I think Prieto knew he could run the ball on Carthage but that was not the goal. I believe he was more interested in getting the QB some game reps. With the defense on the field as much as they were it would make sense to run the ball to give them some rest. But they did not They actually went in to hurry up. Could be bad coaching or a method to the madness. Either way he lost a winnable game

Years ago we did away with the mumps, measles, chicken pox etc. by vaccinating all our kids at school age. With all the illegals coming into this country that are not vaccinated we are probably going to see a rise with those viruses again. Things are only going to get worse.

Well this is my 2 cents. First game. Absolutely there were kinks to work for WOS. Coach T being gone was a big issue. The kids just didn't have that focus. They will be fine, especially the Running Dept.. Big Ned unusually good on the first game. #8 and the defensive front had a lot to do with it. Without the lightning delay, it may have been a little outcome. Sheffield Prod. had a few kinks as well. I still enjoyed it.

I think they ran #5 side to side for 3 1/2 qtrs and that could’ve been why the run was successful late in the 4th. The QB from Crosby went down awkward right before the end of the half then the cramps came. Without him being able to run the offense was worse than it was in the 1st half. You can’t get 5 turnovers and only score 17 points especially when one of those was a scoop and score, I agree with that. Personally I’m hoping the run game is going to be solid to give the D some time off the field, but this week is going to be tough!

The only HISD schools that are competitive in football outside of playing each other are Lamar, Bellaire, Westside and Heights.

I don’t see this being a blow out. I have watch PAM film. Don’t think they are the team KP was. Offense very predicable and defense is solid but does have holes. IF our offense can come out and put some drives together it will help our D not be on the field for 65 snaps a game. I could see it being like last year toss up. Just my two cents.

I think HD wins this one. I really don’t think HD came out flat against Somerville. They just played a better team. Hopefully QB will be back. If so , it should be a good game. If HD O-line can give Victorian some room he will give Hardin fits. i can see a 29-27 game with HD winning.

@Cardinal 1 I feel my Mustangs will have a good team hopefully building off last year. Curious to see what our new coach is going to do with these boys. As far as LCM I thought last year was the most talent I've seen there in a long while and they missed the playoffs again. I know injuries hurt them but Doucette is not an easy piece to replace. Don't know much about HJ but it seems like there always winning 20 or more games. I really feel with Warlow 6'3 Guard, Pappillion 6'7 Big that looked dominate in summer league, Darren Anderson and the twins we're going to be salty. Also our JV was solid last year and it started 4 freshman cooper, robinson, holifield and Brown. I like my Stangs to make some noise because most of these boys are in the gym right now. Also our Coach Castillo has a ring and with that experience that may put these boys over the top

A question for any West Orange Stark folks what would you think about approaching the powers that be with the idea of naming the broadcast booth in the WOS press box after Todd? Just a thought to remember Todd at the school he loved.

When I started as just a member on SETXSPORTS.COM my boys were both playing football and basketball for Evadale. I was the PA announcer as well, so I signed on as Rebel Yeller. I moved to the press box at Kirbyville after my wife started teaching there. After one season I responded to an invite to do the Wildcats play by play from SETXSPORTS.COM. it was then that I began to message and talk to Todd. He has assisted me and everyone else on the website and the broadcasts. Todd and I did an entire day on air from the Evadale basketball tournament in 2019 as he was beginning to consider doing games himself. We did a Jasper game last season as well. Todd did so much and he will be missed not just because of what he did for the website , but as a great guy and a true friend. We all lost a special guy today and the impact of his loss will be felt for a long time. To Todd's wife and family our thoughts and prayers are with you. And to Todd, I hope that they have high school sports in heaven, because we know how much the athletes and the schools of South East, Texas.
