I will never put down the coaches of another sport, never. And to be honest, yes an elite track and field coach has to be a master at a number of different techniques, especially in the field events and be able to train different athletes differently to ensure success. However, to put down football coaches and say track and field coaches have to do more coaching is completely asinine. The last time I checked the track or the pit didn't play defense. Or the opponents you were competing against weren't trying to score on you. Football coaches have to teach the same intricate techniques that track coaches teach, all while putting in a game plan against an opponent and including the factors of teamwork and collisions and opposing coaches planning to stop what you are doing. You are obviously not a high level football coach if you think track and field coaches have a more difficult job than football coaches.

  4. I thought Texas refused Dominion twice. I was wrong, it was three times. Even several Texas Democrats claimed Dominion “threatened the integrity of our elections” including “vote switching”. Evidently several States only looked at the cost and not the accuracy of the machines. [Hidden Content]

As someone who's never been particularly interested in Lamar basketball, all of this local talent means I'll go see a few games next year.

  7. The Barbay Brothers are going to stop running the Wing-T??? I really don't think so. They might be moving to the Spread-T, but still don't see them throwing it more than 10 times a game.

    What good has biden done?

So here we have a pipeline getting hacked but a voting machine can’t. Makes sense to me.

  12. Hey bullets13...you are correct. Those are good numbers. But it’s still not a good answer. Keep in mind, I’ve been vaccinated with 2 doses of the Moderna vaccine. The only answer to the original question, “How safe is the vaccine” is “Only time will tell...”. Also, the question is flawed in the first place. There are 3 (soon to be 4) vaccines available. One may be safer than the others. By trying to say the vaccines are safe or not safe right now is disingenuous. Once again, the only real answer is “I don’t know.” or “Only God knows.” I have faith that whatever decision I have made regarding vaccination that God will protect me and deliver me.

  13. Same here, but at least we agree that average teams like Crosby can can play for state championships now.

So you went with Buchanan and Surratt (check the spelling btw)? That's interesting you'd bring those guys up in conversation. Let me bring some other "big names" up and you tell me if they've won outside of the places that weren't already winning. I'll even give you the schools they've been recently at. Tom Westerburg (Barbers Hill via Allen) Todd Dodge (SLC, College, Marble Falls, Westlake) Rusty Nail (Mart [which is still winning state championships], Madisonville) Don Willis (Won several state championships in Oklahoma, Garland Lake View Centennial) Mike Spradlin (Temple, AD Magnolia, Rockwall Heath) I'll even give you this one. Michael Wall won state championships at Lake Travis and Temple as the offensive coordinator and he's the head coach at Willis right now. He was even on staff at Lake Travis when they won the 1st state championship and he'll tell you (as well as the other guys on that staff) that it was the senior class that year that changed the dynamic of the culture there. Look his record up at Willis and please tell me it's solely on coaching. They got rid of a guy that somewhat kept Willis competitive to hire Wall too. By your logic, or at least the things you're posting, winning is on coaching. Why do you think the NFL and other professional sports leagues have "tanking" years? They reinvest in their talent levels. If it didn't come down to Jimmys and Joes why in the world do NFL executives make the comments they do about infusing their rosters with talent? Sounds to me like someone needs to get into administration at Summer Creek so that they can be involved with the hiring and firing process.

  15. I certainly would hope a 6A squad would beat down these 4A-3A teams, but I get your point.

It's mainly their defense. Haven't had a good one since Coach Harrison's first year there. The DC from that year is not there anymore. Being in a district with NS, Atascocita, King and WB you had better be able to put together stops when need be, they couldn't do it last year, prime example: the WB game. Go watch that game.

  17. It’s all about what you want. If you want to watch Newton beat the crap out of teams you’ve never heard of, they’re a solid pick for an annual post season run. No food, though. At all. WOS is sparse on food as well, but always a playoff team. Silsbee has a consistently decent team, also, with marginally better chow. For the all around best package I’d pick PNG. Food is alright in mid county, the atmosphere is the best in the area hands-down, and you get one of the best rivalry games in the state with mid-county madness. Don’t let them lie about the stadiums. PNG’s top notch. HOWEVER, Bridge City can offer a stellar band performance, a statue commemorating our ‘66 State Championship, and a ceremonial flyover by the mosquito plane. Season tickets ARE still available, believe it or not.

  19. regarding live tackling, my guess is that the exact opposite is true and png's stance is not that rare...from what I hear and know, most teams avoid much heavy hitting in practices as it too often had resulted in injuries that kept players out of games...this is not different from nfl teams either...go to a live practice or training camp and you will not see players hitting the ground...heck, I've actually witnessed a player get yelled at for putting a player on the ground in an nfl practice...does it lead to poorer tackling? I certainly believe it does, but it does lead to fewer practice injuries, which I think is a huge plus...coaches just don't want players hurt in any circumstance, but losing them in practice drives them nuts. So rest easy, png fans...your lack of tackling and hitting in practice is not that rare
