Average compared to whom? Yates? Then I would agree. But that is a senior-laden group who play very well together. Can they compete with the big bad Lions? Likely no. But they also draw from a population base of 8k compared to 2.3 million. That’s right, you have roughly 287 times the population base of Bridge City from which to recruit. I understand it has been a down year recruiting for Coach Wise but your student body of athletes is still one any coach down here would salivate for. So when you denigrate a team by calling it average, just remember you are the 21 year old playing in the park with middle schoolers. Congratulations I guess??

It's my understanding that this was only the 2nd playoff win for BC all time. Also, I cannot remember the last time Hardin-Jefferson lost in the 1st round.

I agree but have to win some to get there. This next one, they have to be ready to play. Chancellor White is a bucket and 6-8 A&M OL signee Reuben “Deuce” Fatheree gave the 6-9 kid from Hightower the business the last time they played. United is deeper and more talented overall but needs to bring A game for this one.

How about if Ted needed a haircut? He could have gone to Pelosi’s and then her stylist would be to blame. If Ted needed a good, hot, expensive meal, he could have attended an affair with Governor Newsom. Then, a simple apology would smooth things over, but not if you come from Texas. Cuomo covering up and lying about deaths in nursing homes. This is all I ask. Why the concern over this but not the others? It is political.

I’m sure you would like to give the population thing a rest. Just like the 21 year old likes to shave before he goes to school the 12 year olds. I think this BC team has much to be proud of. They are as good a team as I remember them having in a long, long time. So while they aren’t on a Yates’ standard and don’t need 3 rows of chairs to complete a 27 player bench, I wouldn’t call them average. I would call them a good group of young men who play extremely well together. And a team that just achieved a major win for their program.

They are also Falcons. Coach Wilson definitely showing his skills again this year!

Our neighborhood took care of each other and my wife, my kids & my church handed out 250 bags of groceries and 300 cases of water. I didn’t hear one person mention Ted Cruz or AOC’s name that was helped but you keep teaching your victim hood 101 class.

History is being watered down. In the days of UIL making money the driving factor it’s not uncommon for a average or in some case well below average team to “ make the playoffs “. A team such as BC that can get hot from behind the arc and can get hot and beat ya. I’m not ready to call that historic from an accomplishment stand point. Call me old school but I prefer the days when the district champion made the playoffs and everyone else went to the diamond.

If that’s never been bettered, then by its very definition, yes. It was only the second playoff win in school history I believe. Has nothing to do with being loose with terminology - it was a historic win for the school.

I’ve said all year BC is a good team, great guard play and this group has been together for a while..big win for the program and these great group of seniors.

The Hawks just struggled with consistency almost all season. Credit Bridge City today for making some defensive adjustments and taking the inside game away in the second half. The game came down to free throws in the 4th quarter, the cardinals hit theirs and the Hawks didn’t.

This was HJ year to possible beat Yates (if they would have played each other), but HJ couldn’t beat an unranked, average Bridge City Team. I love it that HJ and their head coach took that L.

I think 5-1. But that is not official. I think Arceneaux had 4 and Porshia had 1. T’wolves easily had biggest and best fan support of the four schools I watched today. Foster will be a tricky matchup we they have an elite guard and big. They took Hightower to OT this season in one game and lost by 4 the other time they played. One game at a time and United will be fine though.

We overcame COVID, hurricanes, and ice storms this year but came up short tonight against Waco Robinson. 58-50. Proud of these seniors and what they accomplished this year - Co-District Camps and a 17-6 record.

Once we get funeral arrangements for Aaron, we will post them here.
