My postings may be erratic. I sometimes try to think of something profound, but can’t. Then a couple come along, like today. Was reading an old post I kept on S. Print of a Bible quote from 2nd Timothy Ch 4 vs 3 & 4. I’m using the St Joseph, but it’s virtually the same in King James. I became Catholic about 50 years ago. Once had a Catholic Priest preach, “The main thing is to be a good Christian. If there’s something in Catholicism that’s a barrier to you being a good Christian, you might consider becoming a Baptist or Methodist (some old parishioners dropped their teeth, lol). Personally, I thought it the most Christian thing I’d ever heard anyone say. At that time, “new” non-denominational Churches were almost unheard of. Now they’re everywhere. I’m sure some may be fine, but I wonder about others, which brings me back to this Bible quote: 3- The time is sure to come when people will not accept sound teaching, but their ears will be itching for anything new and they will collect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own taste. 4- And then they will shut their ears to the truth and will turn to myths. Point is, if for whatever reason your Church is blocking you from being a good Christian, be careful you don’t pick a Church that leads you astray.3 points

Had a meme for a while. Has an US Flag on top & a Texas Flag underneath. And in the middle a black square with the words: I WISH AMERICANS LOVED AMERICA LIKE TEXANS LOVE TEXAS There’s more than humor there. I wish it was true. Listening to a radio talk show & they had an owner of a Flag store on. She said there were more Texas Flags sold than the other 49 States combined. Think about that. Yes, I wish Americans loved America as much as Texans love Texas.3 points

no more burger king for me until they change their evil, unbiblical ways! Chick-Fila is pounding the competition. I can understand others wanting to attack in some fashion to become more competitive. But -- to think that siding with the LGBQ-LMNOP movement is the way to go, well, I hope hope they sink to the bottom with all the other devils!2 points

Preying on kids
5GallonBucket and one other reacted to Hagar for a topic
Yes, we all sin. I can’t throw stones, but this is not about individuals, it’s about television network(s) throwing stuff at kids they shouldn’t. Would anyone want those Networks showing pornography? Of course not. Young children are not mature enough (IMO) to decide on their gender or sexual orientation. Kids should be kids. To many are growing up at to early an age. I hate to see young kids & teenagers who’ve already lost the sparkle in their eyes. To many have the eyes of a 40 year old. Breaks my heart.2 points -
They refused to accept the same offer the men got. They ended up signing a contract which was more than the men got. After refusing the same deal and holding out for a better deal, they ended up making more money than the men and now they claim discrimination. Now the national Democrats are holding up the women’s soccer team as an example of discrimination and unequal pay. Go figure. I think it goes back to the Democratic playbook that no matter what the argument is or what the facts are, you simply claim discrimination. If you oppose their claim, you’re a racist, sexist, homophobe.....2 points

I would be curious to know how many of our youngsters know what happened on this date. The greatest generation earned their title and paid dearly for the right to be free. I doubt we have too many (if any) who served during that time on our message board, but I bet we all know or have someone in our family who served. Thank-you for the sacrifices that were made that day and all of our WWII vets. God bless America!!!!1 point -
Omar Compares US to Hamas & Taliban
5GallonBucket reacted to Hagar for a topic
And Tlaib is defending her. How can anyone vote Democrat when they compare the US with Hamas & the Taliban? Oh, because they hate. Dems love to hate. They hate God, The US, Whites, Asians, Patriots, the American Flag, unborn children, etc, etc. [Hidden Content]1 point -
True story. I'm have too many discussions weekly with my 12 year old granddaughter explaining why we, as Christians, oppose to LGBTQ, gay pride, pride month etc. All the while Nicleodean is promoting, indoctrinating the gay life acceptance. She wants to know why I hate gay people. (that's what she's being fed). I'm defending my beliefs to her and trying to explain that we love gay people, love the sinner, hate the sin.1 point

What a joke. Chick-Fila has a line in their drive-thru all day long......never a letup. There is no other food franchise that can compete with that, even though they are closed on Sunday. Figure what Chick-Fila takes in a day, minus Burger King’s take, I’ll gladly take the difference. I quit Burger King a long time ago, back when they changed the meat patties.1 point

Preying on kids

I didn't take it mean that homosexuals were more likely to prey upon children than a hetero is to prey up on a child of the opposite sex. I think (or at least I hope) he's talking about outsiders trying to impress kids with their own views on sexuality before most parents would be willing to have that type of conversation with their own kids. And as Christian, I think labeling peoples' Biblically based beliefs as "offensive" or "hate speech" a little over-the-top as well. I think you should be free to do whatever you want and I the same... as long as we're not trampling each other's rights, there's no problem. Lastly, I don't think God is any more bothered by your homosexuality than he is by my sleeping around. But He hasn't gotten back with me on that, lol. No hate, my man.1 point -

