I guess my real question is “when does the healing begin?” We are all being played against each other by racist organizations and politics.2 points -
Since this is off topic and I don’t want it to stay off topic but I will leave it at this...... I have found that supporters of pro life to be set as such. I have never witnessed or known of someone being a pro lifer switching over to pro choice. besides God’s Holy Word .....pro choice argument goes against itself because that life your taking doesn’t get the choice. what’s there to debate? You either believe in killing the innocent or you don’t? No debate necessary. It’s really simple.2 points

CARL ABSECK NAMED NEW AD/HFC AT BARBERS HILL

Hearing he's taking a Central Texas AD job. I wonder what BH's approach will be on this hire? They wanted coaches with championships under their belts and as such the last two coaches came to BH with six combined 6A titles(Gage's 2 at Lewisville would be considered 6A now). Over that eleven year span BH has won two district titles and has three playoff wins. Not to mention in the last five years they've compensated the Westerberg family right around $2M. Does BH back the Brinks truck up to a guy right down I-10 like John Kay at North Shore and pitch the idea that he can be the head football coach and the AD? Does the BH administration finally realize these guys they're hiring with multiple titles also have talent near the top of the class and hire a guy like Jeff Riordan, or do they go down the same route where they pay a bunch of money to a guy near the end of his career just to say they have a championship coach? I think Westerberg accomplished what he set out to do when he took the BH job. He made a bunch of money in a short span, got his son a head coaching job at Whitehouse and parlayed his time on The Hill into an even better retirement job. So much for great coaches being able to win anywhere.2 points -

Good post, I would point out when referring to “King” George, you have to be specific. 🙂2 points -
Not sure if anyone has been following, but we had a rare occurrence this week. Two district foes met in the finals for a state championship. After finishing first and second at the district tournament AND AGAIN at the regional tournament, Sabine Pass’s Travis Mistry and Deweyville’s James Menard met in the final match at the 2A State Tournament. As was the case the previous two times, Mistry again came out on top. But what an incredible accomplishment for both young men - congrats! [Hidden Content]1 point

You can find the same things on Indian Reservations, Appalachia, and River Bottoms across the land. The difference is that we tell our kids that those people are eff-ups and you tell yours that it’s not black peoples’ fault… it’s racism.1 point -

I commend you on your efforts.... people do make it out of what your talking about so if they can so can others.......like you said it comes down to “making good decisions” do away with that “sense (feelings) of hopelessness” even if stumbling blocks come and be persistent in doing better no matter what comes one s way. Family environment is usually a key to a child’s success no matter the poverty level or race. adults have to act right as well as hold kids accountable1 point -

TW only won three playoff games at BH and finished above 3rd place one time, and both of those wins were in the same year. No 5A teams in the Houston area except Manvel and probably FB Marshall has more playoff wins in the last 15 years than Crosby, and that's without last year's run. We've only missed the playoffs once in like 16 years and have won or tied for the DC multiple times. Our normal run was losing in the second round when only 32 teams are left playing, also had a regional championship in '14 during that time. We've also produced countless collegiate signees in that time period. That's what it takes to be a top 20 program in 5A and be considered average. You would certainly have to consider BH below average using those metrics. Yeah, nobody expected him to turn BH into Allen but he should've at least turned them into Crosby.1 point -

She’s an Air Force veteran who served two tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Not your average American. I may question her decision to join in the Capital storming, but not ready to question her patriotism, however misguided it may be. Also, reporting the crowd as armed insurrectionist (you didn’t but some have) is a misnomer. Only shot fired was by a Capital Officer, killing Ms. Babbitt. I’m not against Police shooting lawbreakers. My problem is we have armed insurrectionist/Anarchist controlling parts of several major cities, and no one is doing 💩 about it. Why aren’t we Shooting them, and the rioters destroying businesses? If it worked at the Capital, it’ll work in our cities. Jmo1 point

Well, while he probably wouldn't turn down the job if offered, posturing to be Scott Carter's successor is not the driving force behind him taking the PN-G. He wanted to raise his kids in a community that supports its school. And with the possible exception of when PN-G loses to Nederland at MCM, PN-G is the perfect example of that.1 point -
I live in Fannett, and just got hired to teach at HFE next year. I hope they have this kind of success, but this seems overly optimistic.1 point

It's just been a weird dynamic on this one for me... many of the same people that are pissed about this officer making a split-second decision to shoot an insurrectionist breaching the house chambers don't have any of the same animosity towards an officer who spent nearly a quarter of an hour kneeling on a handcuffed subject's neck.1 point

I bet they reached out to Surratt. And he informed them that he already makes that much money. Who's next? Wouldn't think John Kay but Westerberg left Allen. Maybe they should go after a smaller school coach. What about Chris Koetting? Head coach of Canadian.1 point -

Barbers Hills, Orangefield, Woodville and Evadale remain - as does Buna (the only team I didn’t mention when I originally posted). When the season started Buna was on fire, but then cooled down a little bit. Man did they pick the right time to catch fire. Best of luck to all our teams remaining in the playoffs. Pitching is great, and it keeps you in games but you will never win a 0-0 game. You gotta score runs so spend time working on scenarios, hit-hit and then hit again, and you gotta lay the bunt down when coach calls for it. Enjoy every minute players AND parents!1 point -

I know everyone thinks George is King, and he is well deserving of that moniker. But if not for Whitley’s demons, he definitely would have been on the same level as Stait, if not bigger. For the record, not one Strait song on my playlist, but loaded with Keith Whitley. Not that I dislike George, just like Whitley better.1 point -

7 on 7 has to be the most overrated gauge to what teams are able to accomplish going into a season or to show what they've done in the off season. It's good for competition, don't get me wrong, but isn't there a group of Hornets that won the 7 on 7 state championship but was lucky to win 4 games the next year?1 point
