2024: A Trump Landslide in the Making?
A BUC 77 and 2 others reacted to CardinalBacker for a topic
No, the fact that Trump did such a good job of alienating people that he lost the House, Senate, eventually the presidency to the worst presidential ticket, ever... Biden/Harris. As a politician you have two jobs... to make it easy to vote for you and hard to vote for the other guy. Trump failed miserably at this. You're right.. Joe Biden could never get 83 million people to vote for him... but Trump actually DID get 83 million people to vote for Biden. And that's beyond most Trump Supporters' ability to comprehend. Even though you get wet when Trump says dumb stuff, most decent people aren't willing to let his buffoonery slide.3 points -

2024: A Trump Landslide in the Making?
bullets13 and one other reacted to LumRaiderFan for a topic
The politics of many of these young folks are heading us in a bad direction...many want free school, free healthcare, the list goes on. They have no idea what made this country so great, it sure wasn't free stuff. The left that I refer to is not dumb at all, just the opposite, it's the folks in Washington, but a lot of their constituents, while maybe not dumb, they are very ignorant of what's going on. Anyone that voted for Biden and is now surprised at what is going on fits that description. That that group will have to be catered to does not bode well for our future. And just to be clear, you are not the problem and when I complain about the left, it ain't you I'm talking about. Even though we may disagree on some points, I can tell your position is based on research and reasoning. Lots of folks that vote don't bother to learn about who they're voting for, their policies and their past. And I know that goes both way, but the last election proved the touch feely ignorant vote is heavily weighted left.2 points -

Old folks knows what works cause they ve lived it. dumb is dumb no matter how you shake it. And truth hurts …..sadly standing true is now considered insulting We are headed the wrong way and I don’t see that changing even if a conservative is elected in 2024 the only hope would be something major happening world wide and NO THE PANDEMIC was not it. Or to be quite frank even though I’m against all the foreigners coming in you would think that these foreigners that are now citizens and have been wouldn’t vote for liberals givin we’re they came from (dictatorships, genocide, socialism, communism, starvation, etc. ) but i see why they fall victim to liberals fools gold of handouts……they had nothing before and so it looks like liberals actually care. so maybe just maybe the foreigners could steer us back. the left have moved the line so far left that conservatives come off as extremist…..when the true extremist are the left……the left provided the paint and the media is the brush.2 points -

I think DeSantis wins 2024 in a landslide, if he runs on his own ticket and doesn’t jump on the crazy train with Trump. Team D has been awful, as everyone expected. I live in liberal utopia land and even the people here absolutely hate Biden.. they just so happen to hate Trump more. I personally don’t think Biden or Trump run in 2024.. if they do, god help us all.. I’m not religious but I will start daily praying 🙏2 points -

Say what you want about Trump.....He did pretty good considering how the media and lots of politicians went after him. I can't think of anyone in my lifetime that had the popularity of this man and got people actively involved in politics...... What should concern everyone is that the government is letting private companies silence his voice. While some of you may applaud that, what are you going to do when it's "your guy" ?2 points -

I called this a disservice by the news media. Anybody could look at that report and come to the same conclusion that you did. In fact they practically said it by calling them Beaumont transit workers which they are not. The news media somewhat of a joke (notwithstanding some good reporters) and they never explain anything and sometimes I think they don’t know either. I have done many interviews over the years on television, new specials, print media and hundreds of press releases. I can assure you that when you talk to them they sometimes never have a clue but don’t ask anything follow up. There is no problem not understanding a situation with something you’re not familiar with but that should be part of reporting, asking pertinent questions. “What do you mean by that” would go a long way. They just put what they think they heard and it might be totally bogus. I honestly don’t think they outright lie on purpose. There just seems to be very little investigative reporting, just filling up space in the news.2 points -

Jasper vs Vidor
j_dog and one other reacted to Bulldogs92 for a topic
It's taken me a while to get into this season, to be honest, but here I am. It's harder to listen to/watch the games than it ever has been. You guys in Orange have professional, seasoned broadcasters and we don't. I'll leave it at that. Anyway, Dirty is all over it. We're very young and the offense is different (we run out of the spread), so losing games early wasn't good for us. There's a ton of speed everywhere as usual and the defense looked pretty solid in the games we played against PN-G and H-J. I think this will be a close game that could be decided by the kicking game, but I'll take Jasper 27-23.2 points -

