  1. I'd stay right there at United unless that squad named Montverde called, and even then probably best to stay put. He was already getting D1 offers, after that State Championship game im sure his stock has risen, after this AAU season he'll have a really good healthy list of schools to pick from for the next level.

  2. Now that it's been mentioned, what are the odds of Arceneaux going to an academy school? I'm of the belief that if you're good you'll get noticed no matter where you play. Not sure how much an academy school really does for some of these kids. and that first 3 pointer was definitely the best. I just knew BU was about to lose when he took that shot.

  3. Coach Foster from Big Sandy deserves consideration, any of those guys deserve it. Great year from a lot of these teams around here. BC coach also had a great but all those names above are good names.

  4. Most of the time, the academy schools help with academics (I.e., getting a kid qualified). Terrence was noticed long ago. He’s been playing on a sneaker circuit since he’s been in HS. That’s where the elite kids get their looks now anyways. College coaches aren’t in the middle of their season and can watch kids play with and against basically all D1 players. There will be dozens of D1 coaches at each and every one of his games there (which is why he already holds several high major offers). He arrived long before SA. He was already a national top 100 player. He just caught some people up there. But to the original question, going to a prep school won’t do anything for him from an exposure standpoint. And he comes from a wonderful, grounded family. His momma and daddy are going to want to enjoy having him home his last year of high school and rightfully so. He’s an amazing, fun loving kid.

  5. I had a brief conversation with one of his relatives. Arceneaux is a loud proud Timberwolf. He’ll play all 4 years for the same school. He’ll Follow the same path as his big cousin did a few years back at Central.

  6. After seeing the highlights can't help but congratulate those young men on a great season! Arceneaux is a bad, bad man!!!

  7. I hope UIL never has a shot clock. I enjoy seeing different styles of play. It's all real.

  8. I agree but I also need to add something.....an apology. My involvement in basketball got me an extremely late start on the spring sports. A clandestine catch up effort has begun but I am sure I will miss something. If you see scores that I missed, please let me know here, on the schedules/results thread, pm me, email me at [email protected], tweet or direct message me at twitter (@SETXsportsC or @WOSgrad2) or text me at (409) 313-4290. Thanks!

It really is painful to watch. 50% of children taken off of poverty.....and 90% COVID-centric.......oh my!!!!!

  10. I’m looking forward to another matchup against them. But I would incourage Green to implement a man to man press or a all out press defense. It allowed them to stay in the game. It was clear our players were uncomfortable. And also a press team hates to be pressed. They stole a lot of our inbound passes. but, yea another matchup with them would be fun.

  11. If we are going with who did the most with what he had this year, Kevin Foster is your guy. But that is the case in many years. This area is blessed with a tremendous amount of coaching talent at the HS level.

  12. No doubt!!! Lumberton used that as motivation they took that as a slap in the face.

  13. I don’t think anyone is saying that you, oops I mean Mitchell, didn’t do a good job. A D1 player, especially at the 4A level makes a huge difference. If anyone should take a slight for not being picked to make the playoffs, it should be McClure. That means the coaches of the district didn’t feel he was as good as he actually was.

  14. Lumberton wasn’t even picked to make the playoffs lol lumberton beat Silsbee at Silsbee.

  15. From the article: " Why is Biden releasing thousands of Covid-positive migrants into the country? The answer to that question may be in his absurd speech on Thursday when he said “we may have to reinstate the lock down restrictions” if… If what? What if the migrants the Biden Administration is allowing to come across the southern border without being tested, even if showing symptoms, then given bus tickets to any American city they hope to reach, is a grand plan to spread this flu throughout the country again in order to reinstate all the unconstitutional restrictions to which millions of Americans willingly submitted? Chances are that the powers that be never dreamed so many people would give up their freedom to work, shop, eat, go to movies, vacation, have their kids in school, etc. without a fuss… but they did. 16. Somebody seems to be fishing for compliments. Green, Barrett, Todd Sutherland, and Sigler are all wayyyyy more deserving than Mitchell. Lumberton did win the district, but they also had the only division one player in the district and he's more responsible than anything. And you can put a monster asterisk next to that championship because that aint happening if Covid didn't wipe Silsbee out. Playoffs showed what would have happened if they played again. I like TXHoops player list. Spot on.

