Mr. Buddy Garrity and one other reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
I'm sure those backups have been getting alot of playing time against top opponents all season. A big reason for the continuation of dominance. Playing 16 games a season is an extra half a season of practice per year. I remember a few years back we had a guy that broke the "most games played record" at WOS. I think it was over 60 games in a 4 year career, when most student athletes are lucky to get 20 or 30.2 points -

I don’t see anyone in 4A beating Faith Family this year. I blood Yates but this is not our year, Yates is too young and don’t have a outside shooter and the guard position is very weak. I don’t believe there’s a team in SETX that can out score or defend Faith Family this year, Faith Family is too deep and seasoned. Silsbee is too young, HH, and HF doesn’t score enough points and the HJ coach will complain and cry after they get whipped by a team that recruits.2 points -
Mustang football is a deep tradition and a culture. The Program does not depend on transfers to succeed. It starts when they are young and continues through HS. Just this week, during the holiday's with the Mustangs out of the playoffs, I was driving down 15th st by the middle school and out in the field was about half a dozen youth, aged twelve or so, running cone drills. (No offense but when's the last time you saw that in BC)The mustangs may not make it to state anytime soon but that type of culture will make them competitive year after year.2 points

Chilton is just not very good. Tenaha is much improved from last season. That being said I do not believe that they can match up well with Mart. Tenaha plays loose, mart is a machine. As a Tenaha fan I am very happy with the direction that the program is headed. Weve had 4 different head coaches at the start of the last 4 years. That takes a toll on a program. Very fine group of athletes on the way in Tenaha. We will be much better in the near future. Just my humble opinion but we are not quite there yet.2 points

No doubt. He likes where he is. As a matter of fact, WO-S had a chance to get him and chose Coach Thompson instead. I’m sure he feels some kind of way and right now he is at a 6a program with lots more resources band better pay I’m Killeen. Trust me, he’s fine at Shoemaker. WO-S probably should’ve went with the young energetic coach when they had the chance...1 point -

Jahmi’us Ramsey led Duncanville to the 6A state title a couple of years ago and was just drafted by Sacramento. Duncanville was the third school he attended...HIS SENIOR YEAR. The point is that the UiL, which is as broken and dysfunctional as the NCAA, ALLOWS these DECs to make those decisions. As evidenced by the Ardoin kid, the appellate process is pretty much a perfunctory joke as well. So you have one end of the spectrum where you have DFW where the “let them play” mantra rules supreme. And then the other where you have ADs or Sups or coaches voting kids down who should qualify just to improve their own school’s chances of success. I would argue that the latter is more disgusting but certainly not trying to justify the former. But then you have people hammering HISD (and Yates usually is the whipping boy) about transfers, etc. But when Dallas has been doing it FOR YEARS and the uil relies on self-governance, is Houston just to concede the championships to Dallas? Granted FFA is the most egregious I’ve seen (importing a whole coaching staff and team). Until the uil gets off its behind and fixes the system (which would take a lot more money and resources than it has), this is what we are stuck with. If it were me, I would punish the bad actors on both sides - the Faith Family’s AND Huffman’s of the world.1 point -

Come on guys, we y’all know the rules for classification and enrollment. I don’t hear any 4A schools complaining when they beat the brakes off Yates in football or baseball. What goes around comes around in high school athletics. Silsbee Back2Back Boys BB Team was so loaded they should have been playing in 5A ???1 point -

Covid Vaccines - To Take or Not To Take
NetCat reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
My concern is the type of vaccine. If my understanding is correct, it is the 1st molecular DNA based vaccine. That means genetic altering. The results of which may not be known for some time. Survival of the fittest for thousands of years has morphed mankind to where we are today. But this could be the start of something we have no control over. We are the Guinea pigs for this experiment. NO, I will not be taking the vaccine.1 point -

So PNG will still make the playoffs if Texas City loses to BH and PNG beats Santa Fe. For what it’s worth, a chance to play one more game is worth cheering for. I can’t imagine we’d be able to hang with whoever we meet in the first round. And at this point I’m not even confident we beat Santa Fe.1 point -

Jorma Kaukonen, lead guitar for Jefferson Airplane and cofounder of Hot Tuna with Airplane bassist Jack Casady, has been live-streaming almost every Saturday at 7:00 on YouTube from his place in Ohio. Mostly him on acoustic playing for about an hour and a half. Jack came out and did a few acoustic shows with him. A couple weeks back they got together in Ohio and got their drummer in and recorded an electric show that’s airing tomorrow night. If you want to see a couple of old dudes who can still lay down some power trio blues, tune in and check it out. Search “Fur Peace Ranch” on YouTube. Should be listed as Quarantine Concert #28. Geezers rock!!!1 point
