  1. As we start the 2020-2021 season with our football and volleyball players taking to the field and the court tomorrow, we need to realize what we have been given. We have been given a gift......a gift to play, coach, and follow high school football and volleyball. While some might think it should be a given, other states have shown, whether you agree or not, that it is not. By the dialogue on here, that gift is a very precious one, but is also a very fragile one. A gift that can be destroyed by a single misstep by a player, coach, staff member, member of the player's family or even friends or fellow students. We ALL know the protocols...not all of them are pleasant...many don't agree with them. But if we do not follow them and destroy this gift we have no one to blame but ourselves...no politicians, no doctors, no nothing, just ourselves. I may be the eternal optimist, but I believe in these kids, these coaches and these communities to do what is needed to guide this precious gift along. Some don't agree with that either, but I have seen some pretty serious sacrifices made to allow this gift to proceed in the past. Let us root that they will be able to do so this year as well. And let us all pray for our boys and girls, our coaches, teachers and administrators as they lead us long this treacherous path that is the 2020-21 school year.

  2. The outbreaks in MLB are tied to guys not following procedures. Marlins (strip club, bars) and Cardinals (casino). MLB is supposed to be trying to basically lock everyone down moving forward (good luck). The key for anything having a chance is how serious the kids take this. If they go to parties and or even just pick it up at work there's no way to get through a season. And trust me I'm want this to work.

    PAM vs PNG

Great opponents during pre-season is always preferred to easy pushover games. Memorial is strong, fast & skilled. I believe that this is a great game to have on the schedule for Bost & our offense. Hope for all the kids, on both teams play solid, stay uninjured and learn from a great matchup to build both teams through the season.

  6. Magic's Jonathan Isaac stands as others kneel before the start of an NBA basketball game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Orlando Magic Friday, July 31, 2020, in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. “I believe that Black Lives Matter,” he said. “A lot went into my decision, and part of it is, I thought that kneeling or wearing the Black Lives Matter T-shirt doesn't go hand-in-hand with supporting Black lives. So I felt like, just me personally, what is that I believe is taking on a stance that, I do believe that Black lives matter, but I just felt like it was a decision that I had to make, and I didn't feel like putting that shirt on and kneeling went hand-in-hand with supporting Black lives. I believe that for myself, my life has been supported by Gospel, Jesus Christ, and everyone is made in the image of God and that we all forge through God's glory. “Each and every one of us do things that we shouldn't do and say things that we shouldn't say. We hate and dislike things that we shouldn't hate and dislike, and sometimes it gets to a point where we point fingers, whose evil is worse, and sometimes it comes down to whose evil is most visible. So I felt like I wanted to take a stand on, we all make mistakes, but I think that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that there's grace for us, and that Jesus came and died for our sins and that if we all come to an understanding of that and that God wants to have a relationship with us, that we can get kept all of the things in our world that our messed up, The words of this young man should really resonate through each and everyone of us.

  8. Well, a community to the east that knows Silsbee real well still has a decent sized contingent wanting to replace the head coach even though his resume is 2 state championships, 4 state finals, 6 regional final appearances in the last 6 years. Quite simply, it is because he does not have a certain trait. Why this is relevant to Silsbee, I have heard folks on this board make the complaint that Coach Smith lacks that same trait. So probably not.

  11. I see where Minneapolis police sent out an email to one district to be prepared to be robbed. Carjackings are up 46% over last year at this time and robberies are up 36%. The criminals are taking over. I am sure crime will be dramatically reduced just as soon as the social workers they are hiring to replace the police move in and explain the problem to the criminals with all the guns.

  12. Take care to follow the rules, so we are all able to support & sustain all the students who are participating in all events this year. God bless those kids in their endeavors throughout this school year.👍

  13. From the article Just in case you have not realized it, this is an insurrection and it is only going to get worse if President Trump wins and if Biden becomes President, look out because the people rioting each night may very well end up being Joe’s brown shirts … What's the brown shirts?

  17. Actions speak louder than words! He may hurt some people’s feelings by the way he gets things done but you can’t deny his accomplishments. Compare these accomplishments to Joe “ I don’t know where I am at” Biden.

  18. Let me stir the pot......if the American flag stands for racism, why was it draped on the casket of John Lewis? Wouldn’t that constitute a conflict of interest? Can’t have it both ways. The communist left has some splainin’ to do.

  23. MLB has a pretty comprehensive plan and they are not going to make this season work. The UIL and TEA are throwing stuff at the wall and hoping something sticks. Our criminal attorney general is trying to score political points with a small audience. We should listen to the scientists and doctors. if our local health officials say it's not safe for school to open, that should be what we do.

  25. If you get a chance to play the #1 team in the state, you take it. Playing these Silsbee teams the last several years showed us where we stood relative to the elite teams in the state and that's an opportunity we didn't want to pass up. We've also got a home game schedule with Wheatley on January 2. Really excited/hopeful to play this year!
