Dana White from the UFC said it best… to paraphrase, he said “if you want to watch political crap, there are 80 other channels with something divisive on… we’re just gonna show fights.” Trump was at the show in Vegas last weekend and as far as I can tell the ufc just treated him like any other celebrity in attendance. No promo, no press… just a brief cameo and then back to the fights. People turn on sports to get away from their troubles… not get bashed over the head with non-stop lies about imagined oppression and perceived racism.

I have to agree with PAMFAM10 We have to stop judging one incident and putting it on an entire race or community. If this dude was black, fine, but he does not represent the black community..... I can only speak for me. After running a very successful discussions page on Facebook with over 4000 members, I have come to a couple conclusions. 1. To have a conversation, you must listen to the other person, and race conversations always become negative because both sides spend majority of time trying to win versus trying to listen.... Plus both sides are very passionate about the subject. 2. We live in a climate that if you disagree, you must hate. If you don't agree with the gay lifestyle, you are automatically deemed homophobic......If you don't agree with BLM, you're racist.......so, most sensible folks just elect to not comment or engage in conversation out of fear of being labeled. So, I'm very careful in what and how I comment on things. You can stand up for your race but be prepared to be challenged every time and ask yourself if it's worth it. I know, for me, it's not worth it. I have found that REAL life is much different that "internet" life.

The US is more liberal than conservative. Well, you know the of the suspect by it's conspicuous absence in the headline and story. Otherwise they'd have been all "white man assaults blah, blah, blah...." Our news is a joke.

This exact sentiment is why I always say it’s a lose lose for the bigger school to play down. If you lose you lose and if you win it’s like, “well you should, you’re twice as big”. I think that will be the exact scenario with Crosby at 1,818 and Carthage at 824.

PNG should be a pretty solid team all around. We have a stellar fieldgoal kicker. A bunch back on defense a new DC and a QB who has garnered accolades across the state in camps over the summer. The o-line will be pretty big this season ad well..

Yeah i’m not sold on Texas City, but I think PNG has adjusted that defense and will be back in the top 4. BH has a good lot coming back on the skill side, but time will tell if Abseck can get them going by district. Overall I don’t think you will see any team dominating district this year which will make for some good football 👍

We should start an exchange program. If you think American sucks, we exchange you with a Cuban. It’s a win/win!

So, why would any southeast Texas school be any different with the right coach? BTW: To answer your question, Doug Ethridge comes to mind. PNG's last State Title was in 1955. For the next 20 years they could manage only 2 district championships. Ethridge took over and won 4 straight district titles and played in 2 state tiles winning one. The difference? The 'RIGHT" coach came along!