Jasper has one of "youngest" teams that we fielded in quite some time. while I think they will come into their own as time goes on. A game and a half under the Friday night lights going into the 5th game of the season is not the ideal situation for getting kinks worked. Coach usually does a good job getting kids put in position that best suites them, he just having to go it at an accelerated pace. Defensively the DAWGS are ahead of the offense thus far I think. We have 2 or 3 sophomore players on defense that are gonna be alot of fun to watch as they grow and mature playing at the Varsity level. On offense no we don't have a Carl Limbrick but we have some young men that have some fast turning wheels. you will see Jasper throw the ball more than you have in a long time. for me personally I have taken a liking to #6 (Cuney) on offense. While Vidor thus far is having a great season(I wish them continued success as it goes on) and the fact those young men are usually well coached and play with all out effort. the Pirates are gonna be a handful to say the least. Granted HJ is not as good as Vidor I think. they do run similar type offense so the timing of this game with it still fresh on Jasper’s mind hopefully works out. the one thing I can/will guarantee come Friday night is that I will be there in Vidor supporting them DAWGS.2 points -

Rivalry games…. You never know. I will go out on a limb and say this much. PNG will need to get it together for the W. We have some key players back from injury which should help tremendously. But, we will need to score some points in order to make this a game. If we are playing from behind, we just do not have the firepower to make it a shoot out. But as far as history goes, this game usually proves history wrong. 20 in a row. 7 in a row, 4 out of 5, means absolutely zilch…. So whatever team is prepared, usually takes it home.1 point -

2024: A Trump Landslide in the Making?
bullets13 reacted to CardinalBacker for a topic
Higher education has become a bad joke.... It's too expensive, and the value of a degree has diminished as more people get them. I can't imagine trying to start out with $100k in student loan debt. When I was going to college in the early 90s, a kid could scrape up $1500 to pay for a semester of school during the summer if he was willing to work a little. There's no way that a kid can scratch up $5k over the course of a summer to pay for that same semester of school.1 point -

I completely agree with everything in your statement. What I’m trying to say is that sometimes we tend to dismiss people because their ideas don’t make sense, but this is dangerous because there is still power in their numbers. No matter how bad someone’s politics are, if enough people agree with them then there’s a danger that those politics will be forced on everyone, and we’re seeing that now. So the problem I had with your statement was this: it might be “their fault” for voting out trump because he hurt their feelings, but he still got voted out, and we’re still having to deal with Biden because of it. Part of the responsibility of a politician is to be appealing to as many voters as possible, and trump failed miserably in this area. We’re all now paying the price for this. I don’t particularly care for him as a person, but I wish like heck he would’ve toned it down a little and got re-elected, because for the most part I thought the country was in a pretty good place under him. That was the only point I was really trying to make.1 point -

I hope for a Trump/DeSantis ticket. That way we could possibly have a conservative president for 12 years (DeSantis for two terms after). I’ll be dead by then and can enjoy the time I do have left. As for the younger generation, it’s not their fault. They have been indoctrinated for the most part. At least we have young people chanting F Biden at college football games. Maybe there is hope.1 point -

Finally we have a real coach at the helm that is capable of making adjustments and planning ahead. Its taking awhile to pick up the pieces from a fromally great program that was gutted for 8 yrs ,but progress is starting to suface now. If Trump runs, the Democratic nominee will win. He's too good at making people vote against him. The other thing is that if Trump goes down in the primaries, the Trumpers will stay home guaranteeing a Democrat win in the General Election. Quote me if you want. When Trump announces he's running, you can go ahead and call the race for the Democrats.1 point -

I hate to go against the lynch mob, but you kinda have to admit that the most recent interaction with the law that these two had, SHE was the aggressor. You can blame mental illness, homesickness, astrology, or whatever you want... but if you kick a dog enough times, he's going to bite you. I just think that it's comical how everybody is carrying on and comparing this situation to their own past dealing with an abusive boyfriend, especially since the only evidence we've seen so far indicates that SHE was the violent one. How do we know that this isn't the Burning Bad in reverse? All signs point to it.1 point -

It was IHOP. It was a pipe/sign. My partner saw the blood fly and thought it knocked my eye out. Fortunately I saw it coming about one second before I got hit which probably saved me. I tried to block it with my left arm and I guess I did somewhat. They x-rayed my hand and wrist twice and thought it was broken. It was just severely bruised. I had a bruise about 3 inches wide from my wrist to my elbow on my left arm. My eyebrow had to be glued back together in two places to keep it from scarring so much instead of stitching it up. It was an intoxicated federal prison guard that did it. At least he was until that morning.1 point -

CEK easily better than 25! Crosby should be top 10. Just my thoughts.1 point -
I don’t care how down Dayton is supposed to be, sometimes these matchups are closer than they should be. I just hope Crosby can correct some of their special teams issues. If we don’t give up a kickoff return for a touchdown, that will be an improvement. Last year the kicker was able to get most kickoffs thru the end zone. I think that has only happened once this year.1 point
