And I just seen today boys golf won state. At this point I bet Argyle could win state in basket weaving.

Their girl's soccer team lost 1-0 in the regional finals to the eventual state winner. Their baseball team is currently 3 rounds deep in the playoffs, and their softball is currently alive in the 4th round. The boys soccer team had a disappointing year and lost in the 3rd round in a shootout to the eventual state runners up. They're literally good at every sport.

Prime example of: if you build it they will come. Once they jump into 5A D2 soon they'll probably be doing the same thing after about a 2yr adjustment.

Either way, it's pretty wild that you are here commenting on the job you were a finalist for, acting like you were not one of the finalists and purporting to have sources on the inside who were informing you of the process. I wish my school was well balanced like that. Had success in track and field with us winning state medals and of course the basketball team (boys and girls), but I’d LOVE to have Argyle’s success.

Just about every 4A and under job in the state is a stepping stone, with a very small amount of exceptions. You might get a rare instance of someone finding success at a small school and staying because the talent is so good there, or being loyal to where they grew up, but 99/100 coaches are going to keep trying to go to bigger schools and make more money or gain more rep. When you're talking about a school with Tarkington's talent, facilities, and pay, what coach is going to come work there and then stay if they're offered a job at a better place? It's just the reality of it.

I have a co-worker who’s son attends LCM and is going into the 10th grade next fall. He plays baseball and played football in jr high but not his freshman year. He said Peevey had a meeting with all parents of anyone in athletics and told them he had an open door policy but if the topic of why thier kid wasn’t playing enough or playing a different position then the conversation would be over. He Said the coach stated very throughly he would not tolerate that at all. We shall see. I hope the best for them, but it’s gonna take a culture change from the parents to make it happen.

It should really only hurt them for one alignment? All the New Caney ISD schools will drop to 5A-D2 for an alignment or two but they'll probably pick up around 1,000 kids over a 4 year period between the three schools and their talent level will be right back to where it is now. They also pay their head coaches very well in that district so they don't have retention problems. The growth in that area is absolutely crazy.

May want to change "Houston Westbury" to Westbury Christian? Houston Westbury is a 6A squad in the district with Lamar, Bellaire, Heights, etc.

Now that most of the greatest generations have/are dying off. Tech plus the lack of self discipline will bring us; IMO, the worst generations. to me tech has way more cons than pros.

I'm going to say the number one issue in Tarkington is the people of the Prairie then the things you speak of. The only people that are more entitled than the community there is the community in Splendora.

The number one issue in Tarkington will be facilities!!!! The admin and community have to make sure they have necessary equipment and training facilities. They also need to locate someone who is not looking for a stepping stone job....and support that guy!!! They have been terrible not trending upward at all....even after dropping.

I guess they are doing something right. Highly unlikely that that many sports are qualifying for championships. Or maybe they have tapped into the Yates pipeline. Lol

Unfortunately farm boy strength usually does not help you run faster, jump higher or be more explosive which are somewhat important in football, basketball, baseball and track.
