    Prayers Needed

There have been no updates on the FB page chronicling his struggles. Our prayers are needed more than ever. ✝️✝️✝️ To some of us older folks, who’ve lost so many friends & family, you folks on this Forum are our new “friends and family”. Continue to pray for stevenash, and all of you take care of yourselves.

    PNG gets new DC

Just my 0.02 cents. I'm not being critical of anyone's opinion, but...Barbara Comeaux has earned the right to stay at PN-GISD as Girls AD/Golf Coach for as long as she decides to get out of bed and put on purple and white. If there was a Mount Rushmore at PN-G, she would be on it. She is worth every penny that PN-GISD pays her and then some. She is one of the strongest pillars there is upholding the core values of PN-GISD: Honor, Pride, and Tradition. Share more info/intel about the new DC. Inquiring minds want to know. Here's to Jayce Nelson either staying with PN-G to learn under a mentor, or if he is moving on, here's to him landing somewhere that is a great fit for him and his family. I've never been a coach, and I can't imagine that my livelihood depended upon 15-18 year old kids. Need good/great coaches, but also need ballplayers. Jimmys and Joes have a lot to do with how good a coach is or isn't. Go Indians. Peace.

    Kids Flipping Burgers!

If a high school kid flipping burgers deserve $15/hr ($2,400/mo), then why isn't that the MINIMUM Social Security payment?

  5. Always makes me happy anytime i see a small country school beat a "small school" from a big city with a huge player pool.

  6. If they are "homeschooled", they should still have a residence that could be verified the same way as it is for enrollment. The difference would be that they could actually compete for a school they were not actually enrolled in. That can be a very slippery slope.

  8. Proud to see #12 get first team recognition in football and basketball for his Senior season. Do you guys think they will have any all-district or all-whatever games this year to mix the kids up and watch them play in a showcase game? I’d love to see him play with some studs, he’s really a great role player, defender and facilitator that was trying to carry the load. Hopefully COVID didn’t cancel all that, either way it was a fun season. Even though our team didn’t perform as well as they could have and took too long to get it together, I enjoyed it. So much so that you’ll probably see me lurking around the Vidor games next season and providing some commentary for the SETX people who like to keep up with the Pirates.

    Kids Flipping Burgers!

Good grief @Reagan, you can’t be making sense like that. I could fill up a whole page on this subject, but you pointed out a powerful point.

  14. I still don't understand why they're giving this out to so many kids. 23 kids. and did they do a 3rd team or honorable mention? If so I'd sure feel bad for any starter in the district not named.

  16. Surely not. They don’t even believe in players switching schools who have always lived in a particular district.

  18. Last nights battle of the titans between defending 6A champ Duncanville and #1 ranked Waxahachie took place in Waxahachie’s own gym. D’ville coach David Peavy and Wax coach Greg Gober flipped a coin to decide who would host the regional final, with Waxahachie obviously winning that toss. Unfortunately for the Indians, it wasn’t enough as Duncanville advanced to the state semifinals for the 3rd straight year. It got me to thinking - although this is highly unusual it isn’t unprecedented. The Mojo of Odessa Permian used to love flipping for home or home in the football playoffs. It is an interesting concept vs two teams fan bases traveling to Houston area (as happens here occasionally). Peavy’s logic is kids today are used to playing in gym’s all over the country so there’s no such thing as home court advantage. I suppose as long as tickets are equally divided (and your kids are high level players like D’ville - I.e., playing all over in summers), he may be right. Certainly last night he was.
