I 100% agree with you on that. The thing is the state championship posts are coming from people outside of BH. I’m saying the community has a whole is happy to get the playoffs and have some success. If somehow we catch lightning in a bottle and stars align and we pull a Crosby last year, Great. If we move up to 5A D1 or even 6A then we are in major trouble and have to hope for 4th place finish. I think we know in football that we don’t have the “Joe’s”, but we compete and make the playoffs in all sports. Schools with “ athletes” aka black kids can’t all say that. I know it’s a football thread, but when was the last time Beaumont United or PAM went to the playoffs in baseball or softball? I think we do pretty well and will continue to do pretty well with what we have to work with.

Why aren't people scrutinizing the constantly unsuccessful Hispanic HISD teams about their lack of diversity? You never hear any of that. Lindale 21 (mixed) 4A-II Carthage 70 (mixed) Gilmer 14 (mixed) On top of that, the two 3A Champs, Jim Ned and Canadian were all white So your 8 winners in the 4 largest classifications are White or mostly white - 5 teams Mixed - 2 teams Black - 1 team Bottom line is, white teams did very well in 2020-21 but almost anyone can win in any year. So, why are people sooo compelled to pick apart the "white teams" but stay stone cold silent on all black and all hispanic teams that don't win big? Lets put race aside. Let BH be BH, let BU be BU, and let everyone else just be who they are without racial judgment. Lets put race aside just enjoy the games!

Your comments are spot on, I was just relating what I felt was the Lefts end game. They knew I would be challenged unless it magically turned into a tax, which it did. During the time they were trying to passing the bill, I had a 2 hour commute each day from Spring to the Astrodome/South 610 area. Listened to a lot of talk radio which turned into reading what parts of the bill you could find on line. It was made to fail...

If someone doesn’t want to play for BH then so be it. We’ll be just fine. Nobody here is begging for anyone to move here to play football. We’ll still make the playoffs with the kids we have that abide by the rules put in place. The folks on the outside can keep on coming up with whatever agenda they want. We keeping the BH way unless the community, school board, and superintendent change it. Like I’ve said before, I could careless about someone’s hair length, color, sexual preference, or whatever, but mine will abide by the rules in place. When they graduate HS, they can color their hair purple and grow in to their ankles. Btw, that kid your talking about didn’t play football, in fact I don’t think he played any sport.

It could always be open carried under the LTC as long it was on you in a holster. What has almost go unnoticed, they also passed a law in this legislative session that if it is open carried in a car (regardless of constitutional carry or LTC), as long as it is in a holster it does not have to be on your person. As an example you could have a paddle holster or concealed carry holster and not actually have to wear it in the car. You could leave it in the holster on the seat because for some people it is uncomfortable to wear it while in the car. With this new clarification you can leave it in the holster on the seat so you could easily put it on as you are getting out to go shopping, etc.

You raise a good point. They will be on everyone’s radar after week 1. I noticed all the real estate signs around Tyler county have been mysteriously disappearing. So if they don’t make it to state there may be lots of real estate for sale. I didn’t know there were so many athletic boosters with Corvettes in this county ,but they are washed up and looking good for the trips to Walmart. Don’t worry about Woodville we have nothing to see.

I don't think most people will stay home. Watching live on the computer isn't comparable to the real thing, and if someone cares enough about the game to have a Texan Live subscription, they care enough to physically be at the game if they are able (not to mention that they care enough about the game to try to watch even though the streaming is often cut off, frozen, or lagging - Streaming is often not for the lazy fans, but for dedicated fans). I suspect most people streaming live are doing so because they otherwise wouldn't be able to go to the game. Or, it's people who weren't even considering going to the game but might want to watch. In both of those groups, no potential game-goer was removed from the stadium - It actually grows the list of people who watch the game because without streaming neither of those groups watches at all. I agree there is likely a third group that consists of people who might have otherwise gone to the game but choose to stream at home, but I don't expect that would be a significant number to appreciably reduce revenues, particularly if the schools are able to charge for the streaming somehow. But, in fairness, it would be interesting to try to come up with an estimate of game attendance vs streaming from year to year so see if you're correct. All of that being said, by choosing to stream last year I missed out on the radio color commentary, and I think the PNG guys do a really good job. I wish the 92.5 team would just do a video with their commentary to radio (for the radio crowd) so we can watch the streams with the PNG guys (or, with whatever team does it for the team you support -- I know Nederland, Silsbee, and West Orange have well-established radio broadcasts every Friday).

He’s not coaching this year. He’s been an assistant and the JV coach at HJ for the past 7 years. He took an assistant principal job this coming school year. Had another baby and needed a salary bump for a while 😂

Coach Porter did a pretty good job this year, his group won 18 games with a pretty young group if I’m mistaken. He also worked hard and the players respected him just by watching those kids play hard for him.

The idea that anyone can comfortably sleep at 82 degrees is insane. We put it in 70 and have 3 fans going in the room at night.

I think folks that normally go to games will still go because that's the thing that they do on a normal Fall Friday night, I can see more elderly folks and folks with very young kids taking advantage of this though.
