Since this may be our last competitive game in district let’s get this started 😁. This is a big district game just like the PNG/Crosby game going on down the road. These games should get the seedings almost set for the playoffs. BH wins and we get a least 2nd and home field 1st round. Ned wins and there hope for a 2 seed is still alive with some help from Crosby. Anyway this game is in BH and I think they are hitting their stride as long as the Eagle don’t repeat that 6 turnover turd they laid in Crosby they come out with a win. I don’t think BH will win like they did against PNG, but will pull away in the second half with a convincing win.

For starters, BH had better get used to playing bigger schools...rumor has it that their enrollment will cause a move up next realignment. To me, BH is the clear favorite here...Nederland has a solid team, but I, too, watch Nederland every year, and I would not consider this team to be an "above average" Nederland team...I am a big Dog fan, but the most recent 3 wins were against the bottom feeders from the district, who frankly, just weren't very good...that said, Nederland did what they should do to these teams and beat them all handily...BH will not fall into that category. For what it's worth, I think Nederland, full healthy, is a bit better than png...I know png beat Nederland this year, but our QB got injured in that game and missed about half of it and wasn't full strength when he returned...injuries like that cannot happen against BH or it will be a long night for the Dogs...BH manhandled png, so it would stand to reason that Nederland needs to play a clean, mistake free game to compete with BH, that said, I think they can pull it off: Dogs 38 BH 35

This year they can't beat w.o. this is one of the years w.o is loaded.and headed head on with Carthage.and don't forget w.o didn't have there top 2 offensive guys after the 1st qtr and still put up 36 points. But Silsbee is playing better.and if they can't slow #2,28,42 down from running the ball it might be a long nite. And they absolutely have to make #12 uncomfortable and not let him just stand there and throw it. He is not the typical running qb once u make him move.

There's also a reason that Orangefield, Bridge City, and Hamshire Fannett doesn't have big name coaches either. Btw.. their stipends have nothing to do with experience. The teacher pay scale is what it is... but some schools may have a 10K football stipend to go along with that.. possibly another 4K for powerlifting or track. The teaching salary can be relatively comparable everywhere (big schools).. But those stipends for extra duties will be what makes it worth while to be an assistant for this school or that one.

I think we can all agree on that last statement. Things have gone nuts here in NM the past two weeks or so. The governor issued stay-at-home orders that went into effect this morning. I'm sure Silsbee has improved and they deserve credit for pushing through adversity and getting this far, but Carthage is a constant buzz saw that won't be stopping this week for sure. The last time I saw anything on it (from one of the news sites), Barbay was getting around $95k in Jasper, so their pay scale is most likely very close to Lumberton's. I doubt that he's going anywhere, but I can't help but put Jasper in a hypothetical situation like this. I doubt they would start someone else out at a salary like that unless he came in with the same track record. It would probably be someone with less experience. Lumberton is in a tougher spot than Jasper would be just because there would be a lot more work to do to change the culture of the program and like someone mentioned, a lot of losses would pile up in the process. A college that I follow (Nebraska) is going through the same thing with Scott Frost. It's tough and requires a lot of patience from everyone involved. Just find someone that understands winning culture and give him time and money to build it. Most schools go through long periods of losing at some point. I've studied a lot of schools' histories that are posted here and it happens and then someone brings them out of it.

Well let's see. Dickinson is ranked #13 in 6A and Friendswood is not ranked in 5A. I would say that qualifies as an upset.

They made several line up changes, and adjustments since WOS game, prob enough to give PG, or WOS fits, but not enough for this one? A lot of very athletic kids , but some very young, couple others first year to play football. This team was hurt by lack of off season more than others for those reasons. I just hope this whole thing don't get shutdown before we finish playoffs, due to the increases of virus.

Nederland is at least a 3 trick pony 😀. Joking but from the film I have seen they have 3 on offense to be concerned with being the QB, RB and WR/TE not sure which he is but big strong receiver. I also think that Ned is a better overall team than PNG, but came up short in their contest. BH has to come in and take care of business because Nederland will keep them honest!

