For the first time in my 13 years at SETXsports.com, I just flat out forgot to put up game threads for tonight's game. I got busy today and just didn't get them up. My heart sank when I got home from the Jasper game and realize what I had forgotten to do. I can't tell you how ashamed I am. It will never happen again.

I think both sides were able to take away good things from this game. PNG's defense certainly was not ready for game speed, but seemed to come together better as things moved on. I was impressed (mostly) with the PNG offensive line, though there were plenty of plays where the Memorial D-line totally blew past them. Bost continues to show a lot of skill. Memorial needs to cut down on the ball-handling mistakes -- They literally handed PNG the ball to help PNG come back. And of course PNG's fumble cost them a chance at the win. PNG has to improve its tackling (something we've been begging for for 11 years) but there were some moments where PNG showed some good open field takedowns. A lot to learn from. It's the kind of loss that doesn't feel too bad, the more I think about it. It will help us get ready for district, we got to try some things out, and had some weaknesses exposed. I think Memorial should feel good about the win. For whatever reason, they weren't favored, and those late penalties had to have been demoralizing, but they held it together. I think Memorial needs to open up the offense more -- They took their feet off the gas after getting up by 20, and tended to run more or less the same two or three plays on most series. Granted, it got them a win, but that might not work in district.

Their coach has to earn his money or PNG is going to embarrass the hell out of them this week.

Could be true, also it could be that they have football talent that's walking the hallways that want nothing to do with the football program, build a winner with what they got then they'll want to put the pads on, then sprinkle in a few stud transfers too and they might get back cooking again. It's gonna take Ware and company at least 2 years to get what they want in place, but I don't think Dayton is headed towards an 0-fer season, they'll sneak a couple teams in district play im hoping. In 2 years those freshmen will be juniors, they shouldn't be taking these kinds of beatdowns by then as in getting 70+ put on em.

Funny that one of the winningest coaches in Texas, Phil Danaher has proven this theory wrong, Refugio anyone, sounds more like an EXCUSE. Always blame kids to protect the coach. I saw it as a player in 70’s and now for 35 years as a coach. Why do we always make keep putting the responsible game on players and not adults, asking for another coaching friend. Guess I am sounding more like 14.2 that is often correct. Speck in another’s eye doesn’t compare to the log in mine.

Our Tiger Hut Player of the Game is Silsbee NG Ayden Bell. (will post his defensive stats later this weekend) Honorable mention is Silsbee RB Marquis Dodd who had 100 yards rushing and 1 TD. Congrats Ayden!!

It was definitely a good game. NC shot themselves in the foot. The QB needs some experience under his belt but he'll be fine. The running backs are awesome. CJ and Kedrick Reescano are a great one two punch.

Crosby was driving and tried a double reverse and fumbles the ball. GR recovers. Bonehead call. Didn’t need to get fancy. Offense was moving the ball late in the game.

I really appreciate the posts made by tvc184 (a seasoned LEA) and WOSGrad (our resident lawyer). They know much more about the law than any of the rest of us. And I have no problem being labeled "sheep" if it keeps the kids playing sports.

There are so many talented student athletes in the SETX region. It would be hard to for someone to rank just ten of them. Each athlete brings a different aspect to their respective teams!
