of the stadium seating. Larger stadiums could be utilized by smaller schools. WOS has a video system that could be streamed like in the playoffs. I think we could possible have 3 games per week at the same location. For example, OF has a small stadium capacity. They could play at WOS and have more fans attend, and/or possibly have a live stream available.1 point -

If BLM has done something wrong then go get'em. The police, FBI etc never hesitated to chase down black groups labeled terrorists before. Same for black leaders they deemed dangerous. They got all this state of the art surveillance now. Facial recognition, voice recognition, etc. They can find a particular knat from out of space, and tell you what he or she ate for breakfast. So find BLM. Bring em to justice. Back in the day the police, FBI etc could hunt down black individuals and groups with deadly accuraacy. Their spy equipment was paltry compared to now. They hunted down and were complicit in the death of Malcolm X. They knew exactly who or what MLK was doing. They chased down panther Geronimo Pratt. They planted a spy among Fred Hampton's group. Their spy drugged up Fred with sleeping pills. When Fred was totally knocked out the Chicago PD busted in with no warrant, no nothing, and filled Fred full of bullets. Well, at least he didn't feel it. So if BLM is running wild the powers that be need to do what they do so well. They don't need my say say. Never needed it before. Why should this be any different?0 points
