This one has been hard to shake. I knew him before I knew this board existed. I enjoyed reading stevenash’s posts before I found out stevenash was Stan. When I did it was quite a trip. He loved having discussions on a variety of subjects, politics obviously being one of his favorites. As you all know, I probably disagreed as often as we agreed. But I didn’t feel like he ever thought less of me when we did, and I can promise that was mutual. One thing I appreciated (as I do with some of the others I know here - Hagar, BSW; and some I don’t know personally - LRF, baddog) is that we could disagree and keep it cordial. We could have different opinions and still respect one another...hell even enjoy one another’s company. It’s a shame that is becoming exceedingly rare. I will miss being reading stevenash’s posts on this site. I will miss being able to text him when I have a question I know he will know the answer to. But most of all I will miss that smile of his that he always seemed to wear, a smile that filled his entire face. Continued prayers for his wife, kids, grandkids, and all of his loved ones.

I'm not saying I know anything about the situation or anything, because I don't. But I do know that there is ALWAYS more than one side to a story. And I know that just because something appears in a news article doesn't make it factual. I think we can all agree to that. We'll see I guess. I know not to long ago Hamshire Fannett went after a coach for "over disciplining" so to speak.. and it turned out to be misleading. I'll wait until the facts come out before stating my opinion. Which is what all should do.

King was the secondary coach this year at PNG. Before he was head coach at Liberty-Elyau he was defensive coordinator at Richland High School in North Richland Hills.

Everyone has something bad to say when in your feelings. I watched just this past weekend that the 3 main players from Kimball shook hands with Yates while in attendance at Spring Ice Breaker @ C.E.King Highschool and as well saying Congrads. I had a different respect for them after I seeing that.

Correct. I am a WRS voter. Coaches nominate an offensive and a defensive player from their team. (not all coaches nominate a player and some only nominate an offensive or defensive player, not both). The voters are sent the list of nominations and we voters (all local media folk) vote the four finalists for offense and defense. The list includes stats for each player. Then after the finalists are determined, we are sent that list and we vote the winners for offense and defense. I believe there are 12 of us that vote. I carry concealed under LEOSA when I am off duty. However, there are places I still cannot carry when signs are posted. I am not above the Law and even though I may have good intentions I still must obey and take heed to posted and or verbal rules of a business or private property. If I come over to your house as private citizen and you just so happen to see my concealed weapon and you ask me to leave. I must obey and leave. Over 500,000 people young and old have lost the lives to COVID and there are new variants that are out. Just put the mask on. I have Cancer and many other health issues. I truly appreciate and thank all who do wear the mask.

She wasn’t arrested for breaking the mandate (which was a stupid one, I agree). She was arrested for breaking the law. She continued to do so. I have no pity for her.

So excited my kid got to be a part of it, Trinity University shared the regular (shortened) season SCAC championship with Colorado College and then yesterday Trinity University won the 2021 SCAC conference tournament championship! As a Freshman this year, she only saw 4 total minutes of action over 2 games, COVID restrictions have limited the opportunities for the Freshman on the team this year. As you can see they have a very talented team. Nevertheless she is a part of a talented team and one day will get her opportunity to fill the shoes and legacy the upperclassman leave behind. Go Trinity Tigers!!!

So proud of that kiddo of yours! Doing great in an academically tough school, playing for a coach that expects and demands excellence on and off the court! I check up on her often!

We were arguing on this site a year ago whether Montverde would have beaten SFA. Cade and Scottie Barnes will both be top 10 picks. Moses Moody may join them (and will be a lottery pick at a minimum). Oh and 7 footer Mark Williams had 23 & 19 in Duke’s last game of the year against Louisville. Yeah I’m still taking MV.

Great list. Tyrone gets it on defense. Ceasar should be the offensive winner.

This LSU/Michigan game is very good.

This is going to be a pleasant surprise for many after doing a bit of research. I believe he is going to be much better than most is giving credit for.

Vidor up 2 to 1 with bases loaded an Lumberton kid hits grandslam to put them up 5 to 2. Vidor pitcher should have been pulled after bases were loaded. The kid had thrown like 11 balls in a roll at that point. I believe a new pitcher, a new look gets Vidor out of the jam. But you got to give Lumberton credit they made some other great plays during the game to squeeze out a win. Personally I put that loss on the coach. Baseball is a game of failure but the coach can certainly help with that failure.

Condolences to the family of Coach Brown. His 1978 Pirates were like Tom Osborne’s Nebraska Cornhuskers. They lined up with a simple and straightforward game plan: We are going to pound you into the ground. Stop us, if you can. VHS district champions in 1978, back when only one team advanced. The district was no slouch. Vidor, Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, PN-G, Nederland, WO-S, Forest Park, BC-P, and French. Go Indians. Peace.

After battling a tough bout with cancer, our very own stevenash passed away today. Stan was a great man and a valued member of this site. Condolences to his family and loved ones. Site will not be the same without him.
