I am way more impressed with the starter #22 Samaha. He was a thorn in Silsbee's side last year.

It's a valid point you have and I do get what the other poster is saying. I really wished we had more posters from other schools participating here. But, like you stated, Silsbee in the last 16 years has been the most successful in this area. 12 trips to the regional tourney in those 16 years, with 10 of those trips reaching regional final, 5 regional championships, 3 state finals, 2 state championships. No team in area has come close to those kind of numbers in recent years. Same for WO-S in football. But I digress. Let's not make this thread about Silsbee basketball.

Man there are enough Tylers living in Silsbee they could start their on town. The Tylers in Beaumont come from Silsbeee too. Same goes for Cartwrights, Hadnots, Spearman's, Hudsons, Gores, Carters. They need to drop the name Beaumont and gone and call it South Silsbee.

True enough. And it inevitably happens every year.. for some districts, the picks will come out and I think to myself how ridiculous it is. Only to blame political correctness, parents, and small districts. Oh well.. it never changes and likely won't. I applaud the schools that try to do it right and congrats to the kids.. because they can't help it either way. I can't help but think back to not too terribly long ago when very few teams were "successful" (playoffs) in districts that were much larger and very few kids got accolades.. making it more meaningful. But that's just me. Rant over.

I honestly considered taking it early if it would possibly help the greater good. I've got good insurance, my work is flexible, and I'm healthy. If taking it would help to slow the spread and make it safer to be around my parents (who I have only seen a few times since this all started), then I'd probably do it. Now that I've read a little about the rollout plan (first responders, medical staff, nursing home patients, then essential workers, then gen pop, I think that it won't really matter by the time I get the opportunity. I'm not worried so much about whether or not I get sick, but whether taking it will keep me from spreading it.

I tried to post a portion of Judge Brann's Memorandum Opinion. Apparently, I was not successful. Sorry about that snafu. The Memorandum Opinion and appellate opinion from the Third Circuit are not hard to find. I bet the savvy regular posters on this message board can find them. I'm not savvy enough to post the document. I'll have to get my kids to help me. They're iPad gurus and computer experts. Ol' Dad is still reading hardcover/paperback books and using paper and pencil to write. Peace.

Maybe my post got a little out of content as to what I meant. It is not that I feel that an African American coach would be better than anyone else; it is more culturally related for me. I can see how people may feel that I want a Black Head coach just because of color. I have the up most respect for Coach T. and I hope that he will never leave, but we know that is not happening. Every time a coaching change is due to be made, “The Talk” is to hire Toby Foreman, never considering anyone else especially a black man. A few years ago there was a discussion about landmarks around the school (WOS) being named after people who are pillars in Orange society. There were posters on Setex who were mad because our belated Coach Breelove was given the scoreboard to be named after him. He was an awesome motivator, good coach, and good man. That made me feels some type of way about that. Especially, coming from people who are not from Orange, and who do not live in the African American community there. I do not appreciate being called a racist because I am culturally motivated and will always be. The topic of race is a sensitive subject that needs to be discussed by open minded people. To my WOS friends just know that my opinion was not to stir the pot, but I guess I did; however it was to open the discussion about race, culture, and equal consideration, not to have opportunist poke their nose into discussion about race when their motivation is always to attack black people.

Crosby will field the better team Friday Night. Seeing both they are more talented on both sides of the ball and the Crosby defense IMO is the best in the area. However Crosby sometimes has the tendency to under perform during a game in district, but they seem solid right now. Hats off to Nederland come in and punching BH in the mouth, but Crosby has more balance this year on both sides of the ball than I can remember. Goodluck Coogs I think you guys have a shot of a good play off run this year. Ned should have a decent shot as well, playing good ball right now and plays well as a team.

Ladybug's way of thinking will be the end of Mustang football.... It's all about putting the best team/coaching on the field. When you start skipping over qualifications to select based on skin color, sexual orientation, gender, etc,.... you lose something. According to Ladybug, the Lakers would be better if they started two white guys, Lebron, an Asian, a Gay Mexican, and had a female coach.... because our diversity is our strength. Dumbest thing I've ever heard. If somebody was to say "they need to hire a white dude at Beaumont United... they've only had black up until now... it's OUR time" they'd be branded as a racist... and that would be a correct assessment.
