You remember the McCloskeys. The St. Louis couple who took their guns out in their yard to protect themselves from the BLM crowd who, ignoring the No Trespassing signs, had torn down part of their fence and were in their yard. Officials there confiscated their guns. Hereās Mr. & Mrs. McCloskey getting him a new AR-15. Way to go McCloskeys! [Hidden Content]1 point -
Good for them. The confiscation of their weapons was unconstitutional anyway. They should move to Texas. We can always use some more law-abiding, gun-toting couples.1 point

I could really care less who won, but the people complaining should focus their energy on the people that did not vote. Beaumont hs a population of about 118,000 and less than 20,000 voted, I think it was around 17,000.......and the REALLY sad part, is that was higher than the last Mayor vote........1 point -

Teachers today have a lot of the same problems Police are having. No one (in this case, students) shows any respect anymore. If the District doesnāt have a strict policy, and I bet few do, kids are going to go as far as they can. Students calling the teachers names, right in the classroom, is ridiculous. Were I a teacher, I doubt Iād make a half a day before wearing a belt/board out & getting fired. They must be saints to put up with the šš©. I go back to a study done some years back were school students on Military bases scored higher that their public counterparts, even with higher integration ratios. Reason was discipline. Little Johnny get rowdy, teacher tells Jonnys parents First Sgt, Who Calls the parents in and tells them to get Johnny in line - end of problem. No matter the color/race, most kids arenāt stupid. Put them in a highly disciplined environment and youāll see better test scores.1 point -
Like Chester, my mindās made up. The 2020 election was the equivalent of an election in Russia. The outcome was decided long before any ballots were cast. The math, the crowds (or lack thereof), the candidates (Harris was most unpopular Dem), all,add up to the election being fraudulent. Hopefully, the new voting laws will see a return of voter confidence, but if there arenāt any Republicans counting votes, Dems will always win.1 point

As recently as, maybe 25 years ago when a majority white city in Beaumont elected a black mayor and I think reelected him 2 or 3 more times? I know it is not a long time ago but 5 years ago a county thatās about 60% white elected a black female sheriff and the re-elected her? Could it be 9 years ago when state Representative James White from Woodville won (I think 5 times so far) as a black man in a district that is almost 80% white? I think that White itās not going to run again. Many people are speculating that he will run as a lieutenant governor candidate. If that is true we potentially could have Allen West and James White as a governor and lieutenant governor with both being the first black in those positions and also both Republicans. Go figure. We can each have our own beliefs for our own reasons but I wonder how long the complaint will be, but we cannot get ahead because we are ___________ (fill in the blank). The ones that I just named are examples that came off the top of my head and in this immediate area. Outside of our area we could write volumes but as a single example could it be like Mia Love? Love was born in NYC and not only a black female but born to parents who emigrated from Haiti. But where was she elected 11 years ago? Perhaps in the Democratic stronghold of NYC? Nope, in Sarasota Springs, Utah she was elected to the city council and then mayor in a city that is approximately 90% white. Wait, a black female elected mayor not in a city not with barely has a white majority but one where 9 out of 10 are white? Then she went on to serve two terms in the US House of Representatives from the same district. So I wonder, when?1 point -

Mr. Buddy Garrity reacted to BMTSoulja1 for a topic
Personally, I was shocked based on how the previous two decades of Beaumont politics ran. But I will say this. Mrs. Mouton has more political experience and does more in the community than Mr. West. I just thought that having two negatives ( being a woman and an African American) would work against her. Good to see her supporters come out.1 point -
This may ramble even more, so bear with me. As humans we have mental human limitations (at least I do). I canāt imagine a universe with no end. In my mind, there should be a border, a drop off, a wall - something. Canāt even begin to imagine what would be on the other side of that - something. That mental limitation prevents us from understanding Godās love for us, until something happens to enlighten us somewhat. I use to ask myself, how could God continue to love us when weāre constantly ignoring him and being.....well, bad. Then I got enlightened. Prior to going in Marines, our Grandson worked at Tractor Supply. One day he heard a noise from a pallet full of feed stacked 4 to a layer with a hole in the middle. At the bottom of that hole was a kitten about a month old, skinny & full of fleas. He got her out & brought her home & him & his Dad bathed her and de-fleaed her. He couldnāt keep her in his apartment so she ended up with me & my wife. Took her to the Vet when a little older for shots and neutered. We hadnāt had pets in forever. Didnāt really want one, but inevitably we fell in love with āMaiseā. Now some of you have never had cats. Theyāre to heck & gone from dogs, who (for the most part) are loving & obedient. Cats think they run things. Rarely display affection, and ignore commands. Point is, we still love her - despite the ignoring & lack of affection from her, yep, we still love her. I guess thatās the way God loves us, even when we ignore him, and ignore his Commandments. I hope his post hasnāt offended anyone. It could be construed as being sacrilegious I guess, but certainly not my intention. I do find it amazing that I can learn something about (from?) God from a durn cat, I guess thereās a little bit of God all around us if we just look for him.1 point

