  1. Hey, my Vidor peeps. I’m so sorry for being late to the party and not giving you the props and the accolades due to you. But you guys are playing some great ball. Congrats to Coach Matthews and Pirate nation. Keep this momentum going. I’ll start watching this squad closely from this point on.

  3. One is arguably playing in the toughest district in the state of Texas while the other one is playing in the weakest district in the state of Texas.

  4. You can analyze it til it harelips the Governor. Bottom line is WO-S did what they were supposed to, soundly beat an inferior Liberty team like 73-7. If Liberty plays well they lose 56-14. They didn't.

  5. Powerlifter you are "A Mustang solider for life" ... keep supporting your team your way.🙂

  6. @wbfan, what are your thoughts? I noticed that you didn’t offer any feedback and we are desperately missing your ‘energy’ on this thread. Please, come out and grace us.

  7. I talked with Jeff before the season started picking up my season tickets. He said this group of kids had a lot of heart like my son's team did that sharedTri District champs with Memoral and PNG. So far this team has proven that all year. I have no doubt they will continue.

  8. Mackey has the single season receptions, yards and TD record for Silsbee. Career receiving yards goes to Barnes. Miller is on pace to break all those records.

  9. And WO-S did it with just 11 players on defense. A good coaching move to rest the offense while the defense was on the field. This could be the future for football.

  10. That’s a good statement. I think it was an eye opener for the rah rahs last night. But for the football folks it was no surprise. BF is very limited right now. I will not get on here and call out kids and positions. But he is limited. I do think we can do better on the defensive side of the ball. Crosby did nothing magical in their play calling. Simple game film showed what they like, and who they like to feed. Our defensive plan was a joke, and I knew that mid week, that’s why I gave the 42 point prediction, and down by 28 at the half. I will say this, and it’s not something I usually say, I do not think on the offensive side of the ball , he can do anything more. And if he gets this team to a playoff spot, it will be a win for him. As for the yard signs, I don’t think you will see any, or should see any. We have had a run of very good QB play, and it has helped us over the past 7 years. This group is not as fortunate on that. The next 5 years are going to be a tough time at PNG. This team fell apart against Nederland, and it might very well cost them a playoff spot, but somehow beat a BH team that was a toss up. If they can pull a win out at TC, it will be a great win for these kids. But comparing PNG to Crosby is almost Ludacris. The talent pull is just not comparable, due to location.

  11. Best of luck Pirates, this Yellowjacket is pulling for y’all.

  12. There’s a lot at stake here with the Pirates likely gaining statewide recognition this week. We could have a state ranked top 10 team in Vidor for the first time in a lifetime. Let’s all rally behind this team, join me in showing support and make the road trip to Huffman if you can. Let’s bring the whole town and pack the visitors side stands, you know you want to see Coach Mathews in his snazzy game day pants. Also word on the street is they got good nachos over there in HH. 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

  13. BH put up 600+ on Crosby, PNG and Ned. Two of those games BH lost their head last night they didn’t.

  14. #21 Rodgers is certainly fast. Have heard his name called prior to Liv. game but not as much as you’d think after what he showed Friday night.

  15. That’s what I like about Vidors offense this year, you can’t key in to try and stop one player because it’s always someone different having a big game. They all get involved and share the load. Last year it was a little bit too QB centric and when they stopped him we were in trouble.

  16. Yes I noticed that. Dude (44) has some good speed, and so does 21 for Vidor.

  17. It's going to be a lean headline week what with WOS having a bye. It's going to be tough but we ask that y'all reach down and try to come up with something. Things will be back to normal next week.

  18. Nevermind, I forgot that there's a time limit on this site when you can edit your own post. I'll start another one.

  19. Exactly... Worst case scenario for us is that we can place 3rd in district (I seriously doubt it but realistically 2nd or 1st depends on how the Diboll game goes) and avoid playing Woodville or EC 1st round again definitely getting tired of losing to one of them

  20. My Coldspring Trojans so far have exceeded my expectations. I thought we would win maybe 2 or 3 games. So far 4-0 in district. Playoff bound

  21. You left several off.. Westlake, LT, SLC, Allen, Aledo, Carthage. I'm sure I have missed some but all of these have been ranked nationally multiple years since WOS.

