  2. Regardless, imo, he’s not accountable for the actions he never specifically prompted. He even told them to go to the Capitol peacefully. I did not take the meaning or motivation from Trump to actually go down there and physically fight. That’s not what he implied. Also, even the left says this crap was planned days in advance according to intelligence from FBI and other sources. Sometimes people have to be responsible for their own actions. As a line and defensive coach, I have told many young men to “kill” the guy in front of them. To knock their ?ick in the dirt. To knock the piss out of somebody. To hit em so hard their mama feels it. The list could go on forever. I never expected a player to actually do those things. “Fight” means lots of things in a dictionary- like fight in court or fight to pass legislation or fight a corporate takeover... not one of them implies violence.

  7. Congratulations to Coach Haymon on his 1st season as GCM's head coach. GCM wins 13th straight, holds off Ball Goose Creek Memorial's boys held on for a 60-55 road win at Galveston Ball Wednesday and in doing so wrapped a number of firsts. Avant Coleman (19 points), Devin Figueroa (15 points) and Sam Bradford (15 points) led the Patriots who are 21-3 overall, for the program's best winning percentage in history. The 14-2 district record includes a second-place finish, bi-district playoff spot and the most such wins in school history. The victory was also the program's 13th straight to mark the longest winning streak in program history. GCM, which is ranked 24th, is also celebrating its first ever state ranking.

  10. If you don't like it, you've got nobody to blame but Trump himself. He's the one that turned a R majority in the House, Senate, and Presidency into the Dems holding all of the cards. It took Obama 8 years to accomplish what Trump did in four, lol.

  11. I think that the problem is this.... It's the old argument about having free speech, but you can't yell "fire" in a movie theater and then say, "well, I never TOLD anybody to trample anybody else." When you tell a group of people to "go down there and fight like they've never fought before or they won't have a country to fight for" and they do exactly that.... you've got a problem. But it's okay... I know that our opinions on the subject differ.

  17. The Hawks shouldn’t look any further than Friday night. HF is getting healthy and is very athletic. In the head to head matchups this year I like the Hawks. They looked to be the best club in the district. In the early meeting with Huffman they had some kids who had been out with Covid quarantine and just were not in sync yet. HF Could be a nightmare for anyone in the Lumberton district once the playoffs start.

  18. Yea, you would think but it's all about matchups I guess. I know Vidor matched up way better with BC than they did WOS this year. Just depends on if you like your chances against a smaller team that can shoot well from the outside or a bigger more athletic team that can rebound and attack you down low.

  31. Makes me wonder, also. I wanted to see this new crop of Tigers this year in person, but with the live streaming I didn't have to worry. I prefer games in person and a Silsbee game is fun to watch. I go way back to watching the Tigers at McDonald Gym and Beaumont Civic Center playing teams like Hebert and then the games with Lincoln and then on to HJ.

  38. Excited to see my Mustangs get in. Thought they would have closed it out without help but either way there in. Great day to be a Mustang and to see the boys get more time to play more games. I still feel this is a dangerous team for whoever we have to play. Always a Great Day to be A Mustang!!!

  39. I agree with you that things were HORRIBLE 155 years ago. They didn't get a lot better after the Civil War, either. You had decent progress after '64, or so I've read. I know for a fact that things have gotten a lot better in the short 40 years that I can recall. I'd dare say that black people have more opportunities and benefits afforded to them than any other race here in America right now. If they do not choose to take advantage of those opportunities because they'd rather talk about the "old days," I really don't know how to respond... They'll NEVER advance as a group because of the victimhood mentality perpetrated by the left. Does systemic racism exist... possibly.... Maybe even probably. And it accounts for about 2% of the problems faced by the black community today. Focusing solely on "racism" and "oppression" won't solve a thing for the community, because the problems that AREN'T rooted in racism are still gonna be there. You mentioned Silsbee.... so I'll ask this. With all of your talk about "how blacks couldn't own property for 300 years," why are the historically black communities in Silsbee (and any other older city I can think of) littered with abandoned homes? Drive through Silsbee, West of 96, South of MLK and north of 327. It's some decent houses, a lot of falling down houses, and tons of old homeplaces. You can see the same thing on the other side of town, too. If racism prevented blacks from owning property as you suggest, then how did all of those black-owned properties end up abandoned? It's EVERYWHERE, and racism didn't cause them to fail to maintain their residences, pay their taxes, or bother to have properly executed wills probated. There are tons of problems faced by that community... but racism is the lazy answer.

  40. Uh, FYI, Huffman and HJ are tied for 1st. They split in district, both winning at home. My money is on HJ to get #1 seed.

  42. I believe they use a point system there, kind of like a power ranking.... If it just goes on record, teams get penalized for playing a tougher schedule. Hard to base anything off a ranking... The first wo rounds would allow your seeding from district play to dictate that. (Makes doing well in district get rewarded) From the 3rd round on, that cant really play out as to district winners could face each other...