Tell me about this one trick pony... when I see them play, they have two or three stallions.

He did it to BH, Dayton as well. Only team so far been able to sort of block him was Manvel.

CUT to the chase behind all the key board "CRAP" this game took me to another LEVEL in life so ME PERSONALLY not living threw my SON which is 4... I don't believe teams its YOU GUYS/ VIDOR that don't want to play PA, TRULY what's the issues? Sounds like its more personally for YOU."HINT"... BLACK and WHITE? Is things perfect here in PA absolutely NOT, but what does another man has to be scared of someone for? have to heard someone threaten someone to give PA something? What does middle school ball has to do with anything? I "heard" there were issues when PNG/NED played what's the differences? WE both no that's ALL DADDY BALL on that SR team but who really cares heck you want to coach your son great but again what's the differences? That came from the league and them same refers you were speaking about! COMPETITIONS brings the worst out of all of US but RACISM is who YOU are! I think if Silsbee plays up to their potential, they could find themselves in striking distance late in the game. Carthage will have to lay an egg, too. But that’s why they still have to play the games.

they want score 48 against them. I've seen them 3x this year.carthage is very discipline.they will have to slow down #2. And Silsbee LBS will have to have a gud game. He cuts back alot on those toss sweeps.And I expect them to double team #73 for Silsbee.that kid has had a great yr.if Silsbee dont give up any cheap scores like they did against w.o I think this game could be closer than what ppl think. If they do give up the cheap scores.than they will lose by 21. Airline and dodd will be huge . No T/O. And it should be a great game.and i hope Silsbee uses there backs to swing pass too. Bcz Carthage brings the blitz alot. #5 the LB is gud.

it was a great season. As a long time follower, if you told me before the season started they'd fall short in bi-district I would have taken it every day of the week and twice on Sunday. They grew a lot, I didn't think they would get this far when the year started. Hopefully this is is the beginning of many good things. My time obsessing over HS football is over. It's been a pleasure. On to basketball and then graduation!

Pewitt capitalized off a bunch of turn overs in the first round are they would have been sent packing. Newton is going to beat the decals off their helmets next week. There’s only 4 teams in the region that can challenge Newton and 2 of those will be gone next week ( EF Hooks Waskom Daingerfield) thé battle for Newton’s state championship run starts in the 3rd round. Pewitt want even be part of the conversation after next weeks half time show. good luck Newton

Yeah Texbuzz you got it right. I thought Palestine repeatedly beat themselves with holding penalties, unsportsmanlike fouls, false starts, etc. Huffman didn’t move the ball at all in the 2nd half and I thought when Palestine pinned them back at the one yard line that the Falcons were in serious trouble. The 47 yard pass on 3rd and 8 was the dagger, and you could see Huffman come to life as they just steamrolled down the field and finished the 99 yard TD drive against a totally frustrated Wildcat team. Huffman defense played great and Good Luck in the next round.

Eagles got through the tough learning curve and are playing together well now...they will coast to at least region final!

Well, of course it's going to be both!! Geez, how many 3AD2 teams can get on the field and play with WOS and Jasper! Of course, the competition is weaker when you go from playing 2 teams that are ranked and 2 divisions bigger than you down to schools your own size. Come on man!! However, they do seem to be getting better every week.

There is a lot to love about living in a small town only 2 hours from a major city. The job pays well for the area. But like you said, finding the right person who will stay is the key. Lord I pray it will happen in our lifetime. Can we get one state championship since school integration within the next decade?

BH wins 3-0. S1- 25-12 S2- 25-16 S3- 25-13 BH 18-4 (12-0) on the season. Undefeated district champs! They did not drop a single set in district. On another note the 9th grade team and JV team both went 22-0 on the season and did not lose a set all season. Great job Eagles! Good luck in the playoffs!