Hagar reacted to LumRaiderFan for a topic
I think that's the reason lots of older folks (myself included) in the US don't enjoy watching soccer, we never played it. Soccer wasn't played in school when I was there and my kids played some soccer but mostly other sports. I can definitely appreciate the athleticism required to move a ball down the field and score with no hands, lol.1 point -

I pretty much think the same. I can see where it would be a very fun game to play but not to watch. There are other sports that people who are not into it would consider boring and I get that. I like to play golf and sometimes I like to watch golf, when it’s a big tournament and some of the big-name players on on the leaderboard. The fact that someone who does not like golf would think it’s boring, I completely understand. There is very little action. I cannot stand NASCAR. I think it would be like some people watching golf or me watching soccer. If I had the option of watching an entire NASCAR race or changing a flat on someone’s car, I would choose changing the flat. Watching the cars go around the same cycle for an hour is not appealing. An apparently very popular sport with some people loving it. I’m glad that it exist and so many people pleasure from watching. I just think it’s boring. And likewise, I think soccer is boring.1 point -

He did play for the Golden Gators though. Only us olds remember that team.1 point -

What I mean to say is that your complicit stance of “To each (sic) it’s own” doesn’t really fit. Very often unless you fervently embrace the LGBTQ1C… practices and ideology then you will be marked as a bigoted hate monger. They will attempt to cancel you.1 point -

Then what is it....you gonna come up with another name so it lessens the negative connotation..... like using abortion instead of murder using fetus instead of baby. it s astonishing how far people will go to justify wrongs. Your lifestyle is offensive to a greater being than myself. You ever thought of that.....Conscience. And don’t come on here trying to justify a wrong doing by other s wrong doings. That’s a weak and lame argument. I have a cousin that is gay.....He knows I love him but he also knows I disapprove of his lifestyle. broadcasting that lifestyle is not for the greater good PERIOD. and especially when it comes to lil children.1 point -
The US women's soccer team and now democratic congress is continuing to keep up the charade that the women aren't being fairly treated, despite the fact that the women are receiving much more compensation than the men, which was verified when their lawsuit was struck down a few months ago. Critical Race Theory
Chester86 reacted to LumRaiderFan for a topic
[Hidden Content] More pushback...from the article: A Virginia mom who endured Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution before immigrating to the U.S. ripped a Virginia school board at a public meeting Tuesday over its stubborn support of the controversial critical race theory. "I’ve been very alarmed by what’s going on in our schools," Xi Van Fleet told the Loudoun County School Board members. "You are now teaching, training our children to be social justice warriors and to loathe our country and our history." She likened CRT, which critics deride as a form of "neo-racism," to China’s Cultural Revolution, a Mao-led purge that left between 500,000 and 20 million people dead from 1966 to 1976. The estimates vary greatly and many details have been shrouded in secrecy for decades.1 point -

Agree 100%, I have been around quite a few home schooled kids and most seem to be confident and well rounded. The ones that have entered the public or private school systems are many times more advanced than their peers. I think it's great, but it takes special parents to pull it off, not sure I would make that cut, lol.1 point -

To each his own. I think you want me to debate you and become open to the ways of the world. I’m not sure which characteristics you say I lack, but I am okay with who I am. I sin daily, am convicted and do what I can to be the best Christian I can be. I serve a risen Savior and wish you nothing but the best. I believe the topic was Critical Race Theory, and I do not agree with it. Hopefully that gets things back on track.1 point -

Your opinion. We home-schooled our three boys and all three are contributing members of society. I appreciate your perspective but I strongly disagree. The right to educate our children in the way we see fit is our right. There is nothing wrong with a Christ-based education.1 point -

The enterprise needs to give out awards in small and big school divisions, but they won't, it's too much work. To only have ten spots for kids from however many local schools (50? 100? Not sure what their coverage area is), they're clearly trying to avoid giving out 3-4 awards to one school. they easily could've done that with United this year, and Silsbee in years past. The Super Gold teams have never been done well. In high school I was a 4-year first team all-district soccer player, was offensive MVP of the district twice, and set season and career school records in goals and points that haven't been broken 17 years later, and I never even made second team. One year two players from my district who scored less goals and had less assists than me both made the team ahead of me in the same position. It's a cool honor for those who receive it, but those that are left out shouldn't put any stock in it.1 point

Turf makes waayyy too much sense at the larger school levels, especially when you factor in the beating the field takes in the spring semester w/soccer etc...its a tougher sell at the small school level, but I think if you can buy quality turf and have it last eight years or so it often pays itself back w/the reduced maintence costs and practice time thats not missed1 point -
May you have a blessed Sunday morning. I’m in my rolling office, patrolling but worshipping via my FM radio. “There’s no reason to stay in the grave - The Stone’s been rolled away, He took to the cross, submitted to death, He loved each of us with His last fleeting breath, Then He shattered the locks that were holding the chains, Took back the keys to every prison you’ve made, We can live in this freedom today - The Stones been rolled away!!!” Politics, sports, careers, pain and suffering will all fade away but there is eternal life awaiting if you’ll just believe. May God bless each of you this week.1 point
