You Can Tell A Lot About A Person!
SmashMouth and 3 others reacted to baddog for a topic
Made my kids have conscience. It’s lost on today’s youth. No respect for anyone and no responsibility for their actions. I’ve had people compliment me on how I raised my two boys. My oldest, before he passed, he and some of his friends would go to old folks homes and dance with the older women to make them feel young again. He was a very good one. Miss him everyday. My youngest is doing well. Very proud of him.4 points -

Programs like that don't have to recruit. Their success, facilities, community, etc. does all of the recruiting that they'll ever need. If a family lives in or around the DFW area with a great paying job or the means to obtain a great paying job anywhere they choose and have a son/daughter with the potential to be great (size, athleticism, etc.) they are going to put themselves in a position for their kids to experience success. Period. If you had a job in Houston that offered you the ability to live wherever you want around the Houston area to commute to work.. and you have a 6'6 225 pound son who loves football, has spent a lifetime going to summer camps including strength training, speed camps, skill specific camps, had a personal trainer, had a nutritionist, had a personal tutor, etc.. would you choose to live in Houston Scarborough's district? Or would you buy a house in Katy? Don't worry. I know the answer.. in fact. That's similarly what's happening in Aledo. This comment isn't directed at you.. just a general statement for anyone inquiring.3 points -
I think about this every day. My son is almost 10. Being a dad is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I just hope my son will understand one day that I raised him to be a good, productive man in this sorry society that he’s growing up in.3 points

Ok, start throwing the bricks at me. I can eat my steak PINK, but not red. I have at least advanced from well, to medium plus. Ok, got that out of the way. My son orders his.....cut its horns off and wipe its arse. I think he could walk up to a live cow, peel back some hide, and bite it with his teeth.2 points

Just think about it for a second: If a promising athlete comes along and looks around the State to play for a quality coach and program, where would you think their first choice would be -- Aledo or PNG? And apparently those that do not understand this thinks there is a lot of recruiting going on. Build a program and they will come.2 points

I miss that restaurant. Was only about a 10 min drive from my house. I liked their EJ special (or something like that) with two cheese stuffed boudain balls covered in chicken and sausage gumbo. Their boudain was the best that I've had around here.1 point

The only time I have had the same tasting steak two times in a row was at a Hilton in Washington DC.... strangely enough. I usually have a good experience at Schooner but only get steak there once or twice a year. I hate when people say, I can make better at home. In most cases.... duhhhh!! No kidding. But you have to go buy whatever, prep it, cook it, cook sides, clean up after, etc. However..... When it comes to steak, I have gotten good enough with sous vide that I go ahead and usually opt for home cooked.1 point

Wow, and I’m constantly condemned for watching Fox. Ahhhh ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Talk about sheeple.....ahhhh ha ha ha ha. Trump called them “Fake News” and he was right. Of course all of us Southeast Texans of a lesser mind knew this all along. Hey Maga, you still able to read but not post? I knew you were spoon-fed this gullible crap. What a moron (oops, I just insulted morons everywhere) YIKES!!!!! Reagan, I hope you splatter facebook with this video. All cnn reporters should have their press badges revoked. Propaganda is the work of the devil.......and liberals. One shouldn’t be able to work as a reporter after using propaganda on the public.1 point

A criminal made an incredibly stupid decision, and an officer made an incredibly stupid mistake. Had Wright simply followed orders none of this would've happened, but the officer still screwed up on a monumental scale. One of the points I used to try to make when we could still have conversations about these things without being called racist anytime you side with the police is this: when you resist arrest or fight the police, you put them in a situation where they're more likely to have to make a split decision, and thus in a situation where they're more likely to make a mistake. It's a vicious cycle, honestly. People in the black community have seen enough legitimately bad acts against them from law enforcement to have a reasonable fear and distrust of police. But that fear and distrust leads young black men to do moronic things when they encounter police, which leads to many more police shootings. This case is a perfect example. Had this kid cooperated, the female cop would've never mistakenly pulled her gun, thinking it was her tazer. If the kid hadn't tried to drive off, she would not have pulled the trigger, thinking she was tasing him, while instead shooting him. It's not Wright's fault that the officer made a huge mistake, but his actions led to her being put in the position to make the mistake.1 point

A whole lot happens between middle school and graduation. A whole lot. I'll take note when an area team (other than WOS/Newton) actually beats a team from out of the area. Normally Round 2/3 is about the end of the road. EC is the exception to that recently. We'll see.1 point -
