    Crosby vs Barbers Hill

Wow, I read he wanted to “meet up”, not meat up. This just got weird.

  5. Although Shug was really good player (a personal friend of ours) there wasn't enough firepower on the team for a title run. During those years, they struggled to have healthy RB's, a horrendous defense, really good teams keyed on Shug. PNG hasn't had a really good defense since probably 1999, when they lost to Stephenville in the state title game. At the 5A level in our area, Nederland, PNG, Crosby, every now and then a BH or PAM will go 3 rounds and if really lucky 4 rounds, and lightning in a bottle (Crosby) to a title game. But to expect PNG to go to a title game because of one player (Shug) is crazy and to blame it all on if someone is a good coach or not is even more crazy. Just my opinion though.

  6. I’ve only watched the one game against LCM. But, I’ve seen teams that collapse against equal competition but will dominate even slightly lesser opponents. Performance is not linear. It’s hard to explain (for me at least) without drawing a graph. Like the concept of momentum in a game. A d-line gets a pressure, then a great tackle for loss, maybe a sack. And suddenly they look unstoppable. Like sharks smelling blood in the water. what changed? That’s the same line that was average the previous quarter. It also works the other way when the offense gets big plays in a row. You see the defense kinda accept their fate and wither. Young teams tend to do this regardless of their ability. It shows up first as mental mistakes as they try to out-effort the other guy. Then suddenly, a contagious fatigue spreads through the whole team. Its a 3rd quarter phenomenon. It’s not intentional, a normal human reaction really. Mature teams are not as susceptible.

  12. Honestly, probably one of the most exciting districts in Texas as far as the variability of how this district may shape up in the end.

  22. Very good post and you make some good points. Particularly liked the part about ‘teams collapsing against equal opponents then dominate slightly lesser opponents’. Seen it many times. In recent years Vidor has been an anomaly in the sense they may collapse against an equal or slightly inferior opponent, then play like hades against someone who should donkey stomp them. Just two quick examples, in 2019 Vidor defeats Crosby. It made little sense. Crosby was 0-3 but Manvel only beat them 13 points, while Vidor was 1-1 having lost to Montgomery, who only won 2 games all year. Then in 2020 Vidor (2-3 in District) meets Lindale, who ended up in the SC game. Lindale beat them by only 16. A forty point blowout would’ve surprised no one. No accounting, for me, why this stuff happens.

    Silsbee schedule 21-22

CE King, from a Houston perspective is dang near like going to Beaumont, or at least Crosby. Depends on the time/date. Same for Westfield, depends on the date. I won't elaborate. I haven't been back there since my daughter graduated from there back in the day. The area has "changed" so I am told. But hey I went to a game at Kashmere some years ago. Not tryna scare anyone. Prolly more myth than anything. I even found out I got a nephew & his fam at Westfield. I got grand nephews that play on their football team. My paternal side is complicated. Moving on.. Ion even know where Dobie is. Again, depends on the date. Hoopsgiving: Last time I went to this showcase Kenny Lofton Jr was laying down his post moves at will. The opponents could not handle it. But then this past summer the 7'3" frenchman (as in France) could not either.

  28. We hardly ever agree but this I agree to an extent. Png flirted with putting Shug and #12 on D cause they had no consistent D. If they had one Png would've at least won the region once during the 3 years Shug was there and possibly gotten to State. Don't think they would've gotten the ring though. Gotta remember: College Station put 50+ on em back to back seasons 3rd round.

  29. It's about the money. School districts consolidate because of the money. It's much more feasible to have 2-3 schools with the enrollments that Beaumont has than to have 5-6. When there is already a teacher shortage, why create more schools if not necessary?

    Maxine Waters

Using Ruth Bader Ginsburg as an example, I don’t believe she was evil or had any malice. Although she voted for some things on the Supreme Court that I agreed with, about 95% of the time I disagreed with her opinion. She was just opposed to what I believe on who should be taxed, on certain federal programs legality, police authority, etc. Maxine Waters however I believe is evil and full of hate. Her mind must be spinning with hate as she goes to bed at night and when she wakes up in the morning. Like Pelosi in her ultra liberal district, they both normally get at least 70% of the votes. She will be in office until she wishes to leave or until she assumes room temperature.

  34. I understand if you are over weight, older, underlying health issues ….yeah you may want to get the vaccine. So who has a better chance of beating this in the END: someone being pumped full of meds every few months the rest of their life (not knowing the long term effects) or someone who doesn’t.

  35. This game is making me skeptical about BH's defense even more. We had a hard time containing #7 of KP last week...we're gonna get blitzed by Crosby and maybe TC too. Ughhhh !!!

  36. Here you go, it was 10-7 before a stupid reverse flip at midfield and then a pick that turned into a td right before half. That reverse at mid field was the beginning of the end for TW.

  37. If half of the adults in a county are vaccinated and about 95% of the people admitted to the hospital for Covid are not vaccinated, I would call that fairly provable. You can say that we can’t be sure why 95% of the hospitalizations are unvaccinated and 5% are but I think that is ignoring the obvious. The virus might get into your system if you have been vaccinated but it sure seems to change the potential outcome. I am not vaccinated and recently went to a fairly moderate to severe case of Covid. Although the disease has run its course, I am still recovering and probably will for several months. I did not take the vaccine because of a fear of its side effects, not because it does not work. I think the evidence is fairly clear that the vaccine makes a huge difference in either not showing symptoms or if so, being relatively mild. But again, even if it is 90% effective (or as our vocabulary has recently expanded, efficacy), millions of people will still get more seriously infected and some of them will die. I think the evidence is fairly clear however that it will be at a much lower rate. If someone wants to take the vaccine, they will be many times less likely to be seriously ill or die from Covid. If they are like me and don’t want to live with the fact that they might die in the next week from a complication from the vaccine, even though with at extremely small odds, then that is OK too. It is a personal choice whether you want to risk the extremely small but possible serious side effects from the vaccine or the disease itself.

  39. WOS is not the same team they have been the past several years. I’m kinda disappointed on how they are playing. LCM is improved. I just think they are well coached now. Crouch was just there to earn a paycheck and ride it out because no one said anything.

  41. I don’t feel like digging into a bunch of websites but roughly speaking… I have seen in the several websites that say over 185 million Americans have received at least two shots or one from JJ. They are claimed to be something like 90% effective in stopping the virus. If you do get a breakthrough case, it should be less severe. That means…. Approximately almost 20 million Americans might get breakthrough cases. That also leaves about 160 million Americans who it is going to completely protect. Pointing out that this person or that person got the virus or maybe even died although the vaccine was taken, fits within the approximate 20 million Americans who have had the vaccine and still got or are going to get Covid.

  43. I know for PNG beating Nederland (and vice versa) is important to PNG fans, but having a Coach that consistently wins games (except for MCM), and puts you in the playoffs, is more important. Coach Faircloth does that. He puts an exciting package together year after year. You folks supporting PNG could do a lot worse, and getting one better is an iffy proposition. Good luck going forward.