To the disdain of many I believe there were numerous improprieties in this past election. Too many things just didnāt meet the logic or smell test. With that being said, I am so tired of all these commissions, groups, investigations researching everything. The lines are drawn, we believe what we believe and they believe what they believe. There are ideological and definitive divisions within this country that I fear will never heal. There is manipulation through the varying media formats that are doing their job and doing it well. I truly believe that EVEN if one of these investigations found a āsmoking gunā the media would bury it, or that person would be found shot in the back of the head - committing āsuicideā. Circle the wagons, prepare yourselves for very tough times ahead, and make things right with God.1 point

The raises theyāre giving to most of the workers are fairly small, but welcomed and necessary. One part in there is important, though, and thatās where theyāre looking at equity adjustments for diagnosticians. That job is monumentally important, and for some reason BISD hasnāt been even close to competitive with their pay in that position, while overworking those employees. A diagnostician is in charge of all testing, paperwork, ARD meetings and more for all special education students at their campus. Theyāre also in charge of keeping the district in compliance with the state, and from getting sued by angry parents. My wife was a diag at BISD for one year. She was responsible for three schools, and also had to do all of the speech paperwork (absolutely not in her job description) at two of those campuses because they didnāt have full-time speech pathologists. She was also in charge of the early childhood intake for the entire district, meaning she was responsible for the testing of any special needs child coming into any pre-k in the district to see if they qualified. She would work all day, have to drive around town to different campuses, then come home and work a few more hours almost every night. After that year she was hired in the same position at a much smaller district. One campus, no additional unpaid work roles, and a substantial raise. Her workload was legitimately cut by 2/3, and sheās better paid. BISD has to solve that problem. Paying the position competitively is a big start.1 point

Word! Why aren't people scrutinizing BU and PAM etc. about their lack of athletic diversity? Why aren't people scrutinizing the constantly unsuccessful Hispanic HISD teams about their lack of diversity? You never hear any of that. I don't know why EVERYTHING has to be about race, but if it really, really does, lets take a hard look: 6A-I: Westlake 52 (almost all white) Southlake Carroll 34 (almost all white) 6A-II Katy 51 (mostly white but call it Mixed) Cedar Hill 14 (all black) 5A-I Denton Ryan 59 (mostly black) Cedar Park (mostly white) 14 5A-II Aledo 56 (almost all white) Crosby 21 (mixed) 4A-I Argyle 49 (all white?) Lindale 21 (mixed) 4A-II Carthage 70 (mixed) Gilmer 14 (mixed) On top of that, the two 3A Champs, Jim Ned and Canadian were all white So your 8 winners in the 4 largest classifications are White or mostly white - 5 teams Mixed - 2 teams Black - 1 team Bottom line is, white teams did very well in 2020-21 but almost anyone can win in any year. So, why are people sooo compelled to pick apart the "white teams" but stay stone cold silent on all black and all hispanic teams that don't win big? Lets put race aside. Let BH be BH, let BU be BU, and let everyone else just be who they are without racial judgment. Lets put race aside just enjoy the games!1 point -

We keeping the BH way unless the community, school board, and superintendent change it. Like Iāve said before, I could careless about someoneās hair length, color, sexual preference, or whatever, but mine will abide by the rules in place. Coach AB can recruit. His track record at UH on the recruiting trail was outstanding. His track record at UH coaching up kids was outstanding. I think the world of Coach AB. I'm glad he is finding talent and getting those kids to Beaumont. I know this...if those recruits will buy-in, play with great effort, and play defense, they will rack-up wins. Coach AB will demand effort on the boards, intensity on the boards, and defense. Play as hard as you can, for as long as you can, rebound, and guard your man. If you do those things, you will play. If you do not do those things, then grab some bench. I don't know if LU will be dancing in year one, but the Cards will compete, rebound, and defend. By years two and three, Coach AB should have the Cards banging on the door for March Madness. Go Coach AB! Peace.1 point -
