That’s why Lancaster can have 2 in-season move ins immediately eligible to play and HF can have a kid who has lived in the district several years switch from a private school to his zoned public school and not be allowed to play. Makes no sense? You got it. And @SportsJunkie32 is right. Yates isn’t doing anything those guys up in DFW haven’t been doing for years. HJ just beat a better team than Silsbee has played so far in the playoffs by 62. Silsbee has beaten a 6-10 team by 1 and a 17-12 team by 6 in the playoffs, and don’t seem to be playing their best basketball right now. HJ posted a 71-point first round win against bridge city, who silsbee beat by 21 and 29 this season. I always get excited to see an HJ/Silsbee matchup in any sport, but it’s hard not to expect a 40-50 point win for the hawks coming. I would actually love for it to be a tougher game for HJ, who haven’t been “tested” since they beat state ranked lumberton by 48 late December, and a solid 5A barbers hill by 27 in early January.

Safe travels. Thanks for coming down. By the way, the Yates by 16 I can buy. I haven’t been able to see the Lions this season and only really know 2 of your kids’ games for sure. I would say Yates by 9 but that is a complete guess, other than looking at scores. If the youngsters from Silsbee catch fire they can make it a game and maybe pull the upset. If they cave to the relentless pressure, could get ugly. -9 is just a hedge. After this year though, Yates is going to need to step up that recruiting game and bolster the lineup to keep up with the maturing Tigers. Next year may be tricky with Mr Griggs having another year left. But still plenty of talent to go around in H town.

Thanks baddog. When he returned home after 7 years in the Marines, he had quit going to Church during that time. Once he married and had his first child on the way, he came back strong. We thank God for that.

So, let me get this lined out. A team (BC) that some people/person calls average/below average beat a team (HJ) that some people call way above average in the first round of the playoffs and while it is shocking some people/person would rather place blame or make excuses as to why a "average" team beat an "above average" team. It's ok to be shocked, the first thing you have to do is admit it and the first couple of stages of sports shock is to place blame and make excuses. And that's why we have this web site, it to air it all out so we can make some people/person better. We want to help.

I gave it up. So many nuts in both directions you can’t hardly talk to anyone anymore. The only people you can have a decent political conversation these days are other moderates.