  22. Franklin had around 100 kids come out for football... About 45 kids on varsity 30 on jv and 20-25 on the freshman team. We have a bunch of depth and could play with 4a schools and beat them. We beat 3Ad1 #7 lorena by 7 and 4ad2 #5 china springs beat lorena by the same score

  23. Cool. I was watching the 50-2 massacre from 2016. I'll watch that one next.

  25. @Silsbee92 no offense, my transfer comment wasn't in reference to your broadcast but it was in reference to the question @BADSANTA presented on another Silsbee vs HF thread on 10/17. I know the same people concerned about transfers at HF are also following this thread. 😉

  26. To answer this question for Crosby I would say the jury is still out. The season wasn’t really going to be about is competing for a district championship, it was going to be about if we could beat FB Marshall again. Thankfully the team health has held up and we’re on track for that. Very good job by Crosby’s staff getting the inexperienced starters we had at the beginning of the season up to speed quickly. Two teams I predicted would make some strides were Dayton and BU. Feels like Dayton is headed in the right direction, you see what TC did from last year to this one. No reason Dayton can’t do the same. BU still seems lost though, may need to let the basketball coach coach the football team too? I think the one school that has outdone even all the most hallucinogenic predictions is Vidor though. If the Pirates can get to 12+ wins Matthees may be looking at DCTF coach of the year honors.

  27. Like I was telling the PNG fans who were pointing to the stats among common opponents, there’s a difference in how they were accumulated. PNG scored on the second play from scrimmage, then Crosby scored 42 unanswered and the game was over half way though the second quarter. Even on PNG’s second td drive close to the end of the first half it was a backup corner who dropped the int two plays earlier. Most of those passing yards are a result of PNG down by 40 trying to air it out against the backups. Most of their rushing yards came from their backup rb against our backup defenders. Their starter probably had 15 carries for 30 yards.

  28. It's called trolling. Happens all the time here. Just get used to it. lol

  29. I agree. Two starters pulled their hamstring bcuz of Coaches making them max out on squats Monday is unacceptable. On top of that you lose one of your top DBs bcuz of grades. Brook is done and will finish the season 5-5

  31. Had to fix that for ya 😎 (look at Lancaster district) 21-6A is just ridiculously tough, I would think a Timberpup fan would know that but I'll give him a pass, he's in basketball mode anyway. 😁

  32. Long drive, opposing teams Homecoming, able to watch it on Texanlive for same price as a ticket, and probably already knew what the outcome would be. I was surprised PNG stands weren’t packed. I mean, it was y’all’s homecoming.

  33. Excellent broadcast except for a few misidentifications i.e. receiver/punter #10 DJ Brown not #6 Zeno which neither are "transfers" (of which we have very few). Some seem to believe that's why HF is doing so well but give all these kids credit because they are all sweating and bleeding BLUE AND GOLD.

  34. No, it's now called the Steel Linked Group of Guys Defense. Only time will tell if that's kosher.

  35. If the attempted mandating were to go away, this would be a non issue. The gov is the problem here (as, usual) not the folks that choose their own way. I can actually understand their pushback simply because it’s coming from gov.

  36. Its more SC's o-line than it is the RB. SC is just a lot bigger than WB. SC is running the same three plays. Every 3rd down they put the WR at QB flip the OT and TE and run the WR to the overloaded side. I mean damn make an adjustment already.

  37. Watching one game doesn’t really show me the better coach. I’m not a fan of BF by any means, but he does a lot with a little sometimes. PNG isn’t churning out D1 talent.

  38. I don't have the all time records but from my limited memory (2000-2021).... Miller may not only set the single season receiving record for Silsbee this year but could in fact eclipse career records for Silsbee receivers in his first season. The closest I know of stats wise to D. Miller this year is K. Barnes (2016-17) and Miller has blown those numbers out the water before the playoffs. I'd have to defer to more seasoned people to clear this up but if the pace continues then no doubt he will be all time leader at Silsbee, if he stays at receiver, by the time he graduates. Jmo

  42. outa up is correct about the offense. RB’s are not very good, QB’s accuracy is poor, only 1 decent receiver, and the Oline is really bad, however the defense is also bad. The secondary is basically non existent, only 1 decent LB’er, and the Dline is weak, so yes they have probably over achieved 7-3 not bad, 4-3 district, and unfortunately sitting at home during the playoffs

  43. Coach Riordan and nem changed the expectations at Crosby. Coach P is carrying it thru now. This isn't your Coach Haynes type Crosby Cougars anymore. 🤷🏾‍♂️

  44. The skinny here folks is that Ned just doesn't have the playmakers on Offense. Take Fuselier out of the equation and we would be below .500 on the year. We have overachieved IMO.

  45. Most prob won't remember but these key plays were unbelievable... 1) Sure INT on 4th Down mishandled and tipped into receivers hands. TD HF 2) Punt - Bad snap to 8 yd line. TD HF 3) Miller w/ INT chance only to be ran into by another player by accident to dislodge ball. 4) HF Fumble - Ruled down 5) HF Fumble - Offsides on kickoff (1 of 3 in game for both teams..lol.) 6) Heckaman Sacked/Fumble on 4th Down (Field Goal Attempt?) These were just a few of the plays that happened to keep this game close. I enjoyed calling it.
