So far they've played one Freshman up on varsity earlier in the season for one game to cover for injuries. I've been told they don't like to play them up unless it's really needed but I vote for a few of them to play up this week and for the playoffs.

Exactly right, the excuse that somehow Christianity is forced on folks is not true. A preacher preaches that homosexuality or adultery is wrong and all of a sudden they are guilty of wanting to infringe on folk's lifestyle. Nope. What will happen as weak Christians remain silent is the Muslims will slowly grow (sure can't offend anyone by calling out their beliefs...other than Christians) and when there are enough numbers, you'll see a group that has no problem infringing on a lifestyle they disagree with.

I agree, I do think we will miss it again by just a few kids. Then UIL will stick us with a long travel for football games and then in all other sports will put us with the schools that are 2 1/2 times bigger than us. It is a no win situation. We do miss being in the same district as Coldspring, the game just isn't the same being a non district game. Good Luck to you guys Friday, bring home the district championship!

While I tend to appreciate our state's willingness to buck the government mandate path, I kind of have a problem with a district not being allowed to do what they think is right for the safety and security of their students.

TBF - This is something you should be trying to do with that offense. Liberty Hill did it on every play until they got flagged for it. then waited couple plays and started doing it again. Sometimes it is an actual penalty other times it is the o-line knowing to wait 1 Mississippi after the snap to move. ball snapped quick everyone else moves, line starts moving .5s later and defensive line wasn't watching the ball just the guy in front of them. That's why you have to be so disciplined against that offense. They can change the pace on your over and over, fast then slow, then fast and not just the play development but also the snap pace, the amount of time under center can all change based on the time of game, formation advantages, and reads by the qb. This is the Db coaches telling players to grab jersey on the players side to stay locked into them. They do it until they get flagged but if they don't get flagged for a game why would they stop doing it. Also, same as offenses that hold on the interior on purpose until they get a penalty called. Same stuff different strategy. All those things are fouls but if they don't get called give you an extra advantage, so coaches do them until they get called. Surely someone who idolize Ole Bill wouldn't shy from a little rule bending to win.

What are you talking about? Illegal formational or procedural stuff? Or are you accusing Vidor of playing dirty? You probably have no clue, penalties have not been a big problem this year. They play hard for 4 quarters and have a physical style of play. If Lumberton doesn’t like that then they are in big trouble. Come Friday night they better match the intensity and physicality the Pirates will bring. Whining to the referees or complaining about officiating ain’t gonna cut it, it’s tackle football. 🏴‍☠️

In a game like this I fully expect Nederland to come out firing on all cylinders, the only issue is that they opted for the inline three banger this year and the parts are obsolete. Therefore, they’ll be battling KP to see who can finish in 6th place. Ben Featherston played on the D-Line with my son for the Raiders. He graduated this year with Academic Scholarships to Baylor. He is an awesome kid. As y'all know, Ben's body remains in a state of instability which is preventing his liver & kidneys from recovering. This instability is coming from his legs which were severely injured from lack of blood flow from cardiogenic shock when Ben's illness started on 9/29/21. Now, 32 days later, his legs have not been able to recover despite numerous debridements & surgeries. And, as his legs worsen, they release toxins into his body that keep his blood pressure unstable & keep his liver and kidneys very sick. This is very much a life or death situation. The only solution in stopping this viscous cycle is amputation. Ben will have both legs amputated above the knee tomorrow. Ben is aware of the situation and has shown strength beyond his age. Sure as hell is. It’s called survival. Have you ever gone over the speed limit? Even just a little? And people die in car crashes every day. As an offensive lineman, I taught him how to hold without getting caught. I don’t know if anyone was ever killed from being held by an offensive lineman. But if you know ANYTHING about football, you know this happens on every play. It’s one of the most common penalties on every level of the game. You’re obviously not a football guy, so I invite you to go spew your stupidity somewhere else.

I have those little magnetized football pics of my sons stuck to a file cabinet in my office. Random dude, who turned out to be a vendor, walks in and looks at them and says, “Man, y’all whipped our a$$”. Had never seen the guy before so I asked where he was from and he said Port Neches. Long story short we talked about ball for about 30 mins. Dude was knowledgeable as heck. He played for Burnett and I happened to mention I thought BF was a pretty decent coach. Boy, that was the wrong thing to say. If you paraphrase out the expletives he basically said PNG isn’t playing with any honor or pride, and used the Crosby game as an example. Also said the tradition doesn’t matter if the kids that are playing now weren’t alive to see it. I mentioned that because the gist of what he was saying is that PNG doesn’t have the same type players they did when he was there 20 years ago. He said he thinks the kids are just a lot softer and the only way to get different results is with a different coach but said the last thing he would do is get rid of BF because you don’t know what you would get as a replacement.

I'm looking forward to this game myself. It will be my nephews last home game, and for it to be for the district crown makes it even more special. Good luck to the Raiders as well and an injury free game. Go Pirates ‼️
