You saw documentation on all these "illegals"? Come on, man. The Broncos threw 4 interceptions and fumbled once in the first half. That's not a demographic issue. They're working to rectify those things. The coaches will coach the kids up. Dayton's got some good groups coming up that includes some talented Hispanic kids. Kids born in the states. Give me a break with that nonsense. There might be some handfuls of illegal citizens, but the majority of those that you're generalizing, have the proper paperwork, are here for the right reasons and their children (many born here) are achieving good things in spite of their circumstances. Those breaking the law are being removed as well as can be expected. That's affected someone close to me, so I know that for a fact. And for the Danaher/CC Calallen commenters... That team would wipe the floor with plenty of more "talented" teams in this area on any given year. Coaches gotta coach the kids they've got. Dayton knows that and will do that. Funny that one of the winningest coaches in Texas, Phil Danaher has proven this theory wrong, Refugio anyone, sounds more like an EXCUSE. Always blame kids to protect the coach. I saw it as a player in 70’s and now for 35 years as a coach. Why do we always make keep putting the responsible game on players and not adults, asking for another coaching friend. Guess I am sounding more like 14.2 that is often correct. Speck in another’s eye doesn’t compare to the log in mine.

I saw our UT commit push the ROT for PN all the way to the QB. We need more plays like that plus the OC not calling dumb formations and such if they get a big lead. Dance with what brought you. I got PAM by 5 due to kicking game mistakes....

Yes, PNG does has a good group of seniors. Not very big in some of the positions, but play the game well. Hard to give quality assessments from one game. Just glad PNG has two more games to work out things till Nederland and district starts. Gonna continue to be a weird year with all this COVID. Any given week a starter for any team might have to sit out because of this dang virus.

No sir it hasn’t and won’t stop at lots of schools across the state...there are too many examples to list of once proud programs that are now doormats because of the above mentioned influx.

You do know that Nederland does play Jacksonville next week, right? I think Barrow just wants to get his team on the field. If Nederland doesn't this week, they might have only one game before district starts

Offensively: If we don't run for 350yds+ something is wrong. As a whole our speed gonna bother them, I can see us getting off to another quick lead, hopefully we don't have a 2nd qtr collapse in this one. BH gonna have issues covering Augusta and Brooks in the passing game. BH DL size surprised me, but that Paetow RB was getting thru holes to the 2nd level almost everytime he touched the ball. Defensively: Our DL should have some fun this week, key word SHOULD. BH OL got some big ones on it but to me they're slower than Png OL. BH QB is a better runner than Png QB, but he's not as good a passer even though they sling it around. IMO BH running threat is the QB, not the RB. #5 for BH is a speedster, not sure who will cover him cause im sure we'll have Guilbeau on Grogan who in my opinion is their best overall WR. BH is gonna pick on our short CB on the other side, that could spell trouble. I still feel like this will be a close game due to Memorial not being able to get out of their own way 2nd half offensively causing the defense to stay on the field longer than they should. I'm going with 35-31 Memorial.

I have special needs twins and I will never have a kid on the team. I just love going to the games along with my son. We love the atmosphere and we love to support our hometown which happens to be the Pirates. As a side note Coach Mathews let my son lead the pirates out of the tunnel. That was about 4 years ago. That had a big impact on him because he talks about it like it was yesterday. So I guess I'm a little partial towards my Pirates. I'm just telling everyone why I enjoy Friday night's.

He is playing at South Plains College in Levelland. After going back and forth with the NCAA for almost a year, he resigned himself to go the JUCO route and picked South Plains over Hutch in Kansas. True story - he turned in his letter one morning in August and that same afternoon (again after a year of working on this to no resolution), the NCAA finally cleared him for D1. The one benefit of said clearance is now he is free to move to a D1 school after one year instead of having to spend 2 years at a juco as a non-qualifier.
