I think BH is chasing the SLC, LT, HP, Westlake and to an extent Prosper models but the money there is just on a different level. Not to mention a place like SLC has former Dallas Cowboy kids playing for them on a regular basis to go along with the finances. BH's growth may hurt more than help in the near future with them being pushed to 6A probably even before Crosby. Deep Park has 4,000 kids, all the things you would need to be successful on the field and has had decent coaches but still can't seem to find their way. DP is almost a mirror image of BH in terms of demographics and is located in a not good, but great area for the purposes of talent acquisition but have still seemed to struggle to upgrade their personnel? I think they're going to have to do it the old fashioned way with hard work, good coaching and pretty much homegrown talent. BH would greatly benefit from some of the transfers in that NE quadrant of the beltway but for whatever reason they just don't come. *For reference, BH High is the closest district school to Crosby High by distance. However, Crosby High is closer to North Shore, CE King, Channelview, Atascocita, Summer Creek and all three Baytown high schools.

That reminds me of another joke... A 60-year-old, 70-year-old and 80-year-old men were sitting around arguing one day on what age was worst to reach when getting old. The 60 year old said, I get up at 6 every morning and go to the bathroom but I stand there for several minutes but and it just trickles and almost nothing comes out. The 70 year old said, that’s nothing. I get up at 7am and have to go poop but I sit there for 20 minutes and nothing happens. The 80-year-old man said, y’all have it easy. To which the 60-year-old said, you can’t go urinate in the morning either? The 80-year-old man said, sure, at 6am it comes like a flood. The 70-year-old then said, oh so you can’t go poop either? The 80-year-old said, sure, at 7am it is like the gates open and you can’t stop it. So the 60 and 70-year-old men asked, then what’s the problem? The 80-year-old man replied, “you don’t wake up until 8”.

It would've helped if BH won consistently in the lower levels like the SLC's of the world to help attract athletes but just East Goose Creek from a football perspective. And with Sheldon ISD building the latest school/stadium, I don't see BH siphoning kids from north of 90......

"Austin area" almost makes you feel it's Abseck for sure since based on the two previous coaching hires the other two possible candidates actually work IN the Austin city limits. Probably reading way too much into the wording though? I highly doubt they go with the curveball in this situation but Liberty Hill is also in the Austin area.

That’s total BS. Just because you interview them doesn’t mean you have to hire them. Why are you so prejudiced? Goodness know you know about discrimination, yet you think it’s ok to discriminate against non black races. Do you think that they should also be required to interview Mexicans, Chinese, Indians or other people of color or are you satisfied as long as a black person gets interviewed. What about women? Shouldn’t they get a chance? Shouldn’t we try to give the job to a LGBR549 person that’s in the midst of a gender change? WHERE DOES IT END????????????

We can make stuff up. It’s what a race card does for people. If an employer has to hie someone strictly because of their sexual preference, then I have been discriminated against. Of course you won’t understand that concept because you possess a race card.

That reminds me of a joke… A couple in their 70s were watching TV late one night and the old lady told her husband, why don’t you go to the kitchen and get me some ice cream, I want chocolate. I'd argue and say they are some of the best umpires in the state. In the end, they got it right. That's their job. Far too often it seems we have umpires more interested in being right than actually getting it right. I give a ton of credit to that crew for getting together and making sure the correct decision was made.

And these are suppose to be the best umpires in the state......

The same can be said about the Rooney rule in the nfl. Teams MUST interview a person, for a coaching position, that is not white before they can hire anyone. How on earth is this not a racist rule?

From what I’m reading, they got the call correct. It’s a timing play not a force. As long as run scored before they tagged 2nd, then the run counts.

I want to expose y’all now to getting old. It happens to most all of us at some time in our lives. I’ve already posted about the “time flies” anomaly, and here’s a few others. It’s jokingly put on memes, but you really will walk into rooms sometimes and forget why. Dr appt for physicals - when younger a formality. When you’re old, you say a silent prayer, “please don’t let them find anything else wrong”. When we’re young, we urinate like a fire hose. As you get older, don’t be surprised if it’s more like a sprinkler system. And of course, the dreaded memory loss. Don’t panic and immediately think you’ve got Alzheimer’s. Most of us get some dementia as we age. If not for Internet search engines, I’d have to quit posting. Spelling. Names. Events. Lol, I’m probably one of the top users of searches. You’ll spend a lot of time at Funerals, culminating with your own. Sad to see old friends moving on, and it’s a constant reminder of your own inevitable end. Finally, I’ve noticed folks seem to get closer to God, or, and I find this odd, some reject him towards the end. That last part is a mystery to me. Perhaps connected to the strange things happening in the old brain? No idea, but it doesn’t make sense.

Manners are gone. Common decency and respect for elders is gone. The attitude now is say whatever you want (free speech), do whatever you want (defund the police), act however you want (it’s not your fault - it’s society, the government, your parent’s fault, etc). As people continue to turn their back on God, and as our country continues to distance itself from Him we as a country will continue rolling downhill like a snowball headed for hell.

This is Coach Lance Dale and I appreciate the confidence or joking matter of y’all using my name for the Tarkington job which ever one it was but FYI I am very happy in Anahuac and have been promoted to OC next year and love working for Coach Greg Neece!!! Go Panthers. I have no interest in this job but I wish Tarkington the very best!!!! I hope this clears this matter up for everyone.

Just about every 4A and under job in the state is a stepping stone, with a very small amount of exceptions. You might get a rare instance of someone finding success at a small school and staying because the talent is so good there, or being loyal to where they grew up, but 99/100 coaches are going to keep trying to go to bigger schools and make more money or gain more rep. When you're talking about a school with Tarkington's talent, facilities, and pay, what coach is going to come work there and then stay if they're offered a job at a better place? It's just the reality of it.
