Chad Dallas drafted by Toronto
td and one other reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
Congratulations [Hidden Content] Round 4, 121st overall: Chad Dallas, RHP, Tennessee Notable Skill: Dallas added a cutter recently and it quickly became his best pitch, giving right-handed hitters fits. That pitch sits in the mid-80s behind his fastball, which sits 90-94 mph but has touched 98 mph. At 5-foot-11 and 206 pounds, Dallas doesn’t have the traditional starter’s build, but when the University of Tennessee recruited him as a reliever, he quickly pitched his way to being the program’s No. 1 starter. Dallas put up a 4.19 ERA this season, striking out 122 batters with just 20 walks over 103 innings, showing strong control of the zone. His secondary pitches will need to catch up, but that cutter has loads of potential. Fun Fact: His nickname is “Cheese.” Dallas’ brother, Jack, is a pitcher at Lamar University and his father, Tony, played baseball at Panola College. In high school with West Orange-Stark, Dallas won consecutive Class 4A state championship games. Quotable: When Dallas arrived at Tennessee, two of his teammates -- Connor Pavolony and Evan Russell -- didn’t think he was a pitcher. Instead, they admitted to him later that they first thought he was a catcher, as Dallas told Knox News. “Size is for the eyes, wins are for the stats,” Dallas said.2 points -
Man at memorial most teachers I knew cared I’m talking spending out there pockets for supplies. Staying late to help failing kids. Buying uniforms/backpacks for kids. Most teachers I had were true blessings. And I went to memorial. You can’t force someone else child to learn but they sure tried.2 points

Woman accused of running over George Floyd protester found not guilty of assault
SmashMouth and one other reacted to bullets13 for a topic
I’m surprised more of these folks haven’t been shot. If I was driving through a city and protestors surrounded my vehicle, started screaming, banging on the vehicle, etc., I don’t think it would be unreasonable to fear for my life in that situation. If my wife and kids were with me, I’d be very quick to get out of the situation, no matter what it took.2 points -
As I morph from old man to curmudgeon, let me share some poo. Out last night and ran into an old friend. He made a remark, “I hate to get out because people are crazy”. Why bring it up? My wife & I have been complaining about that, so at least others see it. Drive like nuts. Zero manners. And cell phones - good grief. I contemplate the possible suicide rate if all the cell phones were taken away. Now, since my 300 or so TV stations are so bad, we were watching Dr. Pimple Popper. Lady had a large marble size cyst in her hair. She was concerned about having a bald spot up there when the cyst was removed. Ordinarily, I could understand her concern, but this lady had a lip ring and a nose ring. Heck, she could be bald and I wouldn’t notice it with Bubba’s Scrap Iron hanging out of every orifice. What is it that makes a person want to disfigure themselves? Guess I’m just getting old(er).1 point

If you can't keep up, admit it. We understand. If you can't find an adult, try to find a schoolkid (they are on summer break right now) to explain the links for you.1 point

You sound pretty bitter. Is your ex-wife a teacher? On a serious note, most professions have over achievers, achievers and under achievers and in most cases, most feel they are underpaid. I'm not in a position to tell a teacher, cop, nurse, salesman, union electrician, fast food worker, etc. that they are overpaid because I am none of those. I have not walked a step (much less a mile) in their shoes.1 point

Bolivar Flesh Eating Death

Been in Florida the last couple of weeks. Have not been to Bolivar since the red signs were posted. Going down there next week though. This happens when there is a lot of rain. Fresh water drainage coupled with the warm waters in the Gulf causes the high bacteria count. Plus, some people are just not sanitary.1 point -

Critical race?

I can make that assumption because there are no government sponsored programs that will guarantee me a job over better qualified candidates solely because of my skin color. Lace up the shoe, son… it’s yours and it fits.1 point -

Trump Asking For Donations.. Yet Again. Trumpers Never Learn Do They?
InMAGAWeTrust reacted to ladybug33 for a topic
There are some people who have tried to define the word Trumper. Here is a nice one I read that may explain what an INDEPENDENT may describe a Trumper. Trumper Generally, a gullible person who idol worships Donald Trump. Not to be confused with a Republican supporter. A lot of Trumpers, throughout their life have always considered themselves rebels and support anything anti establishment, especially any conspiracy theories. Feeling left behind by main stream politics, Trumpers align themselves with Donald Trump, based on his claim to be unlike all other politicians. They idolise Donald Trump to a point where they can excuse any of his false statements or unethical behaviour, by classing them as acceptible, or if really pressed by others, cast any accusations aside, as "fake news". Some Trumpers are even willing to risk their own health and life, to show their allegiance to Donald Trump by flouting health regulations and advice.1 point -
How Safe is the Vaccine ?
bullets13 reacted to SmashMouth for a topic
The heading of the article is misleading, if we are being honest. Tucker simply interpolates that a few thousand have died after being vaccinated. That is true. He never undeniably states they died BECAUSE of the vaccine though. That’s like saying that oxygen is killing all people. After all, every person that died breathed oxygen just before doing so. I’m not taking up for the vaccine. I’m simply saying you’ll get more traction to your argument with an honest and fair analysis of information (facts) that aren’t being skewed or presented with an agenda.1 point -