  17. If that’s your logic then same goes for Mitchell. Lumberton has reaped the benefits of 4A. Scott Barrett should win it over him. Went further, and smoked them in the playoffs. But, I agree it should be Green.

  18. I don’t know about that, but I respect your choice. Arceneaux, made two shots that I never saw coming. Both times I really thought the game was over. The first I actually was congratulating some Kimball fans. Well yOu can imagine their faces when we tied it, then won it. On two incredible shots. Oh yea, they looked like they had been had, lol. it was priceless. Well of course, they didn’t return the congrats, lmao. It was an experience all Wolves fans should’ve experienced. Damn it was good.

Man I started - but then just took a deep breath and left. It was obvious he was looking for confrontation. It just wasn’t worth it. I’m thinking of trademarking a new phrase, Systemic Face-ism. Sad thing is, my wife had a shopping list a mile long.....we just shopped elsewhere. I personally had just given Target a chance after the bathroom fiasco. They just went on my permanent “Do not enter” list.

  21. If you can’t see that the democrats are more destructive to the country then you are the one being controlled. I never see you complaining about the policies of the democrats...maybe you should try practicing what you preach.

  22. Lots of other states have 30 - 35 second shot clocks. There's no excuse why it can't work here when it's the norm in other states. If you need an extra person to watch that clock then get one. There was an Alabama high school game that ended with a score of 6 - 4. Are y`all okay with that? These were 6A schools too, not some little dirt road towns playing one another. "Our state doesn't have a shot clock, so let's take advantage of it" shouldn't be a viable coaching strategy. As for Hargrave, it really didn't look like they had much outside of Harvey. They had one other kid who was trying to make something happen and that was it. I really don't know how good they're gonna be next year when he's gone.

  24. I like to work and keep my money. I’m a Christian man. Keep believing that the other side is boogeymen that’s how they control you. This two party system just isn’t working.

  26. You have to give the COTY to David Green. Period. Top 5 Players: Terrence Arceneaux (MVP) Wesley Yates Brock McClure Ernest Caesar Jacob Harvey If we bring in Houston schools, then obviously Hart and Stewart from Atascocita, Abram from summer creek and Bradford from GCM might replace some on this list. But not at MVP - that’s been Arceneaux all year.

  28. I prefer the kind of basketball that gives my team the best chance to win. Don’t care if it’s “real” or not. Argyle does what they do better than any other team in 4A does what they do. Real or not.

  29. I’m not the poster who believes one side is good one side is bad. I don’t like democrats either so I’m confused on your reply. So let me clear this I don’t like republicans don’t like democrats. I like the freedom of thinking for myself.

  30. not sure what you mean by “real basketball”, but both these teams beat a lot of “real teams” to get here. 30+ wins for each of them with only one loss each. That’s about as “real” as it gets.

  33. Some of what I say about genetics & all that is tongue and cheek humor. Beaumont is natural draw: good shopping nice housing and subdivisions. I know so many people that have moved to Beaumont, or like me, to Houston. Hopefully Silsbee does what it has to do to carry on. Beaumont? It's aiight. I'm not passionate about the place, but I respect it.

  34. Congrats BU on one great season. You have represented the former Ozen High School. You have represented the former Central High School. Now that you have established your own identity I hope Central/Ozen alums will stop talking about "what it was" and focus on "what it will be". I'm looking forward to more success.

My son was ordained as a Deacon in the Catholic Church Saturday, Feb 20th, in Houston. He had six years of study and classes to prepare. My wife and I are proud of him, and feel confident he’ll be a strong ally for Christ. I know some of you look down on the Catholic denomination. Just be aware that Catholics are Christians trying to please God like other denominations. My prayers are that all Christians will grow stronger in their faith, as Christians, not as Catholics, Baptist, or whichever denomination you may be. God Bless!

Don’t you wonder what the point of that post was? I just wanted to share a proud, happy moment in my life, and then that. I will continue praying for all who proclaim to be followers of Christ. Heaven knows, we all need prayers.
