So PNG won in the last few seconds, but still, as the premier rivalry game in the State of Texas, it did not disappoint. From an outsider, it lived up to the history and tradition. What a game. What a rivalry. Nothing like it. Congrats to both teams who I know left it all on the field.

I would ask Timpson or Joaquin. Their last week is a bye week. As others here have indicated, there are a lot of coaches who don't want to risk injuries right before the playoffs. Yet, there is a school of thought among coaches that they don't want to stop any momentum with an off week before the playoffs. It is worth asking.

Brook will be fine. Very young inexperienced team and their non district schedule was brutal. With 20 new starters out of a possible 22, bumps and bruises were expected. By the way I haven’t seen a defense this year yet that hasn’t given up 50 or more to Tomball Memorial or North Shore. West Brook season will be determined over the next 4 weeks.

That is the problem this yr they need to adjust to there kids they don't have the team speed to get outside with this team the oline is very capable they need to line up wishbone and play smash mouth football Friday night the 1 drive they ran between the tackles was hands down the best drive till qb fumbled

Last week was Dayton QB first game back from injury. Once the offense get it together I think they'll surprise some teams. The 7th grade team is blowing teams out.

In past years, I’ve seen Vidor put up more points in one game than they used to in a whole season. Surely they can go back and look at the blocking schemes and plays. Put a few passes in and bam, it works again. They’ve tried this new snap and it ain’t working. Put QB under center and let the misdirection begin. 🙏

Usually the people complaining about these programs are the alumni, because they set themselves to a higher standard. Anything less than a deep run in the playoffs is not acceptable. LCM has some decent relievers but you better play them at defensive back this week. Half of Livingston’s pass plays are deep shots. The quarterback rolls out and throws a jump ball a mile in the air. You better watch their QB if he is lined up at upback on punts they will fake it. Send somebody to hit him on every punt. The Bears best shot is to get after the Lions starting QB early and often.

I have no problem with EC or Caesar. I have a problem with recruiting and that’s what I was speaking on. Far as I know Caesar wasn’t recruited and he legitimately transferred. I wouldn’t be upset at all if EC won state. Good luck

They had one receiver that killed our secondary. I also didn’t like it that we played our corners 10+yards off the line of scrimmage. That’s nothing new for Crosby though. The biggest problem I have seen from Crosby is lack of enthusiasm. They don’t seem to get hyped up for the games.

Ned #10 is an outstanding RB. Vision, tough runner, quickness, and speed. He is not going down on first contact or with arm tackles. When Ned loaded up and ran on the right side, good things happened. Ned has some meat on the OL and they can move the line of scrimmage. When #10 cuts it back, he can take it to the house in a hurry. PN-G got a TO and had a shot at the end for the W. As usual, the last team with the ball wins. Great HS football game. It could have gone either way. Not sure why anyone would be down on PN-G or Ned. We both have issues, but who doesn't? The PN-G defense is not the best, but our kids are coachable and playing hard. I'll take it. Ned can correct some things and move on to the next game. I feel like other teams need to worry about PN-G and Ned. The Indians and Dogs will have opportunities to grab a W in each and every game, Barbers Hill and Crosby included. In each game, if things break right, if some variables go our way, then PN-G will have its shot to get a W...same for Ned. No reason for either team to hang its head or throw in the towel. Lots of football left in district. 15 - 18 year old kids make mistakes. It happens. Get up and go play. Go Indians. Peace.

Sigler has been around awhile. He's taken his lumps, in Silsbee and I guess in Livingston. You keep bringing that up. I'll take your word on it. I don't keep up with Livingston sports. I remember 10 years or so ago they had soon good height and some ranked teams. Haven't heard from them since, whoever the coaches were. I never said Sigler was the greatest high school coach ever. I respect that he has hung in there. He retired once, then came back. He went up against some great teams, like PA Lincoln. Some of his star players are the sons of players he had 25 years before. A coach doesn't get 760 wins, 2 championships, uil 4A coach of the year, etc, by just being lucky to coach stud players. Schools, communities that have historically good basketball programs go out and hire or try to hire good basketball coaches. Any good coach knows what kind of talent a school puts out year in year out. Nothing wrong with that. It's kinda smart. If I am considered a good baseball coach and I want to keep my reputation going, or maybe improve it I am not gonna take a head coaching position at Yates or BT Washington to coach baseball. I am going to choose Bridge City, or PNG, or LCM. If I am a JUCO basketball recruiter I would include checking out Silsbee way before I would Bridge City. That's just common sense. And if you want basketball fans to stop bringing up coach Wise, then beat him at his game. Do it 2 or 3 times or seasons. Raise up up a team in Lumberton, or bridge city or LCM that can do that. I don't see it happening soon, but what do I know? It is within the realm of possible.
