If you're 35 or younger then you probably played on a playoff team every year you went to Crosby except '18. Senior year sucked but junior year went 10-2, undefeated district champs and lost to La Marque in the dome in the second round. Ran for over 1,000 yards, was first team all-district and signed D1. Since you asked though? VHS wasn't as easy to make highlights on back in the day but my son did find this technicolor footage on Youtube while searching for some film of the old man. LC-M played host to the Pirates of Vidor last night. The halftime festivities included a freestyle rap battle between the towns most talented rappers. Vidor showed great promise in their rap game with DJ Santana performing the all-time classic "Throw your V's up " . The fans went wild when Hype Man Lenny-C made a special appearance emerging from the pirate skull through a cloud of smoke produced by the fog machine. Their second song " V's up hoes down" was cut short due to it's graphic nature. The Duo announced they are headed back to the studio to cut their sophmore effort " still throwin them Vs " , the release date is set for June of 2022.

Lol, if that was really the case then Vidor would’ve finished 1st in front of Crosby instead of 5th three spots behind them. Their seniors would’ve had memories of an area round shootout with Huntsville instead of a regular season win over a .500 team.

As has been pointed out several times, Vidor wears down the defenses in the 4th Quarter. LCM will want a cushion going into the fourth. If it’s close then, slight advantage Vidor. Like several Pirate games, this could be decided by who scores last. LCM is probably the best team Vidor has faced so far this year. Melon is correct, the Pirate offense needs to be hitting on all cylinders. Vidor’s best defense is keeping the Bear offense off the field. The LCM passing attack will be eating up yards like Pac-Man. The Pirate defense needs to get a pick or two. And for sure, no turnovers by the Pirate offense. If Vidor loses the turnover numbers, they most likely lose the game. Going to be a good one.

As of today I would say: 1. FB Marshall 2 Crosby 3. Montgomery 4. A&M-Con. 5. Texas High It’s hard to get a feel for FB Marshall this year because of their schedule. Their offense is kind of weird this year because their qb is also their leading rusher. I’ve been on Montgomery since the beginning of the year. They have all the offensive weapons, I’m just not sure about their defense?

👆 He’s right you know. We are trash, although BH has struggled the last two weeks with unsportsmanlike penalties. Hmmm…..

Baltrip and Gilder graduated. Silsbee returns 4 starters and 5 other players who saw significant minutes last year. With the additions from JV/9th teams, Silsbee will be at least 10 deep.

Foster and Angleton are going to play for that last playoff spot and I think PAM will ultimately get Angleton in the first round. I think it's going to be a tough matchup for PAM though. I know they're running through their district as usual but I think when they line back up against a formidable opponent they're going to have trouble scoring. They don't run the ball consistently enough and rely too much on the big play. Plus the seem very susceptible to being outcoached.

I think the question probably needs to be, "Why is Crosby trolling BH?". My answer would be to look at all the Crosby threads BH fans commented on prior to them collapsing against us. Y'all say all week it's because of one call but then lose by 14 the very next game? I don't think Crosby is "gloating" at all, I think it's more of a flat out ridicule. BH is the guy at the job that shows up bragging about his new truck Thursday but comes back to work with whiskey dents in it on Monday. The back and forth banter is nothing different than it used to be with Crosby and Dayton except the BH fans don't really have any ammunition to fire back like the Dayton fans did. I have a lot of BH friends at work so I actually like to see them do well, if for no other reason than the success of their kids. There we multiple BH fans in my department that drove up to Arlington to support Crosby in the state title game which I though was pretty awesome.

I heard that Anahuac has some legit skill kids. Some kids that may or may not have come in from outside the district...which happens when you upgrade facilities. Even so, it should be very apparent to any who doubted that East Chambers remains the team to beat within that local 3A district. There obviously is a culture there that other schools should aspire to have. A good friend of mine told me just last week, "Anahuac definitely CAN win because of the talent they have. The problem is that East Chambers usually doesn't know that they're supposed to lose". Good win, East Chambers. Unfortunately (usually), when a team with that mindset runs into them down the road it usually comes down to playoff winning experience. Miracles happen, though (Texas A&M).

Sparky was a beast. On the program I think they had him at 190 or 195 but he probably was more like 180-185. I think there was only one kid listed at 200 or better. Of course kids weren’t as huge then as they are now. Sparky didn’t see all that well. Heard one man say he’d get in the opposing backfield & grab several backs and throw the ones away that didn’t have a ball 😂. His Dad, and several uncles, were all ironworkers and all incredibly strong, and all really good folks. Very active in LL and Babe Ruth baseball, and a big reason the LL was started in Vidor. His older cousin, Rusty Morgan, got a scholarship to Rice as a DL. One of his Uncles made All State at French (DL) in the early 50’s and Coached me in Babe Ruth.

Hagar, you are right about that passing attack. Larry Tilton was QB1 and had 18 TD passes that set an OC record at the time. Was district MVP. His favorite target was Jerry Wheeler. Wheeler had 11 TDs receiving that year and was leading OC receiver.

This one is hard to call. I'm leaning towards WOS but if any team in their district can take them this year it may just be Orangefield.

I did not really care for the all black uniforms the DAWGS played in last night. after thinking about it since though if they(uniforms) helped in any kind of way last night I hope Coach has got extra black ones stored away. our next opponent is not exactly what you call a cupcake(Carthage). *I am not implying that any team the DAWGS have or will play are cupcakes.

Away from Crosby and back to positive things, I want to APPLAUD the PNG halftime show. That was freakin' awesome! It was great to see the Legacy Indianettes by decade perform, and even the past Indian spirits performed. Then, the PNG future was represented with the PNG middle school band. I mentioned to my wife last night that the TRADITION at PNG is just something special. I hope you guys never change. Just awesome! BTW, the BH fans gave the PNG halftime show hearty applause. We appreciate visiting PNG, and the whole experience there. Well done!

The last time a coach left Hardin with his quarterback son they went to Carthage and helped win 2-3 state championships in a row. I hope history doesn’t repeat itself but we are talking about Hardin. And yes, they beat Hemphill in a playoff game in 2007.

I felt like last year was the year for teams (besides United) to "get their licks in" on Silsbee. I honestly believe Silsbee is on the verge of another title run these next three years. I'll be watching that other 4A district as well. Huffman, HJ and Hamshire-Fannett should be fun to watch battle for the district title.
