It is a subject that has to be made personal. If you are always talking about “the other guy” you can’t have a true emotional attachment to the seriousness of the matter. True story... Todd Snider (a fine folk singer/songwriter) wrote a little song called "beer run." He'd been playing it for years when he hears the Garth Brooks version on the radio one day. It's disturbingly similar. Like.... direct copycat. THEN he gets a letter from a law firm representing Garth's label demanding that he stop playing "beer run" as it's injurious to Garth. So, being a hippy that's got a little talent but no money, there's not much he can do. He can't fight those corporate lawyer types. So he pens a little ditty called "if tomorrow never comes" that features lines like "if you can steal from me, I can steal from you." It's good stuff. See for yourself.

Watched the game early this morning. Great start. Punter running for a first was a big turn around. I don’t think it mattered much but you never know. Aledo had to many weapons and well coached. Great year cougars and coaches. You made it to the big dance.

I'd say, great season Crosby. Hold your head high. You played hard, and I hope that you had fun and enjoyed the ride. To Aledo, give your recruiting coordinator a raise. He or she has brought in some great talent year after year. The Bearcat OL was big, strong, and mobile. The RB and WR were top notch. The transfer QB from San Diego, CA was a smooth game manager and distributor of the football. Not every HS program has an abundance of OL kids 6'4" - 6'6" and 250 lbs. - 295 lbs. Keep that recruiting pipeline wide open. Go Indians. Peace.

Buna should hire Blake Worley. He is the current Winnsboro Defensive Coordinator/ Head Baseball Coach. Worley helped Pleasant Grove win their first state championship in 2017 in football. He has championship experience in both baseball and softball as well at Pleasant Grove. This would make him a first time AD/HFC, but he is the perfect candidate for us. His resume is incredible. I've heard he's looking to head to this area. Let's make it happen!

I agree the wac is not the answer. Ask any of the kids playing and the highlight of their careers is playing the big dogs. Who cares about playing Rio Grand valley, Chicago st or any of the rest that no one has heard of. Go FBS or stay where you are. SFA will jump to the first thing that comes along. They think they can be big hog at the trough with these glorified D2 schools.

This is dumb. The only reason to leave the Southland is if they are going to play up in FBC. To move to another FCS conference, let alone one that's so far flung out, is going to waste money on a department that already depends on student fees to keep it afloat. This stinks of the last time Lamar left the Southland, last time it was to become a big time basketball school. I'm glad that Lamar is thinking about it's future. I wish it would do more academically like open a law school or a medical school like Sam Houston state is doing. But let's not go to the WAC. Call up Conference USA. Better still, call up the Sunbelt and remind them you are a founding member. The travel is a lot better, these conferences already have television packages and names people are vaguely familiar with.
