I think all our schools in the area have had alot to deal with (covid, storms, etc). I'm proud of all the schools for dressing out and playing with what you got. One thing is true "We are South East Texas Strong!"

And for what it's worth. Being a back up at the 6A level is totally different than being a back up at the 4A DII level. Based on the highlights of the scrimmage, Briscoe looked pretty good. Had he stayed in Silsbee, I could see him pushing Foster for playing time. Particularly with how Foster has played so far.

To be accurate, it was a family move back to Beaumont that has Briscoe at West Brook. Really nothing to do with athletics. Completely a family situation that is much better for him from what I was told.

In a interview one time, a reporter ask him about give about giving 100% everyday and he said " I'M NUMBER 12 SO I HAVE TO GIVE 112% EVERYDAY"

I think you're right about the Eagles being a good 3A team, but I'm not sure that WOS won't have problems out of the gate. I think it'll be a close game that really doesn't indicate what either team is capable of this year.

Vidor Freshman was winning 38 to 7 against LCM when I left in the 4th Qtr. Vidor JV score was 40 to 27 over Bay City.

Apparently Coach King made his team run gassers after the brawl😂

48-28 Vidor over Bay City is what I think I heard, might be a little off but the Pirates won convincingly.

if you can't move the ball efficiently in a live scrimmage, you got problems!!! defense can only bail you out so far, throwing picks is not a good sign. i don't wanna hear about no covid or hurricane cause WE ALL had to deal with it....starts at the top with the adults...all im saying...

Lol you should work for CNN. The QB this year is a BH kid that has been beating Crosby like a drum his entire career at BH and he can keep his hair cut. Last years QB was also a BH kid most of his life that moved away then moved back. Also I still haven’t heard much details on the scrimmage except that we did ok and won 10-7 in the 2 quarter timed portion of the scrimmage. We have a hard time with Magnolia over the last two years dropping both contest against them.

Back then, SETXsports did a Friday Night Scoreboard show. Started around 10:30pm and lasted till 1am. That night, we did get some scores out but the vast majority of the talk that night was this tragedy. It was surreal. Also, I got the privilege of broadcasting the first WO-S game after this tragedy. It was a home game vs. Kirbyville. What I remembered the most about that game was when the Mustangs were on offense first, the players all kneeled and held up the numbers 1 and 2 with their fingers, then intentionally took a delay of game penalty to remember their fallen teammate. Kirbyville head coach Jack Alverez declined the penalty. Great class on both sides.

I still get chills thinking about that night. Hard to believe it's been 10 years. Prayers for his family and all the blue and silver. May all the athletes be safe on and off the field. Hug your kids for me. Our time on this earth is short. Now I'm ready for Friday night lights. WOS 2020

Um, that prestigious program didn't get power until two weeks ago and some of those kids in that prestigious program just came home last weekend to houses that are so badly destroyed that in some cases, they are unlivable. Hey, you have a problem with how smaller schools are treated by some posters here? By all means come on and express your displeasure. But for you to bang on a school that had 120 mile winds roll through makes you look just as bad as the folks you appear to be chastising!

It's easy on this forum to trash the small 2A schools. Understood, our district isn't threatening any State titles. Football is a completely different game when your entire High School football program has 18-24 kids dress and no "legacy" programs here. Hull-Daisetta, High Island, Evadale, Burkeville, Deweyville, Sabine Pass...they simply can't hardly overcome a key injury or two. Sure, they'll line up and play with what they have and they'll take an "L". I know a few "prestigious programs" locally that can't seem to line up due to a twisted goal post or a damaged jumbo-tron. Our boys probably won't get to enjoy a single home game this year, we lost all our stadium lights at our stadium. They just wanna play. And yes, we scraped up enough kids with damaged homes and no power to run up to Cushing and get beat. I'm still proud. And to all of the above mentioned schools in our district...great job on keeping your season together. We have 3 key kids out this week but we'll go to Warren Friday and give 'em all we got.
