So far they've played one Freshman up on varsity earlier in the season for one game to cover for injuries. I've been told they don't like to play them up unless it's really needed but I vote for a few of them to play up this week and for the playoffs.

Exactly right, the excuse that somehow Christianity is forced on folks is not true. A preacher preaches that homosexuality or adultery is wrong and all of a sudden they are guilty of wanting to infringe on folk's lifestyle. Nope. What will happen as weak Christians remain silent is the Muslims will slowly grow (sure can't offend anyone by calling out their beliefs...other than Christians) and when there are enough numbers, you'll see a group that has no problem infringing on a lifestyle they disagree with.

I agree, I do think we will miss it again by just a few kids. Then UIL will stick us with a long travel for football games and then in all other sports will put us with the schools that are 2 1/2 times bigger than us. It is a no win situation. We do miss being in the same district as Coldspring, the game just isn't the same being a non district game. Good Luck to you guys Friday, bring home the district championship!

While I tend to appreciate our state's willingness to buck the government mandate path, I kind of have a problem with a district not being allowed to do what they think is right for the safety and security of their students.

TBF - This is something you should be trying to do with that offense. Liberty Hill did it on every play until they got flagged for it. then waited couple plays and started doing it again. Sometimes it is an actual penalty other times it is the o-line knowing to wait 1 Mississippi after the snap to move. ball snapped quick everyone else moves, line starts moving .5s later and defensive line wasn't watching the ball just the guy in front of them. That's why you have to be so disciplined against that offense. They can change the pace on your over and over, fast then slow, then fast and not just the play development but also the snap pace, the amount of time under center can all change based on the time of game, formation advantages, and reads by the qb. This is the Db coaches telling players to grab jersey on the players side to stay locked into them. They do it until they get flagged but if they don't get flagged for a game why would they stop doing it. Also, same as offenses that hold on the interior on purpose until they get a penalty called. Same stuff different strategy. All those things are fouls but if they don't get called give you an extra advantage, so coaches do them until they get called. Surely someone who idolize Ole Bill wouldn't shy from a little rule bending to win.

What are you talking about? Illegal formational or procedural stuff? Or are you accusing Vidor of playing dirty? You probably have no clue, penalties have not been a big problem this year. They play hard for 4 quarters and have a physical style of play. If Lumberton doesn’t like that then they are in big trouble. Come Friday night they better match the intensity and physicality the Pirates will bring. Whining to the referees or complaining about officiating ain’t gonna cut it, it’s tackle football. 🏴‍☠️

He was not forced to play football in high school, he could’ve turned down a scholarship for college, he could’ve turned down millions for the NFL and walked away to do something else non-slave like. I wonder if any slaves from the mid-1800s would consider trading places with him. Yes, I assume according to him, everything is slavery. If you go for a routine job interview, they are probably trying to determine who is best just like the NFL. So I guess technically he is correct. Almost everything we do can in some way be compared to slavery. Well, at least with a couple of big exceptions…. it is all voluntary and compensated. Ben Featherston played on the D-Line with my son for the Raiders. He graduated this year with Academic Scholarships to Baylor. He is an awesome kid. As y'all know, Ben's body remains in a state of instability which is preventing his liver & kidneys from recovering. This instability is coming from his legs which were severely injured from lack of blood flow from cardiogenic shock when Ben's illness started on 9/29/21. Now, 32 days later, his legs have not been able to recover despite numerous debridements & surgeries. And, as his legs worsen, they release toxins into his body that keep his blood pressure unstable & keep his liver and kidneys very sick. This is very much a life or death situation. The only solution in stopping this viscous cycle is amputation. Ben will have both legs amputated above the knee tomorrow. Ben is aware of the situation and has shown strength beyond his age. We have told him he has an army of Drs and nurses fighting for him and a second army of friends and family fighting for him and lastly, God's army surrounding him. COVID deaths don’t tell the whole story either. My stepdad didn’t die, but it messed him up. He still has some COVID fog a year later. A good buddy on this site is still struggling 3 or 4 months after getting sick as well.
